is to reestablish the tradition of penn state pride. chris gordon, news4. for more, watch michael isikoff's story on "nbc nightly news" tonight. a police officer under investigation for allegedly making threatening remarks against first lady michelle obama. he apparently made the threats monday morning. the secret service confirms that they have been notified of the incident as well. the officer has been put on administrative duty now while the internal affairs investigation is conducted. both drivers involved in an early morning head-on crash are in serious conditions. their vehicles collided just after 3:00 on indian head drive. police say one vehicle veered off the road. there were no passengers in

either vehicle. sheriff james dunning has died. family members told police he died in hilton head, south carolina, in his sleep. he retear after the high-profile murder of his wife. the case has never been solved, and the investigation remains open. an autopsy will be performed on james dunning to determine a cause of death. he was 62 years old. first on 4:00 tonight, a shock for customers in a prince george's county nail salons. the police raided the business, and led the manicurists away in handcuffs. investigators believe the technicians raked in a load of money behind these windows, but not just doing nails. they're accused of running an international theft ring out of that salon. news4's pat collins is live on the seen in capitol heights. >> reporter: it's just not something you see every day, a police raid of a nail salon. they say they were exporting

stolen stuff there. stuff like tide. you are watching the raid of the star nail salon in capitol heights. five nail technicians arrested and charged with theft. caught in a police sting. investigators say the suspects knowingly bought stolen products, and then resold them to people in vietnam. the raid caught a number of women customers in the midst of their manicures. tell me what it was like. >> it was nightmare on elm street. you would think it was a play or something. >> reporter: tell me what happened. >> we were just in there getting our nails done, and they just came in and raided. >> reporter: what did they say? >> get on the ground. we got on the ground. >> reporter: in the back room, some of the stuff they say they've been dealing with. razor blades, fragrances, and, of course, the ever-popular

investigations, more raids, and more arrests. live in prince george's county, pat collins, news4. metro officials told the metro board today they may create new procedures for operating during a heat wave. the heat's been blamed for the derailment on the green line last friday. no one was injured, but the rails nears the west hyattsville station were damaged when three cars jumped the track. investigators believed the hot weather caused those tracks to become misaligned form the new policy would set guidelines for operating during future he waves. one maryland senator wants to stop the utility companies to charge a fee. maryland allows power companies to charge a fee for the first 24 hours after a storm that causes major outages. today senator frosh said it's unfair because it makes customers pay for services they

nearly 24 hours is finally out after that freight train derailed. it happened yesterday morning form the train carrying ethanol jumped the tracks and burst into flames. the national transportation safety board is looking into the accident. they found the train was traveling below the recommended speed just before the derailment. operators did not notice any problems with the tracks, as they approached the curve where it happened. hillary clinton is heading to cairo this weekend, part of a diplomatic push to keep egypt's fragile democracy on track. her visit comes in the middle of a standoff. >> reporter: u.s.s secretary of state is expected to arrive on seared afternoon where she's expected to hot meetings with senior egyptian officials. among the host of topics to be discussed are the bilateral

with winds out of the society, around the rest of the area, starting to drop, back towards the winchester area, we're looking at temperatures. up towards martins burg, 84 in the pactuxent river. no rain out there, but we will see that chance of rain increase. about a 30% chance tomorrow. and a few showers back into portions of west virginia -- eastern portions of kentucky, and extreme western virginia. we'll be watching those showers try to make their way up here during tomorrow, but i think most will remain off to the west and down to the south. if you're traveling those direction, you might want to watch out for a few showers, but saturday, however, we are going to see a pretty good chance for rain move in, so watch out for the rain. do not cancel any plans on saturday, but once again, we will see a chance of rain, tomorrow morning just a chance

morehan a decade. the probe found that officials didn't take action because they feared bad publicity. james dunning has died. family members say he died in his sleep. 9 sheriff retired from the sheriff's department back in 2003 after his wife was murdered. that case has never been solved, and an investigation remains open. dunning was 62. a slew of new evidence was reliesed in the tray von martin murder case. the special prosecutor released photographs of martin's hoodie. also released several calls. including the 911 call. zimmerman faces second-degree murder charges for the february shooting. he maintains he did it in self-defense. now to the campaign scanned an surrounding vincent gray, while the mayor fights back, district residents are weighing in on whether they feel the mayor should step down.
