games. now they beat the bruins by playing smart, defensive minded hockey. and that wasn't the case against the rangers in game one. the caps found themselves in several penalty kill situations because of stupid penalties, two of them by ail ex-anderlechter semin who has been demoted to the fourth line. bad penalties. something the team can ill afford. >> three penalties away from our net. you know, 150 feet away from our net that weren't preventing a goal. that puts you back on your heels. >> it's huge. you seem to kill off for whatever reason it is, you always kill off the good penalties when a guy takes a hard penalty or something like that or seems to get a bad call. guys always kill it off when you take the little hooking penalties they always seem to go in somehow. you can't fool around too much. we're really good at disciplining and i think it helped us a lot and you have to keep the mindset. >> we worked hard and made some mistakes. you can see where we did make some. hockey is a game of mistakes and it's what you do after. >> reporter: all right.
