an international manhunt for a father of who who kidnapped his kids in maryland and fled to tunisia. the scorching summer heat is coming back. the calls for mayor gray's resignation are growing louder tonight. >> three council members are demanding he step down. erika gonzalez joins us from outside the wilson building with the latest. >> reporter: the issue tonight is whether or not mayor vincent gray knew about the shadow campaign. some council members are saying how could he not have known? it was $650,000. the mayor says it doesn't matter who asks for his resignation, he is not going anywhere. >> first of all, i'm not doing that. >> reporter: amidst the calls for resignation by three of his peers, the mayor is adamant about letting the facts evolve. >> are the walls closing in, sir

>> it's hard to miss $650,000. >> reporter: that's one side of the coin and jack evans says he is not calling for the resignation. and marion barry says i'm not going to comment because it is inappropriate in the midst of a federal investigation and you have the chairman who tells us i did speak with gray earlier today but didn't say in regards to what but says that the fact that three council members have asked for his resignation is quote, unquote, premature. erika gonzalez, news4. tonight, nbc news learned jesse jackson jr. is receiving intensive medical treatment at a facility in arizona. what exactly that treatment is for is a mystery. the congressman's office said is it a mood disorder but a family friend says that the congressman's problems are more

complicated that he has severe depression and a problem with alcohol. jackson took a medical leave of absence in june. dangerous discovery as police find a suspected meth lab in culpepper. it started as a domestic violence call. crystal dever and a man were cooking meth in the garage. two boys lived in the home. neighbors had to be evacuated. the couple is accused of child endangerment and drug charges. a man has been added to the fbi's most-wanted list. the father of two kid napd his children during a visit in november and took off for tunisia. shomari stone has more. >> reporter: the three-year-old and six-year-old are not spending summer vacation in

fairfax county but in tunisia. the fbi says their father kidnapped them from prince george's county in november. tonight he is a wanted fugitive. >> we have the kidnapping of two children who were taken outside the country. >> reporter: the children's mother said she flew to tunisia to search for the kids. after the couple's divorce proceedings, the father was awarded visitation rights. he picked up the children from their grandparents house and he and the kids boarded a plane and flew to germany and landed in tunisia. he allegedly told their mother he is not bringing them back. a federal judge issued a warrant for his arrest. >> have you seen your children in tunisia. >> i see them at their father's parents home. >> reporter: but the government won't allow her to fly them back

to the u.s. >> the decision in our court case that is pending any moment now and i expect everything to be in our favor. >> reporter: the fbi launched a manhunt. she says she has not seen the father. now special agents are working with the state department and are in contact with tunisian authorities. >> we will track you down and bring you back to the united states. >> reporter: at fbi headquarters in northwest i'm shomari stone, news4. tomorrow a potentially damaging report will be relosed on penn state university's actions in the investigation on jerry sandusky. the probe was led by louie free. it is expected to detail how the university and joe paterno responded to sex abuse allegations against sandusky. today the family released a letter written by the coach. paterno tried to separate the actions sandusky from the

achievements of the football team. the report is expected at 9:00 tomorrow morning. chris gourd listen have live reports on the findings and the reaction on the campus all day tomorrow on news4. now to the flood fallout. some d.c. residents are blaming the city for not doing enough to prevent flooding during the downpour last night. people in the bloomingdale neighborhood saw some of the worst of it. sewage overflowed on to the streets and into homes. >> coming up through the toilet and the sewage, through both the front and the background drains. >> all these houses every time it floods the foundation gets unsettled. it's one thing to say sorry. but we have to fix it. >> >> reporter: the d.c. water officials say that the drainage system is part of a multi-billion-dollar project to reduce flooding. in the aftermath of the

