those dates coming up. we could be flirting with record heat. more coming up. >> all right, thanks. hundreds of homes have been evacuated in san diego because of a wildfire. dry conditions and high winds helped fuel this blaze which started yesterday. it's already doubled in size and consumed more than 80 0 acres. one structure and a travel trailer were burned. the blaze is 30% contained. there's a big concern about changing weather patterns that could create problems later today. the exact cause of the fire remains under investigation. rush plus metro's new rush hour system is now in effect. it's designed to make commuters rides to work and home faster and safer, too. riders can switch train lines without switching trains. some orange line train that is begin in vienna will soon be a blue line station. some blue line trains that start

breaking news now. a jury reached the verdict in the roger clemens trial. the verdict is expected to be read in a few minutes. we'll have it for you as soon as we get it. rodney king who was beat back in 1991 led to city wide riots. he was found dead in his pool at his home early sunday. they are saying it was a drowning. he was an avid swimmer. neighbors heard a commotion and crying in his backyard. king released the memoir about his beating and struggling and rehab. >> he should be remembered, and every man thrust into extraordinary circumstances and tried to deal with them while he was not in his finest form.

of heat come to the east. the mid-atlantic states are heating up. thursday, we are going to max out. it's the hottest day out of the week. friday, still heat left right there in areas of the mid-atlantic states. there's a cold front coming through on friday. the cold front could come with powerful storms. we are left with showers now heading east of i-95, south and east of fredericksburg. the thunderstorms you can see those showing up on storm 4 radar. i think it will be three hours or so before the line gets into d.c. that depends on how much of it holds together. once the sunsets, the energy will be gone from the storms. we'll wake up tomorrow in the 60 s. 63 to 65 degrees. so, a milder start for us. pretty warm day coming up tomorrow. temperatures close to 90 degrees. culpeper hitting 90. fredericksberg, 90 drgs.
