collingwood road in alexandria are closed. at least one dc police officer has been disciplined for reportedly making a threat against first lady michelle obama, and more punishments might be coming. the officer allegedly said he would take out the first lady in a roll kal meeting. another officer heard the comment and told the supervisor. internal investigators are looking into it. two richmond police officers are out of work after it's believed they made threats against the first family. they made the comments to the last rip to richmond in may. they will not reveal those comments, secret service agents determine there was no criminal wrong doing, but the two were fire for conduct unbecoming of

. the man who helped produce films like "jaws" has died. richard zanuck died last night. he produced close to 40 movies in his career. he was 77 years old. 36-year-old sage stallone was found dead with prescription drugs in his ohm, but no word on if they had a role in his death. this morning, the man charged with killing an unarmed florida teen is asking for a new judge. the attorneys say the current

judge is biassed and made disparaging remarks about zimmerman. he suggested zimmerman was guilty of other crimes for misleading the court about money he raised online. the filing says that zimmerman fears he won't get a fair trial. prosecutors say they object to the question and will respond on monday. >> school officials at penn state are still discussing what to do with joe paterno's statute outside the football stadium. they have renovated the lockerrooms and showers where jerry sandusky abused little boys. some people suggest giving them the death penalty which would end football at the school for at least a couple seasons. >> this morning, a fugitive father accused of kidnapping his kids from their grandmother gave

cooler weather. 68 in hagerstown. 75 in fredericksberg. 73 as you go towards bristo, virginia. temperatures in the 70s. we'll break out see a little sunshine and late morning or early afternoon. and another chance for showers later in the evening and afternoon. what about ocean city, maryland? 77 degrees at the baek now, there will be a chance for thunderstorms at the beaches today as well, then i think things will dry out and another chance for a thunderstorm into the late night hours. rain chances will linger for today and much of the weekend. the heaviest sell we have been following is following root 50 headed out to the eastern shore, and there are a few sprinkles towards petersberg and west

virginia. more rain showers across the western carry lie in as. all of this going around a large ridge of high pressure and along the top ridge there. that ridge builds in and the rain chances will go northbound as we go through the weekend and into early next week. as the warm front lifts up, not only do we get chances for today and tomorrow, but as it goes through, it alouses the warmer air to come in as well. so by monday, tuesday, wednesday, that industrial strength heat may be coming back. not for as long as last time, but it won't feel to anyone. mostly cloudy, passing showers this morning, and a chance for a few thunder showers later this afternoon. tomorrow, lower chance for rain, extra sunshine, it will still be a mostly cloudy day, and as a result of the extra sun we should be in the mid-90s

more upsetting news for the kennedy family this morning, kerry kennedy is behind bars and charged with driving while impaired by drugs. police say they found the 52-year-old passed out behind the wheel. she was driving erratically and

but no watch out, right? >> no. the sunshine is making an appearance now, and we'll get more and more shoouns through the rest of this morning and into this afternoon. that is welcome news. but the daytime heating out there we'll have a chance for showers later on today, but not a wash out today, and not a wash out tomorrow. that being said, key an eye on the sky and be ready for another little chance of rain showers before today is through. all of the humidity will be turned into clouds and rain drops by later on today. outside we go, a very cloudy start first thing this morning, but if you're looking west instead of knot on this picture you could see the blue skies breaking out. you in western parts of fairfax are starting to see the sun now. the shine is shining pretty brightly in spots. 71 now in washington. relative humidity is still 81%.

real humid outside this morning, and that will lead to more shower chances later in the day. 80 degrees in st. mary's county. 73 in culpepper. the showers are becoming fewer and fewer in number here as we go through the rest of this morning. they're mainly just partly to mostly cloudy, warm and humid this afternoon, but after 2:00 or 4:00, the chance for showers returns. what about bethesda, another chance for a shower storm rolling around. and tomorrow, i think once again, just like today, we'll have a chance for showers but fewer chances tomorrow than today, and fewer chances on monday than tomorrow. there it is on the radar. there is one thunderstorm now rolling out on to parts of the eastern shore. a few sprinkles left.

folks out towards west virginia. a lot of rain across parts of the ohio valley and they can get every drop in the state of indiana -- indianapolis has had less than an inch of rain in the last 45 straight days. for us, this warm front is the leading edge of the humidity and the higher levels of heat that will be coming back starting tomorrow. it is bringing our needed shower chances for the weekend even though we don't like to see rain on the weekends. the heat and the humidity will be increasing as we get the new week started. today, more clouds an anything else, passing showering still a possibility and chances for thunderstorms this afternoon. the cooler start will leave us in the 08s today. upper 80s to near 90 tomorrow with a smaller chance for rain today. tomorrow's rain chance 50% back down to 30% for monday, and that
