their bodies were found about six days apart last october. the court hearing is scheduled for next week in montgomery county. a potential explosive report is to be released tomorrow in the scandal involving jerry sandusky. the university board of trustees ordered the investigation to determine whether university officials did anything to cover up the scandal. >> he was convicted last month. tomorrow morning the highly anticipated release of the report of the investigation led by former fbi director louis freeh commissioned by university trustees is expected to detail the facts and circumstances of the actions the penn state universal officials, and what they knew and rumors they heard

about 68-year-old sandusky abusing young boys on camp husband. it's expected to focus on joe paterno as actions after coach mcqueary informed him of seeing sandusky in the shower with a young boy. the families of the boys who testified at sandusky's trial add fined lawsuits against penn state may discover new evidence of the report. additional plaintiffs could sue. recently an e-mail reportedly from paterno to school officials that was partial leaked indicates the coach insisted on handling all discipline personally. the family wants an opportunity

to respond to the freeh report. the freeh report will be release online at 9:00, then louie freeh and his investigates will be holding a press conference at 10:00. in the newsroom cried gordon at news4. and chris gordon will join us tomorrow on news4. the cleanup is well under way after last night's storms. this evening some d.c. residents are angry about the flooding. this wasn't the first time the water has poured into their homes. they say the city should have done more to prevent this latest flood.

richard jordan is in the bloomingdale neighborhood, where some residents say they've had enough. richard? >> reporter: doreen there are two reasons with the area because of the low elevation and behalf poor drainage. the city says they clean out the drains once a year. yesterday was not enough warning. residents say that's not enough. the filth spilled into several hospitals. several cars stalled out, others were soaked inside. but those on rhode island avenue and first street northwest saw the worst of it. the conformbasins spilled over. these green stickers on the sewage tops indicate when work crews cleaned out the drains,

but most of them have faded off. district administrators say the tabs are not an accurate indicator of prior maintenance. >> we need huge infrastructure change. >> reporter: chris says the district needs to find a better way to stay on top of drainage. >> we're really getting scarce. every time it floods, the foundation gets unsettled, and, you know, it's one they to say sorry, but we have to fix it. >> reporter: the affected residents are fed up with the flooding. d.c. water says the old drainage selfis part of a massive overall project to reduce the backup and thely bring down the flooding. for the families living here, the problem pebss until it's complete. >> reporter: the city says the project should be complete by

a big fire in ohio sparked by a freight train derailment is burning more than 16 hours -- the train jumped the tracks at 2:00 a.m. in columbus. some of the rail cars exploded, two people were hurt, but both are expected to recover. the national transportation safety board will try to figure out what caused this train to derail. the questions, rumors and speculation are growing about jesse jackson jr. he's been on medical leaf for more than a month. his wife said she hopes to release information soon. she also noted that medical leave is protected status, but congressional leaders are

be in place to evacuate russian citizens and other military asects in syria in the situation deteriorates, but some see it as a move of continuing support for syria's president. a possible big break in the murder of sarah fox. sources close to the investigation say they have new dna evidence from a chain left at a subway stop in march. it was left by occupy wall street protesters. investigators say the dna matched a sample found on a cd player at the murder scene. police are now on the hunt for a suspect. >> likelihood is high that the person who left that dna on the is the killer of sara fox. the case is close to being solved. >> reporter: so for the manhattan district attorney, nypd and the medical examiner's office are all refusing to comment on the investigation.

a toddler in california owes her life to kids who happened to be swimming nearby. 2-year-old alice avilas ended up in the canal. when her parents noticed her missing, they searched the water, but they couldn't find her. downstream, though, some teens were in the water cooling off. >> we saw a little figure floating in the water. >> reporter: face-up or face down? >> face-up. >> reporter: what did you say? >> i said look at the doll. he said, no, it's actually human, it's a little girl. >> i ran to the tree over there, and then i got her out. you carried her, gave her to his dad, i ran home and called 911. >> an adult at the scene performed krism pr and doctors say alice will be okay. it's so important to learn cpr

84 in fredericksburg. the cool spot right now, winchester. not much in the way of rain. they're well to the north and west of washington. do not worry about rain tonight. up toward the north we've seen some showers and a few thunderstorms around the hagu s haguerstown area. most of that rain staying up there. it's still down to the south, warm temperatures to the north of it, and high pressure starts to settle in. that will allow for a beautiful day tomorrow, another great day on friday, those friday could be a bit cloudy. we're going to watch very closely.

the other thing we'll watch out for, as the high pressure starts to move off, this frontal boundary does move back to the north as a warm front on saturday. it will bring in warmer air as we head into the weekend. this evening partly cloudy, a nice evening temperature. around that 7:00, 8:00, 9:00 hour. tomorrow morning, not bad at all. a great start. sunshine tomorrow at 5:53. 64 in some of the cooler suburbs. one of the cooler days we have seen out there as far as temperatures go. 86 to about 90. low humidity. a great afternoon with plenty of sunshine. tomorrow will be fantastic we'll be live. also some pretty nice weather down toward the beaches, thursday, friday and saturday. saturday does look like at least a chance for shower activity.

88 degrees on saturday. i think the beaches will get on the warm side, but not quite as hot as inland. temperatures the next few days, 89 tomorrow, 88 on your friday, 40% chance on saturday. i think that's the best chance for rain. some of those storms would be on the strong side. i would worry about the heat, at least a bit. 94 on sunday, i think the heat index could be between, saying, 97 and 100. same deal goes for monday, tuesday, and into wednesday. even though we're not sitting 100 degrees, i don't think we'll hit 100 with this heat wave. the heat index could be a bit of a problem. of course, we'll be watching it very, very closely. of course, tomorrow, i already mentioned it once, let's mention it again. backyards weather. send us pictures to nbcwashington.com. tomorrow we have a great house in the ft. washington area. that will be good.

that they funneled hundreds of thousands into the campaign. >> the dimensions of what was disclosed make it implausible to me he didn't know or engaged in willful blindness. he should have known, but even all of that aside, the fact is that the legitimacy of his election has been undercut. i have watched steadiless as the confidence of the people has been eroded. i said in my statement that i released today that i would ask him as a matter of public service to step aside. >> he's told us that he doesn't intend to step aside, even with the two council members saying so. the voteser were deceived. yesterday the u.s. attorney said if you are guilty of something, you should come forward now rather than wait for us to come after you.

d.c. councilwoman mary cheh. what topped to 911 service after a powerful storm created a state of emergency. northern virginia leaders put verizon representatives on the spot today, asking what caused that failure. news4's jackie bensen has the story. >> reporter: without 911 for days last week, tens of thousands of northern virginiaance were asked to flag down a cop if they needed emergency help. >> i have a grandma who is by herself, and she knows if she could reach anybody, you know, that's kind of a bad things. it's obviously not acceptable. hours into the june 29thth storm which caused record havoc, the 911 system, the way we call for
