belmont park with a chance to join the greats, the 11 horses that have won racing's triple crown. and the question i have for you now, of course, is mile and a half, can he do it? >> he can get the mile and a half, no question in my mind that he can get the mile and a half. but what he's going to have to deal with is a couple of horses that skipped today's race in dullahan and union rags. they're freshening up, waiting to attack. one thing, is he for real, guys. >> on the plus side, i'm not sure any horse is really bred nowadays to go a mile and a half, but he has as good a pedigree as any do. he has the right style, he's tactical, committee show speed, back off the pace. he's fairly lightly raced, which is a big thing when you're talking about three races in five weeks like this. and after this preakness stakes, he has run significantly faster than either dullahan or union rags has ever won in their entire career. so we're going to see i'll have another as a pretty solid favorite in the belmont stakes. >> it's going to be a lot of fun in three weeks. i'll have another will be going

and now from washington's leading news station, this is news4 at 6:00. i'll have another has another. today's win at pimlico in the preakness makes two jewels of the triple crown. can he win the whole thing at the belmont? a terror bust in chicago. three men accused of plotting to attack police stations, the mayor's home and the president's campaign headquarters. but first, a man charged with two sexual assaults, and police say this is just the beginning. good evening, i'm chris gordon. police say an officer shot at an suv, trying to run him over in prince george's county today. the shooting involved a district heights police officer who was working a side job at a nightclub on athena street in capital heights. police say the officer chased an suv that hit a car in a parking

lot and then kept going. police say the driver started ramming the officer's car. the officer says he got out of his car, and the suv driver went gunning for him. the officer fired several shots, but the suv got away. it is unclear if anyone was hit. the officer was not injured. and now to a developing story in what police say is a terror plot by nato protesters in chicago. among the targets, president obama's campaign headquarters. the three men arrested say they were only operating a home brewery, but police say they filled beer bottles with gasoline to use as molotov cocktails. another alleged target includes the home of chicago mayor rahm emanuel and four chicago police stations. >> listen to obama! no tax money! >> those are protesters in thurmont, maryland, hoping to get president obama's attention at the g-8 summit.

the ethiopian immigrants are upset about their prime minister being invited to join the world leaders. some see him as a brutal dictator. african food shortages is just one of the problems tackled by world leaders in maryland today. the g-8 is also dealing with greece's money problems and nuclear security. brian mooar has the latest on the camp david talks. >> reporter: at maryland's camp david, president obama and his fellow g- 8 leaders declared they would stand united on fixing a global economy still facing stiff headwinds. >> this has been a frank and useful conversation and gives me great optimism about our ability to meet these challenges in the future. >> the most pressing concern, a greek financial crisis that is threatening to spread. the greek people have thrown out the government that agreed to strict austerity measures in return tore a european bailout. the g-8 leaders expect greece to

temperature, filled with sunshine all afternoon here in the washington area. and it looks like our great weather will continue at least for about another 24 hours or so. still 82 now here in downtown washington. 79 in annapolis, 81 in hagerstown, 81 in charlottesville, 80 degrees in fredericksburg. a mild evening on the way. the battle of the beltways continues, the orioles and nationals first pitch at 7:15, 76 degrees. beautiful weather for baseball this evening, or anything else you want to do. what about tomorrow and the rest of the week? we'll talk about that, plus tropical storm alberto. don't go away. >> we'll see you later. family and friends paid their final respects to mary kennedy today. the funeral was held in a small church in a suburb north of new york city. prominent members of the kennedy family attended and so did several celebrities. mary kennedy's estranged husband, robert f. kennedy jr., dli delivered the eulogy. the 52-year-old died of an apparent suicide at her nearby estate this week.

service is back to normal at the wheaton metro station tonight. the station was closed around 3:00 p.m. after a fire broke out on the tracks. buses transported passengers between forest glen and glen mont. the fire was quickly extinguished and normal service resumed around 4:00 p.m. a traffic alert if you travel the beltway in virginia. vdot will shut down the outer loop at braddock road tonight. clues will close a single lane around 9:30 p.m., and all lanes will be blocked off at 10:30. traffic will be diverted on to braddock road. closure is due to construction on the express lanes project. the highway will reopen by 9:00 a.m. tomorrow. a man in knoxville, tennessee may be very busy this father's day. desmond hatchette is the father of 30 children, and he is just 33 years old. the kids range in age from
