under a winter weather advisory. >> let's go to veronica johnson. what can we expect here in this area? >> well, here we won't get much in the way of any wintry weather. we're looking at mostly rain, a system for us that will start as rain around 2:00 to 3:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. mostly rain for us, but we can't at the tail end of this system when it starts making its way out of the area, we could see gusts up to 50 miles an hour. as far as areas around new york city, they could get upwards of a foot of snow. snow and wind as the system gets off the coast and really starts affecting the northeast. in new england it's a full-out blizzard with 1 to 2 feet of snowfall. you're looking at the start times here. for us, it's friday morning as rain. for areas around new york, it's friday early afternoon. they by friday evening, up into eastern new england. again, significant travel delays for the northeast, probably all out coming to a spot in areas.

so just a newsens storm for us, but a full-out blizzard with high winds, a lot of snow, and big-time snow drifts occurring throughout areas of new england. it's not just one storm, but two storms. area of low pressure down to the south. another area of low pressure off to the west around chicago, that will both start merging just as they get past us to the northeast. so we'll never get that merging occurring right here. take a look at storm team 4 radar, quiet, nothing good on right now. the snow or rain will start here for us. areas that could see just a bit of a wintry mix with snow, maybe some freezing rain where those advisories are up. it starts at 4:00 a.m., going until 10:00 a.m. off to the west tomorrow morning, a slight chance where it could be just icy aroun our area. you're looking at the temperatures, as they'll cool on down by 2:00 a.m., 35 degrees. we'll talk about this storm system, what it means to the

tonight we are awaiting autopsy results on a man who held a 5-year-old boy hostage for nearly a week. his body was removed last night from the underground bunker. the deputy coroner was allowed into the bunker before the body was removed. he said sykes died from multiple wounds. a tree trimmer injured today in a freak doesn't near camden, new jersey. check out this video. a large crain attached to a truck somehow tipped over while parked on the street there. the crain landed between two houses. the truck was suspended several feet in the air. a worker was in the bucket when it we want down. he fell out and landed on the roof of a house. he was taken to the hospital and expected to be okay.

lot of cold air that soon will be spilling in. well, we don't have that happening right now. by the time we get to tomorrow morning when the moisture starts coming over us, it will be a small area off to the west where there could be some precipitation. loudoun cow areas all the way down to the south, and up to the north just west of frederick, with there's a possible of freezing rain. we're mostly cloudy, then rain start soon, from 38 to 37 degrees. i think our rain will be starting here around 2:00 to 3:00 a.m. in the morning. there's d.c., there's the northern edge. you can really see again the storms that -- with one coming up from the north. you can see on the northern fringe, as i mentioned frederick county down through western areas of louding county, around fauquier county, the possibility of snow mixing in with freezing

rain and sleet for tomorrow morning. the storm systems won't merge until early saturday morning. so we'll have rain with this system moving out very quickly. we could see some -- to 30 miles per hour, but saturday with that colder air rushing in, once any merge, it's snow for us just wrapping around, but a lot of snow for areas to the northeast and up around new england. watch the snow totals come in on the tail end, we could see between 1 to 2 inches of snowfall here. i don't think it's going to be a big deal, but get into new york city, you're talking about over 15 inches, get into providence, boston, upwards of 2 feet of snow, possibly 30 inches of snow on top of that. a tremendous amount of wind, so we could be seeing drifts up in eastern new england around 4 to 5 feet possibly, as windy as it will be. the gusts for the northeast could be maxing out here on saturday asp around 40 miles per

here. megan mcgrath -- lorten, rather. >> reporter: the sub shop is closed and will be for quite some time. crews have come and boarded up the windows that were blown out. the fire department has put up a sign saying the area is unsafe for occupancy. investigators say this explosion was intentional. this was no accident. the big question is, who did it and why? the blast blew out the windows of the sub shop. owner lawrence reece was just outside unloading supplies from his car. reece was seriously burned, but was able to speak to news4 from his hospital bed. he says, the explosion caught him completely by surprise. >> i don't have a -- i tried to look back inside the

elevated surfaces tomorrow morning. there's a possibility there could be some sleet and a bit of snow to make for slick conditions. again, a winter weather advisory 4:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. tomorrow, all these counties shaded in purple. you can see it does go right up to the northeast, frederick, westminster, to which parts of 70 and 270. so two accident areas of low pressure. for us it's this area of low pressure that will hit us first. so we'll get the rain out of it. the second area of low pressure, by the time it merges with this first off the coast, will help to give us that snowfall. friday late, early saturday morning. where we could see some gusts late in the day, up to 30 miles an hour, and then 40-mile-per-hour wipd gusts on saturday. college park at 40 degrees, 42 fort belvoir. and around sterling, that's our

here's the latest. >> reporter: it's the first flight of boeing 787 dreamliner when two battery flyers, did i and i have jails authorities in the u.s. and around the world. after a paint job in dallas, boeing got permission from the faa to return this plane to washington state to get it ready for delivery to the largest airline in china. while in washington, d.c., ntsb chairman debby hurzman said investigators think they know what caused the fires. >> this investigation has demonstrated that a short circuit in a single cell can propagate to adjacent cells and result in smoke and fire. >> but they can't explain yet why there's a short circuit. hurzman says it will be weeks before an interim report is ready, which means the grounding will continue to last at least

well-begin with doug cammerser. you see it coming up through north carolina, up the coast. two storms, one down across the southeast, another coming across the chicagoland area, the great lakes. those two systems will come together and it will mean one monster storm. for us it will be a glancing blow. a winter storm warning in the pink. and out towards boston, those are blizzard warnings and watching for the potential for nonblizzard conditions, maybe one to two to three. we could see this start off as shall sleet late
