the remote is the thing that most couples fight about. you know what's germy? the remote. it's one of the germaniest things. >> when you check into a hotel, like we're going to this weekend, right -- you -- what do you do? >> i don't know what you do. i guess you wear gloves and push the buttons. okay. here -- this is "prevention" magazine looked at the objects that are the most germ-laden, and some you probably haven't thought of. the restaurant menu. they hand it to you. it's plasticy, and you hold it. what are you supposed to do? nothing. lemon wedges. because they cut them up. >> the chefs are wearing gloves back there and glasses. >> maybe they take the lemon wedges. what about the ones you don't use? they don't throw them away, do they? >> i think once something is put at the table you're supposed to not e -- >> how about condiment dispensers? ketchup pump? you know you're using that and no one is purelling.

you've got a child now. would you want them to go into the business? >> i wouldn't push her to do it, and i am sure my mother could probably say the same thing. things change. it's harder now. it is harder. the social media. >> i can't take it. i can't take it. how old is she? >> 2 1/2 now. >> what's the best part about being a mom, do you think? >> just the abundance of love i have for this child. it's like you feel that way when you first meet your husband, of course, and then it becomes even more so when you have a kid. >> how has he changed since she was born? >> i always knew he was going to be a great dad, and it's true. he is an amazing father. >> was that picture your birthday party? >> it was just my birthday last week. >> it was? what did you wish for? >> i'm just wishing for her to be a happy, fun kid and be healthy and all of that. having good experiences. >> the world we bring children into now, no matter if they're in show biz or not, all this cyber stuff and all this -- >> it's scary. >> she opened my phone when she was, like, a year old.

boomers have about almost three-quarters of the wealth in this country. >> wow. >> boomers spend on consumer goods annually -- by boomers i'll define them people 50s and 60s. >> why do advertisers -- >> spend $2 trillion annually on consumer goods. >> so -- >> why do advertisers go for the young kids then? >> so one of the panels that is part of this program, one of the networks, researchers, is a giant in the field, points out that the sweet spot that we're all familiar with, the 18 to 49, and, by the way, it was created because of baby boomers. >> that used to be the sweet spot. >> it is a shrinking demographic. even the again gen-xers are five years from starting to turn 50. 18 to 49 is a shrinking demographic, and he asked rhetorically why would you continue marketing to a demographic that you know is getting smaller?

>> what is the answer? >> dying off. >> i think the answer is that people are re-evaluating who is out there and -- >> who has the disposable income. >> and who is spending it. people who are 50 and 60 buy four times the tablets, for instance, and technology than 20 to 29-year-olds. >> that's one of the myths that they're not technology savvy. >> three-quarters of us are on the internet, and one-third are heavy users. we use it to shop. we use it to learn things, and we really use it to stay connected. this idea of connectedness and community. >> i think people get stuck in their ways of buying, and they keep buying the same products. >> that's another myth. >> that was our parents. we have far more in common with our kids and a closer affinity with our kids, who are sometimes still living with us -- >> some don't have the opportunities financially that we did. >> no, they don't. oftentimes -- someone called us not the sandwich generation, but the club sandwich.

natan, an expert in kraug magna. >> how do you pronounce it? >> kraug magna. >> welcome, guys. >> sometimes attackers see you as vulnerable just because of the way you're walking. by the way you're carrying yourself. >> first of all, if you are a woman, do you think? >> the posture matters. >> first of all, the mindset is the most important thing. in any type of situation, if you are going to be attacked, any emergency, have you to have a will that says i'm going to survive, and i will survive. you need to carry yourself in that same way. >> walking down the street -- >> most people in new york are looking at their smartphone. they're looking at -- they have earbuds in. >> looking around. >> tourists looking at the buildings. >> you need to be aware. you need to be looking around, see what's going on around you. make eye contact with folks. you know, carry yourself confidently and don't look like a victim. don't slouch. don't look like someone that somebody would want to go after. >> you can avoid it most of the time. >> some things in your purse that you may have may be good weapons, and i have a lot in my purse. >> a bowling ball would really come in handy. >> absolutely. you got to be willing to do whatever it takes to survive that attack. simple things like a pen. you want to go for areas that cause pain.

for the eyes, for the nose, for the throat. soft tissue areas where it's going to cause damage. you don't want to do that, but you also don't want to be the victim. >> what about your keys? >> keys, same principle. put it in your hand. go for those soft tissue areas. go for the ears. >> ears. >> things like that. >> again, things that are going to cause a lot of pain. >> what about perfume? >> this might not be as quick, but just like pepper spray, go to the eyes and use it to again hit the face. there's a lot of different things you can do. again, you don't -- you're going home at the end of the day, you know? you don't want to hurt somebody, but you have to do what you have to do to survive that attack. >> what about your vocal cords? scream. zble. >> very very important. >> police officers are taught the very first line in the use of force is to use your voice. you have to be loud, direct, and authoritative. you have to keep somebody away from you. get back! leave me alone! help! any of those things, really loud, authoritative and direct. a lot of times it will stop them. >> show us some easy things. show us what you got. >> kraug maga. so we have a couple of moves.