storm, much of northern virginia's 911 crashed. in a special session of the council of governments, leaders demanded answers about what caused the system to fail for days. residents were told to flag down passing police officers or go to a fire station for help. a verizon representative said this the problem is complicated. >> three things occurred. we lost commercial power to network elements in our network. we had widespread damage to the network elements as well. we had mechanical favorable in some of our redundant systems. >> even the solution of burying power lines underground will not solve the problem completely. no storms in sight but change is coming. doug is here to let us know when the heat returns. >> the good news it's not in the next couple days. we will have to wait a few. out there right now it is simply gorgeous. 80 degrees in the airport. winds out of the southeast at 10

the african-american community, you are looking at him. you take a look. >> president obama's not addressing the convention this year. in 2008, he won 95% of the african-american vote. there was a symbolic vote on capitol hill to repeal president obama's health care law the republican led house voted to scrap the controversial measure but it has no chance of pass able in the senate. the vote comes two weeks after the supreme court ruled the law constitutional. lawyers for the virginia man who fired shots at the pentagon want a court ordered mental health exam. he pleaded guilty to a series of shootings in 2010. no one was hurt. in his plea deal he agreed to that 25 year sentence. but his lawyers requested an evaluation claiming he is schizophrenic. it is unclear if that could impact his plea. he is settle to be sentenced on

a team from the national transportation safety board will try to figure out what led to a train derailment in ohio. it happened just north of downtown columbus. 16 train cars carrying 90 thousand gallons of ethanol burst into flames. authorities evacuated dozens of people within a one-mile radius. two people suffered minor injuries. a video shows a man flying through the open sunroof of his car. and the man walked away from this perfectly fine. the accident happened in central england. the man was arguing with his girlfriend moments for the

vehicle hit a wall, flipped and crashed into someone's yard. you see the guy fly out of the top of the car, gets up and walks away. the girlfriend was unhurt. christen chenoweth was rushed to the hospital tonight. she was filming in brooklyn and something fell and hit her. early reports are that the wind blew a piece of lighting equipment and the light hit her and she fell to the ground, hitting her head on the concrete. you hear about people looking for a lost puppy or kitten. but a family in arlington is looking for a baby python. ava rigs had her snake happy with her yesterday while playing with her brother and sister. the snake looks like this one -- another one that the family owns. her mom says that happy slithered off while the kids had

the southeast at 10 miles an hour. the temperatures showing 75 in leesburg, 77 in baltimore. 80 in annapolis. and right now in fredericksburg coming in at 72 degrees. what are we seeing? storm 4 radar, nothing to talk about. things are all calm at this hour. that's the way they will stay. overnight today and tomorrow we had a few thunderstorms developing to the north and in the mountains and down to the south. now we're just seeing some clouds making their way in from time to time. partly to mostly cloudy. the clouds are of the mid to high level variety. warm temperatures are going to continue. you know that. that boundary to the south will stay to the south tomorrow. the high pressure anchored over the area will keep the boundary south for at least the next two days. we still have an area of high pressure and a chance of showers trying to make their way in on

friday. this boundary, however will not stay south for long. it moves back up into the region on saturday and then the heat starts to build in again. mostly clear tomorrow morning. 64 to 73 degrees. light winds out there. tomorrow afternoon, not bad at all. mostly sunny, low humidity. a great afternoon. high temperatures, 86 to 90 degrees. light winds across the area. as we move through the next couple days, down at the beaches not bad at all. i think you are looking at a great, thursday, friday and saturday although a good chance of rain on saturday. it will not be an all day rain. don't think you can't go to the beaches whether it's ocean city or dewey beach or bethany. all are looking good for the next couple days. inland, 88 on friday. 38% chance of showers to the south and west. the best chance looks like saturday afternoon. 92 on saturday, 94 on sunday.

officials at this bank in austria might want to tighten up security just a bit. a wild pig roamed through the bank. it pushed through the sliding glass doors and let itself out. the bank officials said they wouldn't have known the pig was there except for the scuff marks on the doors. a would be robber in mississippi was busted by his own mother. video shows roy mitchell picking up chips and acting like he was getting ready to pay. when the cashier opens the register he pulls out a gun. mitchell's mom was in the store at the time. she walked up to the front and snatched the toy gun out of his hand and yelled at him to get
