the westfield montgomery mall in bethesda tonight. a man who allegedly threatened others while claiming he was armed was taken into custody there. police say they were called to the montgomery mall just before 7:00 because the man was acting suspiciously. officers say he had no weapons when they searched him. but because of his mental state, he was taken to a hospital for an evaluation. now to silver spring as police investigate a robbery at a pharmacy. there it happened a few hours ago at the medicine shoppe on hampshire avenue. so far nobody has been arrested. police say it's too soon to know if this robbery has been connected to other holdups across montgomery and prince george's counties. there is a new plan to change the face of the new york avenue corridor. today developers broke ground on a project to turn the hecht warehouse into a 300-unit apartment building. that development would also feature a grocery store, a gym, and a garage that will hold a thousand cars. that art deco warehouse was first built back in 1937.

11:13 pm
did you have any contact with him? that's what howard county police want to know. tonight this flyer is circulating throughout columbia mall. the day of the shooting, police say aguilar came here in a cab. here is something new. a source at barwood cab company tells news4 one of its drivers called police after the shooting, said he had taken a, quote, weird looking guy to the mall. we've not heard from howard county police to confirm or deny this. but the other thing to note is aguilar was picked up in burtonsville. if he lived and worked in college park, what was he doing in burtonsville? meanwhile, investigators still tight-lipped about the contents of aguilar's journal, but confirm he knew he was having mental health issues. what the journal does not show is a link to breanna benlolo and tyler johnson. the number one question in this investigation, motive undetermined. and the one thing that has been ruled out in this investigation is a number of people had tipped

news out of georgia right now. this winter storm is wreaking havoc down south. it's also stranding some kids at school all night long. atlanta has received about 2 inches of snow so far. some roads are so bad that school districts canceled bus service. many parents could not navigate the snow-covered roads to pick their kids up. the school district says they are prepared to feed the children and keep them warm overnight if they have to. some of the home depot stores in the atlanta area are staying open to provide shelter for stranded drivers. from texas to louisiana to georgia and up into north carolina, icy roads are causing countless accidents and traffic jams. some cities with as few as nine plows in their fleet struggled to sand and salt the roads. some had to be closed because they were just too dangerous. >> bad weather also canceled thousands of flights today. most of them were down south. the airport atlanta was one of the ones hardest hit.

that one is the busiest airport in the world and a major hub. all the flights out of new orleans also grounded because of the weather conditions. >> and we're just getting word of our first school closing. spotsylvania county schools in virginia planning to close tomorrow because of the snow. >> i think there will be more closings early tomorrow morning, especially for the folks down towards southern maryland. i think you're going to get it, also around spotsylvania, maybe even fredericksburg and stafford and some others. we'll get into that in a second. but this storm really a bad storm down toward the south. but for us it's also starting to cause problems. this is out towards brandywine out in the target right there. and notice the roadways, because of the cold temperatures. this snow is sticking immediately. it only takes about a half an hour. and everything is covered. you can see that parking lot right there covered. and out towards the airport right now, look at the temperature. 16. if this is not a wintry night in d.c., i don't know what is. 4. that's the current windchill with the wind out of the northwest at about 9 miles per hour. not only is it cold, but now we're dealing with the snow.

way up. right around 1:00, it's back to the i-95 corridor and off to the east. so still seeing that snow in prince george's county down through charles county, st. mary's calvert county. those are the areas i expect to see significant delays early tomorrow morning. but also spotsylvania county, stafford county, king george, westmoreland, the northern neck also seeing some of those delays. by early tomorrow morning, though, it's out of here. and it's just cold. remember, just about all of us are going to clean off our cars, but with the very fluffy snow, it's going to be very easy to do so if you don't get a lot of it. tomorrow afternoon, well, it's just cold. we've got some snow on the ground and the temperatures will remain well below freezing. the winter weather advisory in effect until 6:00 a.m. includes anne arundel, prince george's, calvert, st. mary's and charles, back towards stafford, spotsylvania and parts of the northern neck right on through 6:00 a.m. tomorrow morning for the potential of a couple inches of snow. and even includes the ern shore and out treardshe eastern shore, including ocean city right along the atlantic. we're talking about the winter
11:19 pm
storm warnings out that way. what are we going to see? how much snow? well, a coating to an inch. and i have moved that back just a little bit in flew loudoun county, northern fauquier county, a coating to an inch around d.c. 1 to 3 inches to the south. waldorf towards brandywine, camp springs, up towards annapolis and right back towards fredericksburg. 3 to 4 inches for calvert beach, huntingtown. i fully expect maybe 3 to 4 inches in parts of that area. so we'll continue to watch there too. something else to talk about, the windchill. not in d.c. we're going to see a cold windchill tomorrow morning. but look back towards the west. 5 to 15 below along the i-81 corridor, back along winchester, up towards martinsburg, even around frederick, maryland. 5 to 15 below zero early tomorrow. breezy and cold tomorrow. windchill for the rest of us. 5 above to about 10 below. actual temperatures 9 to 14 degrees tomorrow morning. so starting off on a cold note. but here is the good news. we finally start to move in the
