she was murdered. i don't think about that. i think of everything before that, all the happy times. that's what helps keep me sane. >> so far investigators do not ave a suspect. some in the neighborhood are still on edge. >> police are trying to put neighbors at ease. >> this was an isolated incident. i would say this community is safe and they shouldn't worry. >> having detectives out in the neighborhood is comforting to her mother. her honor student with so much promise is dead, and she says the killer must be caught. motive, police say they may not know until they find the killer, and they say

of a medical emergency. on august 8, as the president and first lady were leaving the white house to celebrate mr. obama's 52nd birthday, medic one ran out of gas. fire officials say the vehicle was towed and is being repaired out of sight. fire officials say the crew should have but did not fill up the tank that day. sources say the fuel gauge had been broken for months and had not been repaired. >> why did it run out of gas? did it have a faulty gas gauge? >> for months, tommy wells has been critical of the department for not correcting a fleet in disrepair. >> this highlights that we are not where we need to be. >> according to an official press report, the ambulance left at 5:30. another ambulance was dispatched and arrived at the white house at 6:58959, nearly 20 minutes

later. long n, the motorcade was gone. when the motorcade left, multiple sources say medic 7 was ot in the motorcade. it likely had not been through a security sweep and therefore could not be used if something had happened to the president. >> where that motorcade went through, we should note that due to safety and security reasons in regard' president, a spokesperson for the secret service declined to talk at all about this story and this incident. as far as the fire department, officials with that agency are investigating. they have told us the crew aboard medic one could face harsh disciplinary action. >> jay, thank you. >> only on abc 7 tonight, the pilot forced to make an emergency landing talks about the moments before he put his

plane down in front of a fredericksburg gas station. that pilot tells us dense fog forced him to change course, but before long, his fuel levels dropped dwrussly -- dangerously low, and he had to act fast. >> i could see the lights on the ground. >> well, the plane was damaged, but orlando was not hurt. he took off from tampa and was headed to charlottesville. >> new at 11:00, a man accused of robbing an elderly woman and punching her in the face. this happened outside the food lion in woodbridge. he hit the woman in the face and took off with her purse. he's being charged with robbery. >> a college athlete, brandon banks, charged with rain. he's one of four players from vanderbilt university accused of raining a 21-year-old woman.
