that i come before you tonight. >> 28-year-old officer, a veteran died when his cruiser crashed into a utility poll. it happened at branch avenue in clinton. he was off duty at the time. police are investigating the possibility that he had been cut off in traffic. >> we have witnesses saying that the officer was cut off and we're not at a point yet to say that's what cause the accident. that's two hours after he got off duty this white suv was also involved. the driver was take on the the hospital with non-life threaten injuries. >> you heard a loud crash and it sounded like an explosion and after that you didn't hear anything. >> police recon trukted the scene to figure out how and why it happened. >> i feel for the family.

police and the fbi are trying to determine a motive. this happened during the busy lunch hour. this video you're seeing only on news 4 shows arlington police taking a man into custody near the courthouse. someone called police saying he smelled like gasoline. he is suspected of throwing a cocktail inside the boston common mall. >> i was going down the escalator and all of the sudden glass just splattered all over town in the food court. >> about five minutes after that i saw police and bomb sniffing dogs. >> police evacuated the mall for more than five hours. >> a search was don for more devices. >> federal agents called in to sweep the area and found three more bottles near where the suspect dropped the first one.

wanted to hit a location, more people would shake the whole country. officers arrested him in a sting operation. stunned family members insist he is not a terrorist. >> in bangladesh, he was not like this. he was a good boy. >> he came to the u.s. to study cyber security in missouri but left school and moved to brooklyn. he is being held tonight without bond. >> a stranger repeatedly broke into an apartment, set up a hidden camera and recorded young women for months. these pictures show the man setting up the camera on montgomery run road. two women in their 20s live here. police say the man has returned several times since june to move the camera so he could see the bedrooms and the bathroom. last month one of the victims found the camera and called police. now neighbors are worried.

right now it's the severe weather that's happening or the strong thunderstorms out there across our area. for the record, this is what we saw out there with a high temperature of 72 degrees. yes we will see rain overnight. that rain may get its way in here tonight. the airport it is 65 degrees. our dew point close to 60. that tells you there is a lot of moisture in the atmosphere. 63, so still very warm. much warmer than she has been. we have showers and thunderstorms coming in across the area. and a brand new warning that was just issued. it does include the town of cullpepper. this area does have some severe capabilities.

here is where the strong storms are here. this one is getting strong, too. look at all of the lightning here. just to the west of the only area. back towards frederick. more thunderstorms here. so if you live in this area. you're getting ready to go to bed you will probably stay awake due to thunder. some fairly heavy downpours here and down to the south farther, down towards madison and orange county we're watching this right here as we will continue to make its way towards the north and east. it could produce hail. we have seen a lot of hail and light ning. watch out if you're going be out and about. these will eventually move into the district. so you will praebl heobably hea there is more down to the south. notice this severe thunderstorm.

we have got a few more to go. as we widen out this area back towards west virginia, nothing, nothing, and then boom. more showers and thunderstorms that will continue to move our way. we are going be in for a little bit of a cool down. showers and thunderstorms all night long. here is what happens tomorrow morning. showers right around the i-95 corrid corridor. so tomorrow morning could be wet. tomorrow afternoon everything clears out of here pretty nicely. could be a slow one for you for your morning commute.
