your morning. friendly fair weather clouds drifting by this afternoon. temperatures staying about four o five degrees cooler. the 80 degree mark. no complaints about that. the reason you think it's going to be hot is the seven-day forecast has 90s all over that. we'll talk about that in a few minutes. president obama's new immigration policy is expected to be a hot topic at the hispanic community action summit happening in maryland today. the event starts at 8:30 at montgomery blair high school. the new policy will allow some undocumented immigrants to avoid deportation. the reaction it's getting so far. >> reporter: brian juarez who just graduated from woodbridge high school and his father are pleased with the president's policy change affecting the children of illegal immigrants. >> this is first sign of hope. >> reporter: they consider it a first step but not enough. just to help young people. they still want comprehensive

immigration reform to include a path to citizenship. >> it's not complete. i don't think any kid will be happy if they have a permit to go to school or to work and then their parents will get reported. >> reporter: the president announced people brought to this country by their parents as children will be able to get work permits and avoid the threat of deportation for two years. >> they are americans in their heart, in their minds, in every single way but one, on paper. >> reporter: at the white house hundreds chanted victory. >> yes, we did, yes we did. >> reporter: the order affects undocumented residents who came to the country before they turned 16 and are younger than 30. they must have no criminal history to qualify. the president's decision is once again fuelling the debate here in prince william county, an anti-illegal immigration group says it will hurt americans as they try to get back to work. >> the president's

responsibility is to fix the economy. the way you do not fix the economy is to add additional workers to the low end of the labor pool. >> reporter: in manassas, darcy spencer, news 4. a bit of controversy during president obama's anunsment of the new policy. a reporter tried to ask a question during the president's speech, but the reporter says it was all a big misunderstanding. >> it is the right thing to do. excuse me, sir. it's not time for question, sir. not while i'm speaking. >> the person asking the question was neil monroe right there in the light colored khaki jacket. he's a reporter for the daily caller. monroe asked the president why do you favor foreigners over american workers. he later said he thought obama

was finishing his speech and wanted to get a question in before the president walked back inside. he said, quote, a roert's job is to ask questions and get answers. our job is to find out what the federal government is up to. a good reporter gets the story. we're proud of neil munro. the next republican nominee for governor in virginia will not be chosen by voters. they'll hold a convention rather than a primary. convention delegates will decide between bill bold iing or ken cuccinelli. a proposal that would have made virginia one of the most restrictive and expensive state in the country for women to get an abortion has been struck down. the virginia board of health rejected a requirement that existing abortion clinics meet

the same building standards as new hospitals. instead only newly constructed clinics will now have to meet those standards. critics had warned that stricter regulations could force many abortion clinics to close. supporters of the original rule said they were try to protect women's health. some masked men ran into more than they bargained for when they tried to rob a pennsylvania congressman's home. debra brady t wife of congressman bob brady, was watching the news when her tv died. she spotted two men sitting on her lawn furniture and a third man tried to break into the house, she took action. >> one of them was looking through the windows, and then they decided to try to open the screen door to the sliders. when they did that, i went right up to the screen door t slider, we were face to face and i started banging on the window. and they all looked at each other and they just took off. >> nothing was taken from the

bradys' yard. police say they don't think the house was a target because brady is a politician. a man is in the hospital in serious condition after a major fire in northeast d.c. crews responded to a call in the 400 block of 15th street around 8:00 tonight. firefighters believe the fire started on the second floor. crews also checked out a 5-year-old boy who may have been inside the home. he was found at a neighbor's home and didn't need any medical treatment. officials are still looking into what caused that fire. a group of students might be -- for shooting two kids with a bb gun. they were walking to middle school in chantilly when they were hit yesterday. police caught up with a group of students from a different school. they're still trying to figure out why the students shot the bb gun at those two kids. many of us are still feeling the attitude after last night's loss. the nats are king of the

nation's capital. with a big win, we went out to soak up the excitement. >> reporter: the start of what's expected to be a soldout we could at nats park. even these standing room spots are going for $25. extra officers are being deployed to try to keep the crowds and cars moving. >> welcome to the ball club. >> reporter: few could have predicted this year's nats/yankees matchup would be a battle of first place teams. but this family sensed something big was coming. they bought their tickets back in november and drove 350 miles to be here. >> we know all the guys this year, we just can't wait. the excitement's just overwhelming. how -- what a big game this is for us. >> reporter: this bowie family shares the feeling. they say they had to be here. >> you have two number one teams facing each other today. i think this will be a good milestone if they can beat the

new this morning, egyptians are headed to the polls to vote for the country's first democratically elected president. the historic runoff has deeply polarized the nation. one of the candidates is inform leader hosni mubarak's last prime minister while the other is a u.s.-trained engineer that belongs to the muslim brotherhood. it remains to be seen if the country's current military leaders will relinquish power. two days ago the military dissolved parliament instituting martial law. alan gross' wife and lawyer said that the american

contractor's health is failing. he's having trouble walking and developed a mass on his shoulder. but cuban officials are calling those claims a campaign of fabrications. they say that gross' health is normal and point out that he's being held in a military hospital rather than a prison. gross is serving a 15-year sentence after being accused of spying. the secret service is once again under fire after a list of incidents involving agents from the past 20 years is now public. news outlets requested this information after the secret service prostitution scandal in colombia. one of the most serious incidents involved five agents who were partying with underaged girls at the olympic games in salt lake city. and there are also multiple incidents of domestic violence and driving while intoxicated. in ten days the pentagon is holding its first ever salute to openly gay military members.

