good. your volume's still light. the other thing i'm tracking, this just now in to the first 4 traffic center, a water main break in clinton, maryland. crews are the scene, and it closes woodyard road between pineview lane and brandywine road. they are on the scene. not only dealing with the water main but salting the road. that's why you are seeing the closure. i'm back at 6:11 for another update. back to you. >> all right. thank you. at 6:02, we're following a developing story in switzerland. an ethiopian airlines co-pilot hijacked a plane bound for rome and flew it to geneva where he reportedly wanted to seek asylum. none of the 202 passengers on board that plane was hurt. the co-pilot was taken into custody shortly after the plane landed. not clear right now why he wants asylum, though. this incident caused some congratulations -- cancelations and other flights to be diverted including one from dulles. the plane that was to land in geneva this morning was diverted to zurich. 6:02. the carbon monoxide leak that

evacuated the bwi westin hotel is under control this morning. anne arundel county fire officials say they turned the building back over to hotel staff around 7:30 yesterday. fire officials believe the leak came from inside the hotel's laundry room. the nine people who were taken to the hospital after getting sick from the leak are expected to be okay. hundreds of people were ordered out of their rooms yesterday. many without their belongings, and forced to sleep somewhere else. fire investigators in bethesda are trying to figure out what sparked an attic fire. look at the video. flames were shooting out of the home on irvington avenue as crews arrived yesterday. 50 firefighters responded and had the fire under control quickly. crews worked into the night to mop up hot spots. no one was thome time of the fire. ray rice's lawyer says an argument between the baltimore ravens' running back and his fiancee was "little more than a misunderstanding." police in atlantic city, new jersey, arrested rice and his

fiancee over the weekend. the couple got into an argument at the rebel casino and it turned physical, according to police. the two were charged with assault. today will be an emotional day for family and friends of a virginia police reservist killed earli ioier this month. kevin quick will be laid to rest near charlottesville. his funeral will be public, but there will be a public memorial beforehand at the -- will be private, but there will be a public memorial beforehand at the university of virginia. six people have been arrested in connection with the death. police have not charged anyone yet with murder. new, new pictures of a tow car that crashed into a plane at bwi marshall airport. a passenger took these pictures. american airlines is trying to determine what caused this crash. the accident happened yesterday afternoon as passengers boarded a flight to dallas. the tow driver was taken to the hospital where she was treated and released. passengers had to get off the plane. they were rebooked on another flight. it is now 6:04. today in virginia, a celebration

282 years in the making. in honor of george washington's birthday and presidents' day, mt. vernon will host a series of events. there will be a ceremonial wreath laying, musical contributed, and a group of actors dressed in revolutionary gear telling stories about george washington. today's admission will be free doorchl. doors are opening early in about two hours. the final full week of olympic competition kicks off in sochi this morning with eyes back on the weather. it's already having a big impact this morning. news4's jim handly joining us live again from olympic park with more on that and what folks might want to watch today. jim, good morning. >> reporter: good morning again, aaron. this time it is the weather again. we're talking fog here and up in the mountains especially. causing two cancelations today and backing up things in other venues, too. take a look at this live picture over olympic park, over the black sea. usually you can see the mountains off into the distance from where we are.

pothole, it's wide, it's also deep. you can see that we've got a hubcap here, someone hit it hard, flipped off the hubcap. we've got another up her hubcap down -- another hubcap down the street. these potholes could cause a lot of dodge your vehicle. we're expecting to see more and more popping up around the region. we've had so much snow and the freeze and thaw cycle. it just is not good for the roads. here in the district, they've been getting a upstart are repairing the -- jump start on repairing the potholes. they've fixed 5,700 so far this year. they've been able to keep up with the turnaround time. the goal being they fix these within three days of getting the report. they've been able to do that, keep up with the schedule. when the temperatures start to moderate a little, probably mid-march when we start to consistently get above freezing, they're going to kick off their pothole-palooza campaign. they're going to add crews, they're going to be repairing potholes. during that time

at 6:39, gas prices are slowly going up as refinderies prepare for seasonal changes. >> the average in could reach $3.75 this spring which refineries switch to the more expensive summer blend. supplies in elizabeth are also a factor. -- in libya are also a factor. >> the prices up two cents from last week. in maryland, $3.40. up seven cents. vigilantes when out here.
