coming in at 84 degrees and then you got 88 and locust dale and culpepper. 90 degrees south in spot sylvania, and bowling green. for tomorrow, we've got a heat advisory and it starts at noontime until 8:00 p.m. they issued a heat advisory for pretty much all of our viewing area as temperatures are due to soar, that heat index value between 100 and 105. and i think thursday will be even higher. as we look outside right now we have a few clouds. showers and storms down around charlottsville. for us, a few clouds around the area and we'll head down to 82 degrees by 7:00. 77 by 11:00 p.m. muggy, humid and, again, higher heat coming our way for the rest of the week and i'll have that coming up. now the latest today from the defense in the jerry sandusky sex abuse trial. today a psychologist testified that sandusky suffers from a

disorder that makes him crave attention. and the defense pushed what it calls the "good character" of the former penn state coach who is accused of abusing ten boys. brian mooar has the latest. >> reporter: a defense expert testified that former penn state football coach jerry sandusky suffered from a personality disorder that makes him crave attention and believes relationships are more intimate than they'll really are. the diagnosis of histrionic personality disorder afters an alternate explanation for what we're previously skrieshed as creepy love letters from sandusky to one of his accusers. atkins says sandusky was writing down his disappointment that his oddly-deep affections were not being returned by others. day two of defense testimony focused as much on knocking down charges as building up sandusky's reputation. with a parade of character witnesses recalling his good

deeds. >> these character witnesses really do nothing other than the fact this they signal to the your that there are people who have come forward who are reputable in the community standing by sandusky. >> under aggressive questioning by the defense, two state police investigators denied they shared details of crimes among the alleged victims to coach their testimony. but an audiotape revealed they shared specifics with at least one witness. defense attorney has tried to show several of the accusers have a financial interest in sandusky's conviction. a neighbor testified one accuser had hoped to win enough money to buy a big home. another accuser was described as, quote, a dishonest person with who embellished stories. defense attorney raised some eyebrows when he joked this case was like a soap opera, "all my children." from pennsylvania, brian mooar, news 4. new jersey man who used a webcam to spy on his gay college

roommate is a free man today, darrin ravi was released from jail and had spent 20 days behind bars. a judge sentenced him to 30 days in jail for videotapes his roommate sisk another man. the roommate took his own life. immigration authorities say they have no plans to deport the indian native. delaware police are looking for a man in connection with a murder. the body of 26-year-old danielle melman was discovered at the atlantic oceanside motel on coastal highway. the police say she had been stabbed several times and police are looking for 26-year-old man from wilmington, delaware. he's seen in this surveillance video. these photos. the victim is from ben salem, pennsylvania. outside of philadelphia. today we learned that the two of them traveled to the motel together and the first floor room where the woman's body was found was in his name. news 4 chris gordon will have a full report coming up at 5:00.

after a public rallies and closed-door meetings the university of virginia fade has a new president. the college board named an interim president and reached a decision early this morning after a marathon meeting that lasted about a dozen hours. he's been the dane of uva's mcintire school of commerce. he'll replace teresa sullivan who was forced from her job less than two years into the term as the school's president. the board of visitors didn't say why they forced sullivan from her job but it's been suggested because of a lack of outside funds raising. president obama is still at the g-20 summitt but a move he made before leaving for mexico is dominating the political discussion today. it's about immigration. president obama's sudden policy shift on friday has already won a lot of public support. and republicans are scrambling. steve handelsman has our story. >> reporter: in scenic los cabos mexico, as president obama worked the g-20 summitt his move

babies testing positive for pot! why would that be? >> low pressure isten to this. we do funny cam videos but stuff like this. when you're a new parent when they take the baby to get washed after its born they give it a bath. the university of north carolina, chapel hill found that all these babies were testing positive for marijuana. are they popping out smoking? a link to certain kinds of soap that they bathe the babies in. it's not actually marijuana. there's no side effects. babies aren't getting high. that's important to note. however, there's a handful of different washes including johnson & johnson's head to toe baby wash. johnson & johnson's bedtime bath. aveeno wash and shampoo, all have a trace of a chemical that mimics thc and when they did pee pee test, they found some gets off the skin. so now they send any babies test

34. and the s&p ended the day 13 points higher. 7-year-old max page became famous after playing a pint-sized darth vader in a commercial. >> now he's recovering from successful open-heart surgery and as miguel almaguer reports, the youngster is proving he's pretty tough in real life, too. >> reporter: as little darth vader he used his powers to capture our imagination. but the boy behind the mask is using his real-life story to capture even more hearts. >> that was kind of scared. >> but i fell asleep and after that, i didn't remember anything of the surgery. >> reporter: today, 7-year-old max page's home from the hospital on his way to a full recovery after opened heart surgery. >> i'm excited about a lot of things, especially having a milk shake. >> reporter: doctors say the valve in max's pulmonary artery was basically, nonexistent.

if pictures are a little difficult to look at but there is a good news story here. a story about a florida teen who was accidentally shot in the head. with a fishing spear. it happened earlier this month. 16-year-old was with a friend when the spearfishing gun accidentally went off when it was being loaded. at tamara hall reports, the doctors talk about the victim's amazing recovery. >> reporter: on monday, doctors at jackson memorial hospital revealed details of how they saved a miami teenager after a freak fishing accident left him with a giant fishing spear through the head. >> we used a high-speed drill to drill the bone at either end to create an opening through which we could remove the spear. the first order of business was to try to get the spear cut off

to allow us to do all of these tests and have not have it move. we were then able to plan the surgery rationally and position him lying with his left side down and right side up. and then we were able to open a large incision. >> nearly two weeks ago, 16-year-old lopez was fishing with a friend. the boys were loading a three-foot spear gun when it accidentally went off and hit lopez right above his right eye. the force was so strong, it knocked lopez into the water. his friends called 911. he was conscious when he was airlifted to the hospital. >> very shortly after he arrived, he started to get agitated and kind of for lack of a better word, panicky. we didn't know if it was a result of the injury to his brain or because he was scared and in a lot of pain but he was awake and interacting with us. >> dr. george garcia treated low was upon arrival and the single best indicator lopez would survive, the fact that he remained lucid throughout. >> i expected him to do well.
