and just off to the west, we will see heavy downpours at times so a flash flood watch has been issued in areas north and west of here. until the middle of the afternoon. a few storms could be strong along east of, i 95. and gorgeous weather on the way for the rest of the week, once we get through today. i will have details on that, just a few minutes but right now, things have been active on the roadways already this morning. that's right, we are seeing a lot of activity, if you use that in your morning commute, there is two incidents you need to be aware of. first off you have this incident going on. rout 50, we have reports of police activity and a pedestrian

struck, so we are still monitoring conditions on that. that is a serious crash, with seriousdy lays you can see just sitting still, that back up is just like a parking lot. we also have a crash working and we are going to show you another camera shot there. and that is that same crash i was just talking about at rout 50. so again, this is a little bit closer up. you can see the two right lanes are closed. new accident, after rout 28, that has the right lane closed coming in through centerville. cleared that construction, that we have picked up, not too bad on 95, coming in through dale city and wood bridge. heavy and steady in patches and then the inner as well as the outer loop, as well as the maryland side, moving right along right now this morning. i will send it back to jummy and scott. >> all right, thank you. our top story at 6:02 this morning another guilty plea expected. connecting can campaign schedule.

>> a long time advise store vern then hawkins was indicted on charges of trying to impede an investigation. john gonzales has the late nest northwest. john. >> scott, this is the scandal that just won't go away. corruption and deceit, seems to be following mayor vincent gray during his term in office. now, this time around, it is a top advise store long time associate of vernon hawkins. he will be in federal court later this morning. now, he is charged with lying to the fbi about this so called shadow campaign. that helped elect grey into office, back in 2010 accused of trying to cover up, get this, nearly $700,000 illegal money, under the table money, if you will, from a d. c. business mapp. even allegedly paying a campaign worker to leave town before federal investigators started asking tough questions.

now, the 74-year-old was a huge supporter at rallies for venn council chair draw three years ago. and he remain as good friend today, well now he is added to the list, three people have already pleaded guilty involved in this two year federal probe, now the mayor of this week will not speak specifically about the charges, only saying yesterday, that he hates to see this happen. hawkins is expected to plead guilty after his arraignment at 9:30 this morning. he faces up to five years in prison. >> reporting live, abc 7 news. >> okay, john, thank you. well, in the day ahead, gun rights about vests adam kokesh will be in a d.c. courtroom, where his attorney is expected to again ask for bond. comb kokesh is charges with openly carrying in the district. the d.c. host committee will hold a press briefing today.

will trigger another round of showers and thunderstorms late today. and into the evening a few of those storms also could be strong or severe, especially along in east of, i 95. now, we do have much cooler and less humid air coming in on the back side of this system that will bring some gorgeous conditions later on this week. we have to get through today first. with that threat of flooding and some heavier thunderstorms possible, even thunderstorms clearing overnight, 59 to 65-degrees and our seven day forecast showing you beautiful conditions starting tomorrow, a nice long stretch, right into the weekend, temperatures will get a little bit warmer into the low to mid 80's as we head towards friday and saturday. all right, that rain right around the corner so we want to get to adam who is live in silver spring. and he is getting ready to summer fun, i see you are all geared up. >> actually climbing now. about 15 feet above the ground, and if you are watching last friday, you saw i went down the

waldo place, in southeast d.c., if you have any information about her whereabouts, you are asked to call police. and the man arrested in connection with the disappearance of a virginia teenager is being held without bond. randy taylor is charged with abduction by force, which is a felony. sen teen-year-old alexis musty was last seen august 3rd. she was headed to lynch burg from her home in nelson county. her cash was later found in a, paing lot in charlottesville. >> can have 46 and police are again going door to door in solving the murder of a teenager. it is back on august 20 second of 2012, when a gunman kicked in the front door of a home and shot 17-year-old amber stanley. so far, they don't have any suspects. >> and a former hospital technician will avoided charges in maryland because of a plea deal with the federal government. david is accused of causing a multistate hepatitis c outbreak.

we have already seen over an inch in western maryland. about half an inch of .018 of an inch. so flash flood watch is in effect for the d.c. area, and everybody north and west through the middle of the afternoon. so just cloudy for the most patter in d.c., a couple of sprinkles but that's about it. celt nine degrees it is warm. a little bit of a breeze in h the south as well. frederiksberg is at 76. so the warm front lifting up, and this will kick up a second round of showers and thunderstorms i think late this afternoon and into this evening. a few of those could be strong or severe. so you can see the red highlighted area here, and over towards the del mar. less humid conditions will be coming in on the back side of it and bricking a beautiful rest of the week. mostly cloudy, showers and thunderstorms likely.
