expect more storms. plus, an evacuation at whole foods. why we'll tell you about people getting sick in the local supermarket. and george zimmerman is back in jail tonight. now his wife could be facing legal trouble, too. good evening, i'm chris gordon. zimmerman turned himself back in after a judge revoked his bail. now his wife could be implicated because of some jailhouse conversations. and nbc's charles hadlock has the latest in florida. >> reporter: george zimmerman's six weeks of freedom while out on bond ended today. the 28-year-old former neighborhood watch volunteer aused of second-degree murder in the death of an unarmed teenager was led awhy way to an isolated cell. >> he's solemn, obviously. he's worried continually about his safety. having to come out of hiding is a concern of his. but i think he also realizes the judge's concern.

>> reporter: zimmerman's bond was suddenly revoked on friday when the judge in his case learned zimmerman and his wife may have misled the court about how much money they had when he set bond at $150,000 back in april. the family said it was nearly broke. but it turns out zimmerman had at least $135,000 in a paypal account he set up to solicit money for his defense. the florida prosecutors on friday presented transcripts of jailhouse telephone conversations between zimmerman and his wife in which they discussed their bank accounts. the state alleges they were talking in code, hiding the exact amount of money. >> it was misleading. and i don't know what other words to use other than it was a blatant lie. >> reporter: the attorney for trayvon martin's family says this proves zimmerman can't be trusted. >> his credibility is the most important thing in this entire case. >> judge kenneth lester was clearly displeased and ordered zimmerman back to jail. >> they were well aware of the money that was available. >> reporter: and his wife who

the state says lied may have to appear before the judge. >> he's worried about himself, his wife, his family. he's worried about everybody who has to be in hiding because of the enormous anger and frustration and hatred that has spurred from this case. >> now tonight we know at least nine tornadoes touched down in maryland during friday's severe weather. montgomery county saw the most with three. carroll county saw two. prince george's anne arundel county saw one tornado each. the strongest twisters were to our north in howard and har ford counties. two were classified at ef-1s which means winds of 86 to 110 miles an hour. more storms are in our forecast this week. storm 4 meteorologist kim martucci tells us when. >> i'm track something raing so showers. but they did have some punch to them when they were back in pennsylvania. since sliding south in the

mason-dixon line they've lost a lot of their energy. the sun sets so that helped to put a lid on things in the atmosphere. but nonetheless, we're going to have some passing showers tonight. the first batch over here into howard county and over towards columbia and prince george's county and sliding on down south along route 29. you guys are going to get wet. back to the west, some pulling down from brunswick, maryland, and heading along the potomac river. passing over leesburg within the next half hour. again, no lightning with any of this stuff. this is going to be the next batch of rain and showers that likely will get reignited tomorrow. so what we have today is kind of like what we're going to have tomorrow. we get through the showers tonight with cool ee eer 50s. i have the rest of the workweek details coming up in just a few minutes. >> thanks, kim. we are following a developing story tonight out of utah where two people working to fight wildfires have been killed in a plane crash. the air tanker went down around

1:00 this afternoon in the hamblin valley area in southwestern utah. it crashed while dropping flame retardant on the 5,000-acre white rock fire. that's one of several fires burning across four states tonight, including this one in new mexico. it has burned more than 240,000 acres and it is the biggest wildfire in state history. locally, an entire supermarket had to be evacuated after several people got sick today. firefighters say the whole thing started when someone set off a can of pepper spray. it happened this afternoon at the whole foods market in rockville. the building was vented. no one was required to go to the hospital. no word on who set the pepper spray off. a car came crashing through a woman's bedroom this morning. the tire actually hitting her in the head. news 4's darcy spencer has the story from riverdale. >> i woke up with a banging sound.

that's all. >> reporter: authorities say this woman was asleep in her bed when a car came crashing into her bedroom. she was wheeled to an ambulance and taken to the hospital. the woman fortunate to have only minor injuries. the car tire hit her in the head. >> it could have been a lot worse, huh? >> it could have been, yeah. >> reporter: the crash happened at about 3:30 in the morning at the chestnut ridge apartments on riverdale road. police are still trying to piece together how the car ended up in the apartment building. it went halfway inside. bricks came crashing down. a neighbor who happens to be a nurse helped the woman as she waited for medics to arrive. >> she was disoriented, yeah. i prepared an ice pack and put it on her head. >> reporter: the driver was taken to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. it's unclear whether that driver will face charges in connection with this crash. in riverdale, darcy spencer, news 4. family and friends of a security guard who sacrificed himself during a brutal attack

at a day care center are talking about his long road to recovery. 18-year-old jalen farmer stepped in when a man walked into a day care center in landover and started wielding a baseballbat. the farmer was severely injured in the attack. the teen had taken the job to help pay for college and was pursuing a professional football career. >> when this event occurred, there were 18 4-year-olds practicing for graduation. they were looking at him. and the only thing they kept say is mr. jalen okay. would anyone vels done that to stay there and continue to put themselves out there for everyone? i can't say they would have. >> an appreciation dinner is being planned for jalen next month. proceeds will go towards helping to pay for his medical bills and recovery costs. turning to decision 2012 tonight, virginia governor bob mcdonnell gave slight credit to president obama for helping the virginia economy.

