doesn't happen again. >> tonight, two mobile officers are in stable condition. that accident in ohio did not affect the first lady's schedule this evening. the two officers sideswiped each other as the first lady was traveling to the airport in columbus. no one else was injured. none of the other secret service vehicles was involved. >> president obama and mitt romney are spending another night in seclusion pred pairing f for their second debate. the president was impressed with the quarterback's performance. mitt romney held mach town halls. >> a lot of pressure going into that debate tomorrow. two new polls of likely voters shows the race is dead even.

her attorney is exploring legal options. >> there is growing. >> the luxury retailer recently sent a memo to employees endorsing that legislation. jim rosenfield reports from montgomery mall in bethesda. >> the ceo weighs in on gay marriage as voters out west prepare to decide on a referendum on gay marriage similar to maryland's question 6. >> it's known as referendum 74, asking washington state voters to approve legislation passed erltier this year allowing same-sex marriage. without referring to the upcoming vote, ceo blake nordstrom sent an e-mail to all 56,000 employees late last week saying it is our belief that our gay and lesbian employees are entitled to the same rights and protection marriage provides under the law as our other employees.

university of maryland student. cell phone video captured the incident after umd's basketball victory over duke in 2010. the two are charged with asaulting jonl mckenna whom prosecutors say was merely skipping and singing. the defense says mckenna tried to throw a punch in the middle of a riot. mckenna was clearly unarmed. >> and even though they tried to say he was doing this and that could be a tletenning manner, i think any reasonable person can tell that's absolutely ridiculous. >> he testified saying he didn't remember much. the officers face up to 25 years in prison if they're convicted of assault. tonight, a local teen is recovering from a stab wound after a classmate report dlid attacked him outside the school cafeteria. it happened in northwood high school. the stabbing started with an argument. the victim was taken to the

hospital and is expected to be okay. officers arrested 18-year-old who is charged where second-degree assault. >> police are looking for a guy who held up a shell gas station on annapolis road in buoy. he pointed a shotgun at the clerk and got away with some cash. >> with the meningitis outbreak spreading, the centers for disease control and prevention in atlanta opened this emergency operation center. 214 people are now sick. 15 have died from meningitis, including one pashlt in maryland and one in virginia. the food and drug administration is investigating whether drugs given to patients could be the cause of this outbreak. now, to a warning for pet owners.

. we have a new look tonight at that intense fire that destroyed dozens of self storage units. those flames tore through the store-all facility last night.

85 storage yuunits were scorche. most of their contents wera total loss. one man was in the process of moving says he lost everything he owned. >> it's like the memories, all the pictures, everything, you know, that i got. memories from my kids, it's gone. it's not that you can replace it. >> investigators are still trying to find out what caused that fire. >> tonight, a small seaside community in maine is seeing the names of neighbors, friend and relatives flash across the tv screen making national news. police say alexis wright ran the operation out of her zumba studio. she's accused of taping her video encounters were more than 20 men. a few of them went to court to prevent the name's release only heightening speculation that lawyers and law enforcement officers are among the clients. >> a group of religious leaders is fighting back against the controversial ad being displayed

in several metro staegss. that ad was created by the american freedom defense initiative. it calls on people to support israel. today, the religious coalition called on metro to donate all the money from the ad to charity. that coalition put up its own ad denouncing hate speech. >> snowy scenes bring back bad memories for a lot of people in the district. today, the city got a head start on winter. the city also has a new arsenal of equipment at its disposal. there are new trucks that remember which streets have been plowed and the plow blades themselves are new meant to remove more snow with less noise. still, city leaders say their response depends on the amount of snow that falls. >> up to 18-20 inches of snow, i feel vecomfortable about what w can do.

>> the d.c. area gets about 14.5 inches of snow in a typical year. as we have learned in recent years, it can certainly exceed that. >> it's been feast or famine. a couple years ago, we had well over five times above average. you know, you get over 70 inches one year. i think we're going to get some snow. but our official forecast comes out in about the next three weeks. still crunching the numbers out there? you guys see the numbers out there? take a look at this video that we shot a little bit earlier. this is from a viewer. i want to say thank you very much for sending this in. this is what we call a shelf cloud. you notice a cloud coming at you. this is probably right after the cloud made its way through this area. a beautiful shot this afternoon. i've also got some pictures.

this was aually 12th and u street. once that cloud moves over you, that's when the strong winds come and then the rain comes in. this is another one of those clouds over towards the leesburg area. this is a pretty cool shot. again, very, very nice cloud cover. thank you very much for sending me those pictures on twitter and facebook. you're going to see some wind with it and then some rain coming in after those clouds pass by. for the record today, a high temperature of 72 degrees. a low of 60. that's the current numbers. we're going to continue to go down. about 600ths of an inch of rain. some areas picked up over a half an inch of rain. 60 degrees the current number. wind out of the northwest at 12 miles an hour. that wind is creating a little bit of a chill in the air, not really compared to a couple of days ago when many of us were in the upper 20s.

right nows we're still in the 50s. 55 in leesburg. fredericksburg coming in at 57 degrees. radar, showing the rain that's moved through. this is where the storms came through. this is where those clouds, those really ominous-looking clouds made their way across the region. we did see the heavier storms. some of those storms producing frequent lightning. did not expect any hail or did not expect any severe weather. that's pretty much what we've got. now that they are through in comes the clearing skies. we should clear out very nicely tonight. that's going to lead to cooler conditions when you wake up tomorrow morning. our frontal boundary continues to move on out. we are in for a very nice afternoon tomorrow. you may want to take a late lunch, maybe around 1:00. by 1:00 it's going to be beautiful. 2:00, 3:00, 4:00, a nice day. and then on wednesday, high pressure moves down to the south.

you can take lunch whenever you want? it's going to be nice and mild out there with temperatures into the low 70s. if you liked yesterday, i think wednesday is very similar to what we saw yesterday. 46 in gaithersbu rurks g. 50 down towards pax river. mostly clear skies. not too cold out there. those winds northwest at 10-15 will help give it a little bit of a chill in the air. tomorrow afternoon, take that jacket off. breezy, and a bit cooler. as we move on the next couple of days, look at wednesday, high of 73 -- or rather 70. thursday is looking great. friday is looking pretty good, although a lot of clouds and maybe a slight chance of a shower. saturday and sunday, both looking dry. and temperatures at or above average. so no real cold air. no real heavy rain. again, lunch begins at between

alexander. the redskins secondary gave up more than 300 yards passing but clamped down when they needed to. mike shanahan pleased with the fact that his defense ranks third in the nfl with 14 take aways this season. >> the one thing i think we've always talked about, we've talked about for the last two yiers, and that's turnover ratio. teams that win are teams that are good in the turnover area once you get to the playoffs, the teams that win the super bowl are usually the best in the turnover area. that's always an emphasis and something that we've been talking about the last couple of years. this year, we're a lot more successful in the turnover ratio. >> a few turnovers against the jien giants this weekend, that's for sure. the acc is expected to look a little different.