last night president obama welcomed members of the lgbt community to the white house for a reception in the east room. he told the crowd that while progress has been made there's still plenty of work to do for that community including a nondiscrimination act. it's an amagz sight, a man walking a wire over the country's most iconic and powerful waterfall, but in all honesty nik wallenda made the historic trek across niagara falls look easy. jay gray with his walk into the record books. >> reporter: the anticipation gave way to quick applause and then a nervous silence as nik wallenda stepped out and on to the 1800-foot two-inch cable stretched across the falls. 200 feet with the water and the mist adding to the difficulty and danger, he carefully put one

thousands of protesters are in mexico city ahead of the g-20 summit which is set to start monday. the demonstrators are upset with the g-20 ast economic policies. they believe that world hunger and economic inequality should be important issues. greece is holding its election on sunday and spain is still waiting to receive its multibillion dollar bailout. new from overnight, carlotta has reached mexico but has already weakened to tropical storm conditions. it hit mexico as a category 1 hurricane last night. tourist are adamant they're planning to ride out the storm. meteorologists expect carlotta to weaken into a tropical depression by tomorrow, which i understand is good news. >> we love weakening as far as a

gambling wants to bring a new casino to prince george's county, but mgm says they are not planning on turning national harbor into las vegas. they want to build a complex that includes slot machines, table games and a luxury hotel. it could mean 2,000 construction jobs and 4 thises this permanent jobs. before any of that can happen sh the general assembly would need a special session to approve the plan. new this morning, hundreds have taken to the streets in japan protesting the government's decision to bring it nuclear reactors back online. protesters say it's a dangerous risk and the country is doing fine without them. last year's earthquake and tsunami damaged the plant enough so that it would be shut down

signs are posted directing traffic to use the right exit instead. and that number is 64-a. v-dot is working on the '95 express lanes project which should be finished later this year. with temperatures rising, fairfax county police are looking to turn the heat up on aggressive drivers. police kicked off a new initiative called operation summer heat. heat stands for help eliminate aggressive traffic. all summer police will be on the lookout for reckless driving and speeding. police are looking for the operation border to border. they hope to cut down on accidents along i-15. your cab ride will get a lt cheapner the district. a $1 gas surcharge will expire on wednesday at midnight. the fee went into effect in march of last year as gas prices started to skyrocket, but now that prices are starting to drop, they've decided to drop the extra fee.

early saturday morning. 64 at national airport. nice and cool. most of the burbs. near 60 in hagerstown, but 55 damascus down towards laytonsville. low 60s along the bay. so the forecast couldn't be any nicer. going out to annapolis, doing sailing on the chesapeake bay. if you are going to go out and do splashing at the bay sh no complaints at all. then temperatures back down into the upper 60s. first pitch 7:05 this afternoon, even though we got beat last night, chances are better. temperature just short of 80 degrees. nothing showing up on doppler. we'll be 100% dry through the

weekend. the only exceptions would be in the blue ridge might have a chance for a shower coming up tomorrow. this high pressure and sunshine for now. there's that little ribbon of high cloudiness this morning. but high pressure number one moves off shore. gradually our east to northeasterly wind will take a southern component. that will warm thing up just a touch. but i think as a whole, you're going to like the weekend and i think you're going to like most everything else that's coming up as well. my computer not going along all that smoothly. see if we can get that here. it's showing that it's changing but it doesn't look like it's actually changing on the air. see if i can make this thing -- leaving me hanging. i'll put the seven-day up and we'll fix this once and for all. it is a monday here in my world, everybody.

you got to be what you are. raheem's a lot of fun. he's an excellent football coach brings energy. some day the offense will have a great day and the next day the defense will have a great day. there's a lot of trash talking right now with a lot of the young guys on the staff. but it's fun to see. players play into it. a good camaraderie. >> he's been great. he brings a new energy to the practice. he's always talk can trash to the offense, gets everyone riled up. makes us play harder. when you start to get under people's skins that's when energy coming out. >> reporter: morris will be tasked this season with shutting down opposing offenses, and that start in practice where the skins offense has already got an taste of the trash talking new guy. >> he gets on my nerves a bit. i've known raheem for a while. he's one of my boys and he's funny. he's a little louder out there
