an update now on the breaking news at the top of our newscast. prince george's police officers shot someone in the 800-block of southern avenue in southeast washington. matt jablow has now arrived there so we'll get the story from him. matt. >> reporter: derek, here is what we have right now. it happened just about an hour ago here in the 800-block of southern avenue southeast as you said. a prince george's county police officer shot a suspect just about an hour ago as i said. about 10:10 tonight. the suspect was taken to a local hospital. the extent of his injuries not known at the time. we also don't know what led to the shooting. we're doing our best to gather more information and just as soon as we have any more information we will be sure to pass it along. of course we should know a lot more about exactly what led to the shooting and the condition of the suspect starting tomorrow
