new reaction from neighbors in the sterling area where police think the same man robbed four women. >> we first told you about these bazaar cases in december. tonight, darcy spencer is in sterling with the latest on the connection. >> reporter: police want you to take a look at this sketch. they say the man depicted here has been robbing women at gunpoint. the robberies have residents in this sterling neighborhood alarmed. >> there are families with small children, to hear something like that is surprising, especially my wife is walking to work. we'll have to make as you were we're on our guard. >> reporter: the louden sheriff's office says the man robbed two women over the last week at the rem ming ton apartments. in one case he told a woman to give him her wallet and jacket and in the other he snatched her wallet. >> worked from out of state but never had issues here. we hope it stays safe and

whoever or whatever the issue is gets resolved quickly. >> reporter: they believe he may have committed two other holdups of women four miles away. he forced a woman to drop the items she was holding and take off some clothes. a little later the same day he pointed a gun at a woman unloading grocery. she screamed, he ran away. police want to get him locked up before anyone gets hurt. >> my girlfriend lives out here, and she's always out here walking her dog, so i'll let her know to be vigilant and basically check around corners and things, be safe. new tonight, a bias map at bwi marshall airport damaged a plane and forced passengers on to another flight. a tow vehicle ran into the nose of this american airlines jet. it happened at 4:00 this afternoon before the plane was about to leave for dallas.

passengers had to get off and rebooked on another flight. no one was hurt but an airline employee was checked out at a hospital as a precaution. this fire caused heavy damage tonight. this cell phone video was around 7:30 on irving ton avenue. flames was shooting from the attic and roof. firefighters are still on the scene now checking for hot spots. no one was home when the fire began. investigators still trying to figure out how it started. the westen hotel will not let gusts back in tonight after evacuating everyone for a carbon monoxide scare. paramedics took nine people to the hospital after an employee got suck in the laundry room. they believe that's where the leak came from. they quickly cut off utility service to the whole building to stop the leak and vent late. eight of the nine people hospitalized were hotel staff but hundreds of gusts had to

released. the baltimore ravins said we're aware of the friday night situation with ray rice and his fiancee. we have spoken with ray and know they returned home together after being detained. the race is on to be maryland's next governor and with just four months until the primarily, lieutenant governor anthony brown carved out a pretty comfortable lead over the democratic field. 35% of likely voters support brown over gansler and mizeur. 40% say they are still undecided. the republican race is still up for grabs. larry hogan has 13% of the vote but 68% say they are still undecided. that primary is june 24th. a memorial will be field for the police reservist whose body was found. kevin quick went missing a

little more than two weeks ago. he left his mother's house and never showed up to a friend's party. his suv and body were found days later outside richmond. four people are charged in connection with his death. tomorrow colorado authorities expect to release the names of the skiers caught in a deadly avalanche. two people died and three eithers hurt when the snow came smashing down star mountain last night. that's about 80 miles outside denver. a group of seven skiers triggered the avalanche even after they were warned two weeks of heavy snow created dangerous conditions. controversy continues over the verdict over the loud music case. the jury was deadlocked on a murder charge over the killing of teenager jordan davis. today would have been davis' 19th birthday. brian moore has our report tonight. >> reporter: on jordan davis' birthday, his community demanded a new trial and a full verdict

on the 17-year-old's killing. >> you will not kill our black boys and get away with it. >> reporter: a jury was unable to reach a verdict for the murder charge for michael dunn. a blow to the victim's family. >> and we will continue to wait for justice for jordan. >> reporter: instead, dunn was found guilty of three counts of attempted of murder for shooting at him over a loud music dispute in 2012. >> he's showing me a gun and threatening me. >> oh, my, gosh, somebody is shooting. >> dunn's fiancee seen in this video testified for the prosecution dunn didn't mention a gun that night. police never found a gun. much like the killing of trayvon martin, this case has raised questions about race, justice and florida's stand your ground law. >> we will not rest until we get the type of justice that we deserve, lord. >> reporter: though dunn already faces 60 years behind bars,

the off and on combination of the bitter cold and warm weather have taken a toll on our cars and roads. potholes are popping up across maryland and virginia. the dot said it filled 3200 potholes last month alone. 2500 have been filled this month and february is only half way over. the agency says it tries to fill potholes within three days of being notified. for information how to report them and what to do if your car is damaged, go to nbcwashington.com. if potholes aren't bad enough, gas prices are on the rise again. it jumped to $3.35, that's seven

medal. a strong showing for team usa, the stars from team usa in ice dancing. take a look. the dynamic duo of meryl davis and charlie white have the u.s. close to capturing the first ever gold medal in the event. the pair skated a near perfect short program to the music of "my fair lady." they scored a record of 78.98 points and a 2.5 lead over tessa and scott of canada. they are back on the ice tomorrow for a chance at gold. so here we go, how are we stacking up in the medal count tonight? the netherlands leads with 17 total medals bolstered by continued dominance in speed skating. the u.s. and russia tied for second with 16 a piece and germany leads the gold medal race with seven. we're keeping an eye on two
