the lobby. now to a developing story out of prince georges county. police found a man's body in the median of a major highway. they discovered him unconscious near kenneth worth avenue. medics pronounced the man dead at the scene. his body is now with the state medical examiner to determine what happened. police have not identified the victim. a passenger on a united flight is restrained after claiming he poisoned everyone on board. the flight was on its way to liberty, new york, from hong kong. the man was apprehended and taken into custody. there is news today about the government's controversial internet surveillance program called p.r.i.s.m. apple says state and local authorities filed between 4 and 5,000 requests for consumer data

in the past six months. trying to prevent suicides, according to apple, the company is not allowed to disclose how many of those requests fell directly under the p.r.i.s.m. program. president obama is nearing the end of a long day at the g-8 summit in ireland. one of his top priorities at the summit is a one-on-one meeting with vladimir putin to try to reach an agreement on how to move forward with syria. putin supports bashar al assad and while we and our allies are trying to help the opposition. while the two disagreed, they won't want to stop the violence in syria. >> with respect to syria, we have different perspectives on the problem but we share in reducing the violence and securing chemical weapons. >> another major item involves trade. the u.s. and european union are beginning official negotiations

on a trade pact. meanwhile, first lady michelle obama and malia and sasha are also in ireland discovering more about their family heritage. they visited trinity college in dublin and were able to see the birth registry of his great, great, great grandfather once worked as a shoe maker in a village there. watches her daughters trace their roots from the south side of chicago to ireland was a powerful experience. the supreme court struck down a controversial voting requirement in arizona today. justices revealed that the state cannot require voters to show proof of their citizenship when they vote. the vote was 7-2. pete williams is joining us now from the supreme court. who are the winners and losers in this decision? >> reporter: well, let me hold that one in advance. it's more complicated than it appears. let's do the simple part first.

this involves the 20-year-old motor voter law. you can register when you get your license but also you can register to vote by mail. there's a federal form and on it it says to check this box if you're a u.s. citizen and then at the bottom you sign the form to say that you told the truth. arizona went further to say that you have to show proof that you are a u.s. citizen, your naturalization documents, something. civil rights groups sued. they said it's intended to suppress the votes of legal immigrants. the state responded by saying that they are trying to reduce voter fraud. supreme court ruled that the federal law is supreme here. congress can change those rules. it gets the last word and, therefore, what air zone has done here goes beyond motor voter and cannot do it. what the supreme court said arizo

arizona loses in the short term but could come back and try this again because while the congress gets the last word on how elections are conducted, the supreme court majority said the states get the last word on who is eligible to vote. so this may invite a whole new round of lawsuits about states trying to rein in voter fraud. >> what are the other big cases that the justices will decide before the end of the current session and when? do we know? >> the which i can tell you. the when i can't. we know we'll get decisions next monday. we'll probably get them some other day next week. we're still waiting for the big ones. on same-sex marriage, the prop 8 in california and federal defensive marriage act, affirmative action in school admissions and the future of the most important civil rights law ever passed the voting rights action. >> 'tis the season down there. pete williams, thanks so much. >> you bet. we're hearing exclusively

how do we know it's not some girl or whatever. and i'm like, no one else would hack into my e-mail address. >> reporter: johnson invited strange men to kick down her door and have sex with her. he didn't stop there. he also posted prices online for sex with her three daughters and the 2-year-old son they had together. a year later, she is still contacting websites and trying to clear her name. >> i think there's still a black planet. >> johnson also called and e-mailed his ex-wife while he got time in jail for violating the stay away order. >> no one wanted to help me until he wrote the letter as if he already killed me and it was found. >> reporter: johnson's e-mail said, i gave her all of the chances to not let it get this far so she refused so her blood is not on my hands. i.p. addresses and usernames

accident left her a pair pa leej jik. it's a new day, a new life for this 38-year-old woman. this set of wheels, a far cry from what she's used to. she was on her favorite red motorcycle last june when the derecho would forever change her life. >> the wind was pushing the bike between my thighs and i'm like, wow, it's super windy out here. >> she was in meridian park west when a tree crashed down on her. >> i don't remember anything else. they said, ma'am, a free fell on you. >> itself vered her spinal cord and left her paralyzed. >> i wasn't being careless. i was being careful. i was just going home. it wasn't raining. it just happened. a crazy amount of wind happened and it crushed ze it's been a year of intense physical therapy both inside the hospital and

academy has decided to move forward with proceedings in a sex assault case. that case last year involved football players and a female. the assault allegedly took place at an off-campus house in aannapolis. the victim's mother accused navy investigators of dragging their feet in this case. the case will be sent to article 32 proceedings. that's the military equivalent of a preliminary hearing or grand jury injunction. the congress and president have focused on recent military sex assaults and how to prevent the assaults. the names of the accused football players of the naval academy have not been released and we do not know the specific charges against them. the redskins are trying out new technology to enhance their kicking game. not your typical plane here in chantilly, virginia.

