good evening, i'm wendy reeling her. >> and i'm jim vance. prosecutors used his own words against him. jurors heard from the former penn state assistant football coach for the first time. they listened to the exclusive interview with bob costas. they also heard more disturbing testimony from accusers. brian moore is in bellefonte with more. >> reporter: the judge announced today the prosecution could wrap up its kay as early as friday. it was a very fast-moving day of testimony here with the prosecution building on the foundation said by previous witnesses. more accusers took the stand today. it's an attempt by the state to establish a pattern of behavior. one testified he was just 10 when he fended off the first of many fondling attempts and repeated physical advances.

but under cross-examination, he explained -- >> joe amendola did a marvelous job of cross-examining him. there were a number of things amendola was able to point out and did in a methodical way, that this witness had not testified to. >> the defense until produce the a scholarship form for second mile charity, in which the witness mentioned sandusky as, quote, a kind and caring man, and someone who changed my perceptions on life in a positive way. the judge man said sandusky initiated the sexual relationship with a touch. >> they have all described them beginning with a touching of the leg in the car. there is that threat that runs

through all these victims. >> reporter: the jury heard from two other men who told similar stories of courtship and abuse. for the first time the jury heard from a sandusky himself in this interview with bob costas. >> i say that i am innocent of those charges. >> reporter: yes, but sandusky also said that he had touched and had showered with young boys, which could be a problem as the defense takes over this case. live in bellefonte, pennsylvania, i'm brian moore, news4. a campaign consulting for rob urlich will spend the next 60 days behind bars. jewelies henson was convicted of fraud and conspiracy last month. he's accused of conspiring with the campaign manager to send misleading calls during the 2010 campaign. the calls told people to relax, because o'malley had already won.

>> reporter: good evening. federal agents from i.c.e., immigration and customs enforcement, got information that disturbing digital images of children were received by robert finn. he just happened to be a teacher of special-needs students here at this school in chanel actually, virginia. the principal of poplar tree elementary school sent out an e-mail this morning notifying a teacher had been arrested yesterday for child pornography, but that no students were involved or directly effected. salim share is the parent of a 6-year-old student. >> my wife told me she saw him twice playing with him, but he wasn't my primarily teacher. when she called in this morning and spoke with his teacher, he said, no, he was okay, he wasn't

rarity want to know whether a fire was deliberately set. it happened this morning in the 4,000 block of madison street. seven people were forced out of what is described as a group home. when firefighters arrived, they say flames were shooting from the first-floor bedroom. one firefighter suffered burns from his legs. there's a new push to hip improve schools in prince georges county. the executive anounced a 12-member commission, the panel will work with the superintendent to come up with ways to move the school sim forward. >> i'm committed to reversing the perception that our school system in prince georges county is subpar. it is not true, and it is time that we tell our story. >> that panel will be made up of parents, educators and business leaders. let's step outside. it was a beauty out there today.

russia and the u.s. are trading accusations now about syria. today's rush's foreign minister denied that helicopters are being provided to the syrian government. hillary clinton flatly denied a russian allegations that the u.s. is providing military support to the syrian opposition. in the meantime the french foreign minister issued the strongest statement yet from france. he said the syrian conflict has become a civil war, and he says the united nations should consider imposing a no-fly zone

over syria. u.s. officials continue to say they are opposed to military intervention. the head of j.p. morgan chase was called to account today for a mistake that cost $2 billion. the bank lost that money in bad trades. senate lakers demanded to know what happened. steve handelsman reports. >> reporter: ceo jamie dimon is a hero of the 2008 wall street crash for keeping his bank in shape, but the huge loss this year brought him to a hearing. >> this guy should be going to prison. >> reporter: at bron protesters who got arrested dimon admitted his minimum loss is $2 billion. >> we feel terrible, but no client, customer or taxpayer money was impacted by this event. dimon testified the crisis came when top staffers in london

winds out of the north at 18 miles an hour, but we are seeing those winds gusting upwards of 25 to even 30 miles an hour, closer to the bay, 75 the current temperature in gaithersburg, 77 in leesburg, 79 in fredericksburg, right now winchester coming in. well, storm 4 radar all clear, you would expect that to be all clear today with the dry conditions. it's going to continue to be fairly dry. we are watching one storm right out here. see this pin in the atmosphere in it's making its way off toward the east, but during the day tomorrow, it's expected to move back to the west. it will provide us, i think, with a bit of moisture, mostly in the form of some cloud cover, possibly a shower down towards southern maryland, maybe along the chesapeake. don't expect much. if you're down there along the beaches, though, thinking about heading down early, expect clouds and windy countries. winds look the beaching could be maybe up to 35 miles an hour with that northeasterly flow right off the atlantic ocean, so

replaces kwame brown who resigned last week in scandal. he was elected by an 11-1 vote. a special election will be held on november elf. mendelson has been on the council for 14 years and says he plans to restore trust in the legislative body. we know the driver in that fiery crash earlier this month. daria soboleva was a russian citizen spending the summer in ocean city. she crashed her car on dickerson road. police are still trying to find out exactly what happened. the comedian jerry lewis was released today from the hospital. he collapsed during an award ceremony at a hotel in new york city last night. doctors said his blood sugar was low, but that he's okay. jerry lewis is 86 years old now. a new dna test provided a big break in a local cold case that's more than 30 years old. tonight police say they have identified the remains of a

tacoma park teenager, but as we report, they aren't closing the door on this case. >> reporter: two police departments, two mistries. in tacoma park, it was april 3rd, 1980 when cindy gastel left her home for a job interview and never came back. >> cindy was a beautiful and vibrant soul, a gift to our family. 32 years ago she walked out of our home in tacoma park never to return. >> reporter: two years later another mystery, this times for prince william county police, excel cat remains were found in a wooded area at the base of bull run mountain. these were the clothes and jewelry found at the scenes. over the years, model and sketches were made to try to identify the remains. news4 even featured the mystery in a 2006 cold case story. some 30 years later the mysteries have merged. a special type of dna test that's only been reesely used

tells me they hope to have her remains returned so they can finally lay their sister to rest after 32 years. in prince william county, news4. there are fuel ran services this weekend for a lacrosse player from loyola who suddenly died earlier this week. adam pomper died near his home. he was a reserve attackman for loyola, and played in just one game this weekend. police say the death was not criminal in nature. a viewing will be held on friday, a funeral on saturday in new york. big changes coming for a lot of young athletes across the area. the nation's largest youth football organization, the pop warner league, is out tonight with new guidelines designed to prevent concussions for the kids on the gridiron. jim has more on the new rules. >> reporter: the new rules will affect thousands of players and coaches across the football league, pop warner coaches like

fire. two people were killed there, nearly 1,700 houses destroyed, the most single-most destructive fire in texas history. people are still trying to put their lives together. some are expressing their emotions through art. uses the ruins to illustrate the theme that life goes on. they call it art from the ashes. a collection of that work is now on exhibit down in texas. proceeds will go to a group working to restore the national resources that were lost in that fire. good for them. good for them. se

when mitt romney says "planned parenthood we're gonna get rid of that." good for them. se romney is saying he'll deny women the birth control and cancer screenings they depend on. when romney says "do i believe the supreme court should overturn roe v. wade? yes." he's saying he'll deny women the right to make their own medical decisions and when his campaign can't say whether he'd support equal pay protections. "and we'll get back to you on that." romney's putting your paycheck at risk. planned parenthood action fund is responsible for the content of this advertising because mitt romney is out of touch and wrong for women.
