gunfire in capital heights leaves one woman dead and another injured this evening. the unusual circumstances that led to the shoot-out. good evening, everybody. i'm jim ahead until tonight for jim rosenfield, we begin with a violent night in prince georges county. an argument at a club ends with two people shot, one dead. happened in the 2600 block of heath avenue in capital heights. police are still looking for the gunman. >> reporter: the incident ended here in the parking lot of an international house of pancakes. a but let riddled suv taken from

the scene as evidence. it stems from a shooting, part of a deadly scenario that began at a local club. police got involved with a call to the neighborhood. >> just after 6:00 a.m. this morning. officers responded to the 4600 block of heath street for the sound of gunshots. >> the victim had been there to drop someone off and that they were confronted by an acquaintance, that acquaintance had gotten into an argument with one victim at a club in the area and caught up with the two women on heath street. pris did not find the victims but a subsequent call to 911 led officers to them. >> two gunshot victims located in the 900 block of central avenue. we found two adult females suffering from gunshot wounds. >> according to police, the driver sped from the scene of the shooting to the restaurant. they came here, because there had been an earlier arrangement to meet other tez restaurant. another call placed to police

reporting a pair of shooting victims. >> one transported to a local hospital, the other was pronounced dead on scene. >> reporter: minutes later it was back to normal. the sunday morning crush was here, folks unaware of what transpired hours before. an investigation runs full bore to find the killer. >> we're investigating the incident as a domestic violeiol incident. we believe we'll have a quick closure. a freak accident today. an elderly woman run over and killed by her own car at st. edwards church. happened just before mass this morning. the woman got out of the car, thinking it was in park, but it was actual until reverse. the door of the car knocked her down and then the car ran over her. she was pronounced dead at the hospital. the nll lockout officially began at midnight. capital players still practiced this morning and went to

alexandria for the grand opening of the brand new playground. players, including brooks helped put together equipment and get this playground ready in oldtown. 200 volunteers pitched in. we asked about the lockout and whether they are optimistic about a deal. >> we understand why we are where we are and the process we're going through. you know, weary terrible optimists. we know something has to be done. nobody wins if we don't play. >> nhl owners want to reduce the players' share of league revenue. with training camps and early season games in jeopardy, many players, including the caps' alex ovechkin are expected to play overseas now. a great finish to a great weekend. the party is about to end. storm team 4's chuck bell is here with the first word on the

happening right now in chicago, a meeting is under way today that could end the week-long teachers's strike in the third largest school district in the country. leaders from the chicago public schools and teacher's union reached a tentative deal on friday. a vote tonight could bring back 400,000 students to school tomorrow, but sources say many teachers are not happy with the deal. and it could still be rejected. the biggest issue to be resolved has to do with teacher
