shooting. alexandria police are also trying to determine who shot a man in old town. the shooting happened around 6:30 last night near north pain and wythe street. the man had a gunshot wound to the chest. he was rushed to the hospital in stable condition. the shooting comes just a funk following the shooting death of a popular music teacher in alexandria. police say ruthanne lodato was shot when she answered a knock at her door. police do not believe the shootings are connected. today a former juror will be back in court facing contempt for not disclosing her religious beliefs in the case surrounding a -- a police officer's death. kavon neil was on trial for motor vehicle manslaughter in the death of police officer adrian morris. in the middle of deliberations, the juror e-mailed the judge saying she was a jehovah's witness, and it was against her religion to judge others. the judge ruled it a mistrial. about 4:31. time for weather & traffic on the 1s. i wish we could reverse time and

repeat our weekend for the rest of the week, right? >> keep wishing, right? >> yeah. it is still february, after all. back to february and winter-like reality. here are your weather headlines for this monday. turning chillier. in fact, temperatures are going to be quite a bit colder than yesterday. we hit the mid 60s. highs this afternoon should make it into the low to mid 40s around the metro area. fatherer north and west, should make it into the mid to upper 30s. lots of sunshine and much of the shenandoah valley will be in the mid 40s to near 40 northern part of the valley. south, though, culpeper t fredericksburg, up near 50 degrees. and southern maryland around the bay should be making it into the upper 40s there. colder trend for the week ahead. we will likely have colder than average temperatures, average high this time of year is around 50 degrees. colder days, the week ahead coming up wednesday and again on friday. wednesday is the day when we could get some snow. there is a possibility of light snow wednesday morning for the

morning commute. we could get one to three inches of that. now let's check on our traffic this morning. you've had a couple of accidents. is that right, danella? >> that's right. now i'm tracking a new accident. we'll head to rockville pike. northbound lane near pike center shopping center. northbound rockville pike at thompson, two right lanes blocked. i'm not seeing delays because it is, again, still pretty early. just heads up if you're traveling that direction. still watching the earlier accident on i-270. they're still in the process of clearing it. for now, northbound just north of i-370, you'll see a right lane still blocked. folks need to stick to the left. aaron and eun? >> thank you. 4:32. don't be concerned today if you see extra security at naval installations around town. it's probably because of a drill going on all week. the navy yard is one installation that's part of the annual exercise. this comes less than six months after a gunman killed 12 people there and wounded three other before killing himself. prince george's county

police will be handing out flyers again in hopes that tell help solve a murder. the flyers show the faces of weldon mason, stacey white, and ortiz olda, all shot to death over the weekend. they were found dead saturday in the capitol heights neighborhood. police are offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. today, israeli prison officials are trying to find out how an inmate was able to steal a gun from a prison guard over the weekend. samuel sheinbein was on the run from the u.s. when he was stops ain. he was tried and convicted in an israeli court of murdering and dismembering a teenager in montgomery county back in 1997. yesterday, sheinbein stole a gun from a guard and opened fire in the prison. special forces were called in for the situation. they shot sheinbein, killing him as he barricaded himself inside the prison. 4:33. warrant issued for ukraine's ousted president, but no one is sure where viktor yanukovych is right now. the country's acting government wants to put him on trial for mass murder, but they have to find him first. he was last seen sunday trying to get to eastern ukraine. we want to show a live picture now from the main protest camp in the capital, kiev. it shows the stark contrast to last week's deadly fighting with police where 82 people died. those running the country now working to save the economy from the brink of collapse. we've heard from the u.s. ambassador who says america is willing to help ukraine get aid from the international monetary fund. that's the latest from the live desk. back to you. people here in d.c. speaking out about the crisis in the ukraine. there were several events held for the victims of the violence in kiev. before gathering for a candlelight vigil in dupont circle, demonstrators were outside the white house demanding action from the u.s. government to promote democracy in ukraine. some lawmakers are pressuring

president obama to keep russia from exploiting the political instability there. 4:35 now. president obama will meet with governors from around the country today. they're in town for the national governors' association meeting. the president hosted them for dinner last night at the white house. he told them he'll count on them to get things done when congress fails to act. >> i want to make sure that i have the opportunity to partner with each of you in any way that i can to help more americans work, study, and strive and make sure that they see their efforts and their faith in this country rewarded. >> not all governors may be with the president. louisiana's republican governor, bobby jindal, told the "washington post" the president's policies are making the division between democrats and republicans worse. you'll see one fight between the white house and republicans today at the supreme court. the justices will hear arguments in a case about curbing greenhouse gases. industry groups and republican-led states are challenging the obama administration's effort to limit

power plant and factory emissions. they say the administration is overstepping its authority. the president has said he'll limit emissions even if congress won't act. if you live in maryland and are in jeopardy of losing your home, a rally today could help halt foreclosures in the state for six months. the naacp is calling for an emergency freeze so lawmaker can examine why maryland is number three in the nation for foreclosures. that rally begin at 4:30 this afternoon at the state house in annapolis. he was a target of hateful comments because of his decision about snow days. the head of montgomery county schools is hoping it turn those attacks into a lesson for students. ahead, the proposed changes that could help save virginia drivers money if they use area toll roads. 4:36. cold change overnight. 15 to 20 degrees colder this morning. i've got your hour-by-hour forecast coming up.

the death of the employee at the legal seafood in washington is prompting safety checks. legal seafood has a location on 7th street in washington, as well as one in alexandria and arlington, virginia. a manager died over the weekend, and a dozen other people were hospitalized after a carbon monoxide leak inside the restaurant. if you have an e-zpass, the fees could be -- ok'd soon be a

thing of the past in virginia. according to the "freelance star," members of virginia's general assembly are working on a bill that would toss monthly fees. right now it's 50 cents a month for a region transponder and a dollar a month for a flex device. an e-zpass is required if you want to drive on the beltway's express lanes. you'll need one for i-95's new express lanes, as well, when they open next year. all those snow days we've had mean that your kids will get less recess if you live in one northern virginia county. starting today, prince william county will cut elementary school recess from 15 minutes down to 10. the school board's decision allowed the country to add one day to the end of the year. but reports say it's an unpopular compromise. one parent started a petition on change.org calling on the county to give back the recess time. it has nearly 1,500 signatures. fast approaching 4:41. a live look -- some of us saw rain overnight. here's a live picture over the district thi
