a circumstantial one. jurors say it came done to evidence about balfour's cell phone that suggested his location on the day of the murders. prosecutors painted balfour as a former gang member who went after the family in an act of vengence, because julia refused to reconcile their broken marriage. the defense pro posed some one else may have committed the murders in the crime ridden, south side chicago neighborhood. but they had no evidence to support that. those in the courtroom couldn't help notice tears streaming down jennifer hudson's face when the verdict was read to. night the jur say says the osca winning actress wasn't their focus. >> this wasn't a case about jennifer hudson. this was a case about william balfour. for us her celebrity had nothing to do with it. >> some of us tried our best to make him innocent. but the facts and everything, just wasn't there. some points we all did feel