a murder-suicide investigation is under way here at skyline towers in false church. police found a man and woman shot to death in a unit on the 21st floor. neighbors heard a woman scream and then gunshots. the g-8 summit is under way. the u.s. and russia are not coming to terms on syria. president obama and vladimir putin met for two hours in northern ireland. afterwards they both acknowledged that they want to see an end to the violence but do not agree on how to bring that out. >> the supreme court voted 7-2

upset. >> oh, many times even on the job i'm in tears and i have to turn away. >> reporter: she is sad and angry after prosecutors told her they are considering reducing the charges against the teenagers in the fatal stabbing of her son after robbing him of his expensive jacket last november. >> so they are trying to plead, say we're going to give them a plead, this way we can get them for something better than nothing. >> reporter: the stabbing occurred the night of november 19th at the metro park station when he and friends ran into a group of teens that had allegedly robbed him that evening, taking his jacket and iphone. griffin was stabbed in the chest. a trial is scheduled for september but prosecutors are proposing reducing the charges against meyers and five others in the case. >> he said, i'm going to give

them manslaughter, offer them manslaughter and chavez, we're going to offer him murder in the second degree. i thought it was unfair because five of the guys were surrounding my son. >> a spokesman for the prosecutor's office tell me they do not typically discussion plea negotiations but that they do reach out to the family of victims for their input. but she feels like the system is failing and there's no justice for her son. >> manslaughter is too light. 7 1/2 years is not enough time. i've cried and cried and cried. i explained to them that it's unfair. >> reporter: she says the loss she will suffer will last the rest of her life. the u.s. attorneys office sent a statement expressing condolences to the family for their tragic loss. a double shooting in southeast d.c. landed two people in the hospital. a 20-year-old man was shot in

the face. the other victim, a 17-year-old girl, was shot in both legs and her chest. the shooting happened just before 2:00 this morning in the 4900 block of g street. no word on a possible motive or suspects. the man accused of sneaking up on a woman and cutting them on their backsides in local malls now admits to everything. john pimentel pleaded guilty. nine women were hurt during the 2009 incidents. he was arrested after fleeing to his native peru. he hasn't said why he did it. he faces up to seven years in prison and will be sentenced in september. three 7-eleven stores in virginia are closed after being raided as part of a human smuggling investigation. a dozen other 7-elevens were raided in long island. owners are accused of smuggling in undocumented workers from pakistan.

the pilot of an historic flight is laughing to himself tonight about the tricks he pulled off over the weekend. >> he was flying the world's most solar powered plane that can land at night and land at dulles airport. but some people thought it was a ufo. >> reporter: just after midnight on saturday, an erie silent glow coming from dulles international airport. the unusual landing came from this plane, the completely solar-powered solar impulse aircraft which is now in chantilly. it can operate day and night because of the enormous solar power activity it has. the plane is on a cross country flight hoping to make history. not everyone knew that this plane was scheduled to leave. this video sent us to by the

suddenly last year. she left behind a painful reminder to gonzales that her sister is gone. >> first of all, she shows up as a friend and family. she's always there. >> so gonzales wanted to delete her sister's page but without the password, gonzales was stumped. she tried over and over to get help from facebook. >> there must be some way to reach someone to say what do you need from me so we can do this. i didn't find anything. >> so gonzales searched the web for ways to remove a deceased person's facebook page. but says she only found other people with the same problem. >> no one really had an answer. >> did you try to call facebook? >> i couldn't really find a phone number to find them. >> we contacted facebook through media challenges. facebook says it honors requests from close family members to deactivate a deceased person's account. in fact, facebook says you have two options.

you can either memorialize a page or delete it all together. we found many memorial pages online for the general public and even celebrities but gonzales wanted her sister's page deleted forever. >> this is just one more thing, one more process i need to get through on her behalf. >> so using instructions we got from facebook, first, you click the flower or star in the right-hand corner of your page. then click help, then visit the help center. next, type in the search box, deceased user delete. then, choose memorialize or remove an account. >> i'm going to go with, please remove this account. >> facebook requires a death certificate and prove that she was the lawful representative of the deceased. >> and i have those. >> gonzales submitted her request. then she received an e-mail from facebook acknowledging it was sent.
