about that. temperatures overnight, down to about 60 in washington, 53 in martinsburg. rain likely overnight tonight. by tomorrow afternoon, looking good. highs in the mid-70s all across the region. tomorrow the sun will be back out in the afternoon. guys? this is the xfinity sports desk brought to you by xfinity, your home for the most live sports. carol here for dan hellie. redskins fans excited about this one coming up. >> do you hear that? >> i hear it. >> i don't. what is it? >> the buzz. >> oh, oh, okay. >> all across the nation, everyone's talking about the redskins. six weeks into the nfl season. >> i missed it. >> you need to work on that. >> i'm starting to hear it. >> there's a lot of talk about what to call the skins offense. is it the west coast? the zone read option? yeah. but that's not all they're
6:46 pm
running. you can't do that in headlines. sometimes the skins line up like last week, we saw them in wishbone. others, it's the option. and on occasion, you get to see a more traditional look. the point is, it's ever changing. hard to define. and tough to predict. which is great news as it has led to the skins being the second most prolific offense tied with the giants. now, the bad news, at least from the media, it has no real name, no catchy title. even robert griffin iii isn't sure how it will play out until well after kickoff. >> it's very cliche. every team will say it, but it's just taking what they give us. you can go with the game plan and it can completely change based on a drive or a two series. based on what the defense is doing. our game plans are pretty dense. and we have many things we can do with it. so if they're going to shut one thing down, you move on to another thing. >> every place i've been, they say, what do you call this
6:47 pm
offense? he wanted a name. i said call it the east coast offense. i get tired of answering the question, to be honest with you. we're just experimenting with what robert can do, and having fun with it. hopefully we can keep on executing. >> the skins have been successful so far. the rookie quarterback earned the highest honor one can hope from an opponent, respect. giants defensive end oc was calling griffin bob in the off-season. remember that? he's saying that the rookie hadn't earned his rg3 yet. oc changed his tune today. but he's still not calling him rg3, it's something even more impressive. listen to oc a ten-year vet going on and on about the skins quarterback. >> we know what type of speed he has. but more importantly, he has an arm. he's a good quarterback. this guy's good. they got a real good player on their hands, and we've got a
6:48 pm
problem on ours. >> he's no longer bob? >> his name is sir. sir robert griffin. >> why is that? >> look at what he's done. look at the way he's performed as a rookie. you don't see players coming into the league playing with that arm at that station of their career. he's a phenomenal football player. >> he's the only one? >> yeah. because, you know, i said -- i opened my mouth and said, you're going to call him his name. he's definitely earned it. whatever he wants to be called, he's earned that for sure. >> a lovefest. >> yeah. >> against a division rival. >> he is not happy. >> complimentary. where's the trash talk? >> maybe it's gamesmanship. >> probably. >> actually he seemed genuine in his praise. and who couldn't love rg3 right now. sorry. i'm a fan.