mcdonnell appearing on cnn's "state of the union" program this morning says the president's stimulus programs did some good, but feels a republican agenda would make a bigger difference overtime. >> the only thing i can say is he had a nearly trillion dollars in stimulus and that was one time spending. did it -- did it help us in the short run with health care and education spending? did it balance the budget? sure. does it help us in the long term to cut the unemployment rate? i'd say no. >> mcdonnell did plac the president for being weak on energy policies that republicans feel would create thousands of jobs. mcdonnell is considered a potential vice presidential pick for mitt romney. he gave no direct answers as to whether he has been asked to be the running mate. a terrible crash in nigeria's largest city. more than 150 people are dead after a plane slammed into apartments in lagos today.

and authorities are still trying to figure out how many people were killed on the ground. there's still no official word on why the plane went down, but the pilots radioed the tower just before the crash saying there was engine trouble. the trial of jerry sandusky begins this week. the former penn state assistant football coach is accused of abusing ten boys over a period of 15 years. experts say the prosecution's case relies entirely on the young men who say they were abu abused. all of them have been prepped by prosecutors to take the stand. sandusky's alleged actions led to the firing of the late penn state football coach joe paterno. the school felt paterno didn't do enough after receiving an abuse allegation from a team assistant. ahead, the legendary game show host who made survey says a national catch phrase has passed away. >> something found in a refrigerator. you said, milk. our survey said, 28.

miss usa 2012 -- rhode island! >> and we have a brand new miss usa tonight. olivia from the great state of rhode island. coming in a very close second, miss maryland usa, nana nana meriweather. we caught up with her earlier this week. >> i'm so blessed to have grown up in the maryland, d.c. and virginia areas. it's molded me into the ambitious person i am. >> she's from potomac and has brains as well as beauty. she is currently applying to medical school. it was cold, rainy and windy in london today, but that didn't stop hundreds of thousands of people from coming out to watch queen elizabeth sail down the river thames. she led a procession of 1,000 boats for her diamond jubilee.

annabelle roberts reports from london. >> this has been a day where the modern monarchy has mixed with tradition. it was prince charles' idea to have a river pageant to commemorate his mother's 60 years on the throne. he was inspired by history. some 350 years ago, river pageants were often held for great royal events. this most certainly was that. 1,000 boats on the river today ranging from small rowing boats and kayaks to big paddle steamers and everything in between. >> i think fantastic. we're here having a fantastic time. i think in our lifetime their lifetime we're not going to see it again. >> there were boats that took part in the rescue mission to rescue allied soldiers during world war ii. there was even one boat that took part in queen victoria's diamond jubilee celebration back in 1897. the queen herself travelled in a barge specially decorated with ornate carvings and 10,000

storms, right? friday was nuts. >> one, two, chau, ch-cha-cha. >> we'll have some more throughout the week. it's one of those weeks where it's touch and go. the sky could be blue. clouds could be white and pretty and on a dime, things can change and we can get showers and thunderstorms here. that is just how unstable this air mass will be on top of us. very cold temperatures upstairs in the atmosphere. a look around tonight. it's quiet for the time being. no rain inside the beltway, but there some are showers coming towards us and skirting just to our north and northwest. they'll be closing in within the next hour or so. so if you live in the d.c. metro area, probably going to hear a little rain. luckily no thunder and lightning associated with this batch. 68 right now. humidity 52%. north breeze blowing at 5 miles an hour. more numbers coming in show that we have dropped into the lower 60s up to the north. it's even 57 well into the

western maryland cumberland. also 57 at culpeper and 61 at la plata. here are the showers. these were thunderstorms earlier. but as forecasted, they have weakened since the sun has set. baltimore has been awfully busy tonight. and most of these showers have been targeting northern maryland and skirting by to our north and east. this last batch is probably going to be clipping d.c. let me show you who is seeing what. here along i-95, right near savage and laurel, we have one batch of moderate rain. north and west, this one pulling down towards poolsville and barnsville. and right around urbana. that's going to be coming down 270 into gaithers burg and rockville in the next 20 minutes. then things simmer down tonight. we'll watch this whole area get energized again once the sun beats down on it again tomorrow. with the cold air upstairs in the atmosphere, and this strong insulation from the sunshine. that is very easy to turn over this atmosphere and squeeze out the showers and storms tomorrow.

tonight, will be mostly cloudy with the passing shower. temperatures easing back into the 50s. here's the upper level low that's going to be with us most of the week as it slides to the east. it keeps sending us spokes of energy. it's really not until thursday that we will shake free of that weather pattern and get a warm-up as we head into next weekend. you're going to see the sun and you're going to see some showers on and off pretty much every day for the next several days. but then that's the weather toll. we're going to have pretty nice weather ending the week. tomorrow we'll start off partly sunny and then those isolated storms will be building. temperatures once again stuck in the 70s. plan along with me the next seven and see the deal in writing. the busiest day for rain will probably be wednesday. that's when i have a 50% chance happening. and then come thursday, we're starting to wind things down. friday, saturday and sunday, looks pretty good. my advice to you, chris, do not wash your car. it's not going to be worth it. save that until later in the week so you can stretch it out
