193, just after the -- sorry, northbound on the baltimore washington parkway after the 193 exit to greenbelt. this happened at about 6:30 a.m. both vehicles are in the northbound area of traffic. this area will be closed. the parkway will be closed through here for at least a couple hours while accident reconstruction goes on. we are told one person has died in this crash and another person has been taken to the hospital with serious injuries. we don't have information about the people involved in this or the vehicles for that matter. we know the person taken to the hospital is an adult male. that's all we have at this point. now the parkway through here is separated northbound and southbound traffic is separated by a wall that goes beyond that 193 exit. police are diverting traffic, and it's being put on south of

here. southbound traffic is accessing here from 193. if you go 193 towards the district, and you cross over the beltway, there's a ramp that gives you access to southbound, and that's where all the southbound traffic is getting through at this point. we don't know how long the area will remain closed, however when there is a fatality involved, an investigation goes on. one might have been a minivan, and the other vehicle, we can't tell because there's a lot of damage and possibly a fire following the crash. we will have more information as it becomes available. you will have to change your route if you are taking the baltimore washington parkway 295 through the greenbelt area. you can access southbound 193, and take the ramp and the northbound traffic is being diverted south of here on the beltway and then join up on 295

three men face terror charges. the three plotted to fire bomb president obama's campaign head quoters and the chicago please headquarters and mayor emanuel's home. they were starting the process of bomb-making when they were arrested but their defense attorneys say the men were set up by police informants. >> we believe it's a setup, an entrapment to the highest degree. the so-called devices and the plans to attack police stations and attack the mayor's office, that's all coming from the mind of the police informants. >> the three suspects are being held on $1.5 million bail. the nato talks come on a busy weekend for world leaders that just wrapped up the g-8 summit at camp david in maryland. the biggest focus was the world's struggling economy. they also threatened sanctions

we have already seen the super moon this spring, and today it's going to be a ring of fire. this afternoon a solar eclipse will be visible across north american. the phenomena occurs when the sun and moon cross, and at the peak of the eclipse, 94% of the sun's light will be blocked. the chances of seeing it here, chuck? >> no chance. zip. when it doesn't block out, we have the total eclipse is when you can't see any of the sun. when you see the ring around it, it's called an angular eclipse. it has to happen on a full moon or new moon. that's the way these things work. we will not be able to get a view of it here, and if you are flying out to california ask will be arriving out there

and leaders are in chicago after wrapping up g-8 talks in camp david. they also threatened sanctions against iran. protesters did flock to the nearby town, but the demonstrations remain peaceful. happening now the bw parkway is closed because of a deadly crash. it happened between 193 and prince georges county. police are not saying when the parkway will re-open. a major break in two sexual assaults in prince georges county. the charges against him could be starting to add up. here is news4's darcy spencer. >> reporter: police say more charges could be filed. he is accused of raping a woman on buchanan street in the queenstown apartments on january 28th. the victim told police she was walking here around 2:30 in the

morning when a man grabbed her from behind and dragged her into bushes and that's where he sexually assaulted her at knifepoint. the attack had the community on edge for months. >> this is a high-crime area, and this is nothing new or uncommon in this area and we try to take the necessary steps to make sure that our family and friends and everybody will be okay. >> he is charged with another sex assault in hyattsville, and he is being investigated as a possible suspect in a series of sex assaults that happen near the metro in northwest branch hiker biker trail, and some were at knifepoint. >> is this potentially a serial rapist? >> we know two for sure that he is responsible for. this is a possibility he could be a serial rapist but we don't know that at this point. >> reporter: police mounted a safety campaign posting flyers about these attacks all along

the train and warning women to walk in pairs. many are hoping with the arrest the community will be safer. >> if this is the guy that has done this, then we have taken a predator off the street. three horses mysteriously slashed last week are recovering. one horse is fully recovered, and two others are still recovering. $1,000 reward is being offered for information about who slashed those horses. new this morning, emergency officials searching for people possibly tracked after a earthquake in italy in the early-morning hours. five people died, and three people lived in a small town. two others died when a factory crumbled.

authorities evacuated factories in milan as a precautionary matter. and then a trench on the pacific ocean near japan's main island. one side of the trench has been slowly moving east since japan's 9.0 earthquake last year. that quake triggered a massive tsunami. that movement could last for decades and put north and central japan at risk for more earthquakes, and now to the wildfire in arizona where conditions are helping firefighters there, and this has been burning for quite sometime. the winds died down and allowed the crews to get control of the fire. it stretched over 13,000 acres. more than 900 firefighters are working to put it out now. a small mountain town north of phoenix had to evacuate their homes.

also, a busy street turned into a landing strip in florida. that was headed to the pines. it landed on a section of road that happened to be clear at the time. luckily nobody onboard was injured but the road was closed for several hours while crews worked to remove the plane. a georgia woman with a flesh-eating bacteria is fighting to stay alive. she is in critical condition. the 24-year-old fell in a zip-lining accident earlier this month. the bacteria infected a gash on her leg. doctors amputated one leg and plan to remove her remaining leg and hand. the hospital has not said whether that procedure happened yet. mark zuckerberg changed his relationship status to married.
