noon out of the townhouse. chopper 4 flu flew ovew over th. no one was hurt. investigators believe a problem with the chimney or fire place was the cause. and we're still waiting to learn the identities of a mother and daughter, killed early this morning, in falls church. this cell phone video shows flames consuming the front of the house. we do know both victims were hearing impaired and the mother taught at gallaudet university. neighbors tell us tonight the family moved here from florida a couple years ago. the two dogs and eight cats also died in the fire. no word yet on a cause. >> three prince george's county high school students have been killed by gun violence this school year. tonight the communities coming together demanding answers from politicians and police, erica gonzalez is in fort washington with the growing concerns about safety there. erica. >> doreen, tonight some very emotional parents asking some very tough questions on behalf

>> they're threatened at school. it makes you -- it hurts. it hurts me to my heart. >> jones is the third student from pgcps to be killed by gun violence since the school year started. 17-year-old amber stan leley kid in her bedroom in late august. and marcel ross shot to death on the way to school. no arrests have been made in any of the cases. now since marcus' death here at friendly senior high school what they have implemented is additional school resource officer. they now have two sros here. in addition to that they're also contemplating doing earlier start times for their games. they have got one coming up friday. they also have additional security, more patrols in, in the neighborhood. live in fort washington tonight. erica gonzalez, news 4.

>> hearing the 911 call from a man trapped 20 stories in the air. working on this cell tower today when he got so cold he couldn't move. he even had trouble reaching his cell phone. but after several hours, he was able to finally make the call for help. >> you're stuck on a tower? >> yeah. my hand, are completely frozen. i can't get down. and my co-worker he can't rescue me. he is telling me to meet him halfway. >> how high are you? >> 200 feet. 150. i was able to reach in my pocket. finally did after two hours. my hand are come pleatcompletel. his tow worker climbed to the top to rescue him. he tells news 4 he used special ropes to lower them both to the ground like he had been trained. >> on the eve of a report calling into question how rape cases are handled in the district. d.c.'s police chief tonight is

challenging the findings. she tells us tonight information was gathered using flawed method. and that reforms were ignored. the full report is released tomorrowable. tonight, we are hearing from one of the victims who tells us she was mistreated by police and her case mishandled after she says she was sexually assaulted. >> the detective right in front of me told the nurse that i didn't need the exam done. and the nurse to her credit said that that was her job to determine and that i would need to talk with her. i did. the experience of being raped was humiliating it wasn't until i talked to police i felt shamed. >> human rights watch claims over a three year period d.c. police failed to document 170 cases. where an alleged assault took place. they say there were another 35 sex assault cases where reports were filed, but no evidence of a follow-up investigation. today, police chief kathy lanier

video captures a collision between an 18-wheeler and train. it happened in northern vermont yesterday. police say the truck blew through flashing signals warned the train was coming. the crash caused the truck to come dangerously close to the gas station's fuel pumps which would have caused an explosion. amazingly nobody got hurt here.

the truck driver was ticketed. >> a virginia man arrested for having an inappropriate relationship with a girl he never met. investigators tell us he found the 14-year-old on facebook. police claim 18-year-old brian mccool of woodbridge sent the girl inappropriate messages. her family discovered them and called police. mccool has been charged to night with indecent liberties with a child. >> high-profile athletes caught at the center of a catfishing scandal. first manti te'o. now redskins' players admit they were fooled by a woman with a fake online identity. reaction from an alleged victim. >> she was a redskins fan. i was a redskins fan. >> this man says it was their common interest in the redskins that prompted him to connect online with a woman using red-ridn hood. direct messages from her on his cell phone. >> started following her in
