those days were originally half days but are made full to make up for missed time due to all the winter weather. >> it's still coming. stay with us, "news4 today" continues right now at 5:00 a.m. the decision expected today that could let you weigh in on whether to decriminalize marijuana in d.c. good morning, everybody, i'm aaron gilchrist. >> and i'm eun yang. we are watching for snow as another system approaches the d.c. area. this shouldn't impact your drive to work, but wt is behind it could cause problems tomorrow. >> what do you need to lookout for? here's meteorologist tom kieran. good morning. you have two chances of snow, one today and another one tomorrow. today's is not going to be coming in until much later in the morning. right now getting a few flurries around annapolis down to shadyside in anne arundel county. there's a first line of

steadier, light snow coming into northern and west virginia, western up maryland. it's still about four hours away of getting here, so i don't think it will make it in here. my forecast for that not until about 9:00 in the morning. temperatures are in the 20s. so whatever snow falls will stick initially by midmorning. and as we look at the headlines for today, the two chances of snow are today and again tomorrow. here's the timing on today's snow chance. i think it's going to begin to move in here by around noontime. it will get into the metro area, but farther north and west, this is at 8:00, my forecast for the light snow, dusting to 1 inch for the metro between 10:00 in the morning till 1:00 to 2:00 in the afternoon. it will quickly exit and head off to the east and dissipate. we'll get the sunshine back. the snow on wednesday, the timing is different. it looks like this is going to be in the morning. my forecast for light snow, timing is for the morning rush hour. some delays are possible tomorrow morning. that to be followed by a milder

weekend. let's take a look at morning traffic on this tuesday morning with danella. no delays yet, right? >> that's right, tom. happy tuesday to you if you're just waking up to join us. not seeing delays in the area, that's good news. i-270 from frederick, maryland, to rockville, the travel lanes are open. i'm not tracking construction or any work zones. here's 109 nice and clear. and again northbound clear as well connecting to the beltway, no problems for folks traveling between i-270 and, aaron, i-95. back over to you. safety on a popular arlington road being questioned this morning after a mother of three was killed. this is little falls road. it's right in front of nottingham elementary where 39-year-old jennifer lawson was hit by a dump truck and killed yesterday morning. lawson was reaching into her minivan to get her son. that dump truck slammed right into her van. the recent tragedy was an unexpected shock to the entire community. >> it's heartbreaking. it's awful. >> it strikes a cord for me, so

it's upsetting. >> the dump truck driver did stay on the scene and is cooperating with police. today a judge is expected to set a retrial date for a murder case in prince william county. back in 2012 a judge vacated justin wolfe's murder conviction after a witness recounted his testimony. he was prosecuted on drug and murder charges. he was convicted in the murder-for-hire of a drug supplier. he's being held without bond. and a maryland man will be in court for being too aggressive with coworkers. walter bowman was a teacher at bridge cheney middle school when three coworkers filed complaints against him. they claimed bowman would grab them and hold on or laugh while being in their personal space making them feel uncomfortable. officials say there was no report of bowman treating a student like this. you will want to pay attention to what the montgomery county council does today if you're tired of being stuck in gridlock in the county. the council will decide whether

which major transportation priorities it wants the maryland department of transportation to consider. mdot looks at each county's list of priorities when it decides how to spend state funds the next six year. also today there's an update on repairs at union station's main hall ceiling. construction crews have been fixing damage to the ceiling since 2011, the earthquake that caused the damage. there's about or they are about 20% done with their work. fmplgts you a if you are thinking of running for office, the candidacy will close tonight. all 188 seats in the general assembly are on the ballot, attorney general and governor. this year's primary is set for june 24. it is 5:04. the d.c. council wants your opinion on a plan to bring the redskins back to the district. six council members want to transform rfk stadium into a 100,000-seat domed complex. the plan also calls for a sound same and film center at the d.c.

armory, a redesign of the langston golf course, hotel complex and indoor water park. the council members hope it not only convinces the redskins to return but that it would attract super bowls, pga tournaments and the olympics. comment on the plan today at 10:00 at the wilson building. to the the county board of supervisors will vote on the real estate tax. if the tax is approved, the board has to decide where to spend the money, schools or county services. parents and teachers want more funding for lower class sizes and local sports, libraries, police and fire services say they need more money, too. that's after years of recession. the meeting starts at 7:30 at the mccourt administration building in prince william county. still making those plans for spring break? well, be prepared to spend more to visit one popular destination. also ahead, trying to make good for his mistake. the steps one rail conductor took to apologize to hundreds of commuters who were stuck in the cold. 5:05. all right, we are having more winter weather.

two chances for snow. winter is not done with us yet, tom. >> not yet. weather and traffic on the ones. at 5:11, storm team 4 radar is showing light snow out here in garrett county, western maryland and northern west virginia. it is advancing to the east, but it is far away from the metro area. it is three-and-a-half to four hour ace way. that puts the timing of the arrival right around 11:00 in the morning into the metro area and maybe around 9:00 to 10:00 in the western suburbs. by the time your noon hour is over, by 1:00 to 2:00, you may see a dusting. a lot of it will be melting. we'll get the sun back with highs in the upper 30s. a look at the second chance of snow and the weekend, that's coming up. the next weather and traffic on the ones is at 5:21. how is traffic, no delays? no delays but i'm tracking a couple things to lookout for. the beltway, the outer loop of the gw parkway, the broken down car is on the right shoulder

i'm reporting on a house fire in capitol heights. firefighters showed up with fire coming from the basement spreading to the first floor. people were rescued with no reports of injury or a cause. we have a crew on the way. more information as we get it. melissa malay, news4.

coming up on 15 after the hour, attorneys will present closing arguments for the man on trial for a deadly road rage case. lee sana took the stand in his own defense yesterday. the former sunday schoolteacher testified it was righteous indignation that led him to confront william o'brien in the fairfax parking lot last april. surveillance video obtained by "the washington post" shows the two fighting. sana told police o'brien through the first punch and sana hit back in self-defense. o'brien died ten days later. he told police he followed o'brien because he was honking at him. also the d.c. board of elections could decide if voters have a say in whether marijuana is legal in the district. the board is considering an initiative to make it legal to carry as much as 2 ounces of pot. supporters want to put that on november's ballot. this is different than a bill the d.c. council is considering to decriminalize small amounts of marijuana. 5:15 now. right now the manhunt is underway for the ousted president of the nt train

looking for black box warnings on testosterone medications that warn of a heart attack. the fda is reviewing these drugs in light of two studies to show high rates of cardiovascular problems in may. the supreme court washed down the hopes the front-load consumers have been wondering as people are claiming a design flaw causes a musty odor. the maker filed an appeal to the court saying they are not bad enough to classify a justice action. the lawyers will continue to pursue their cases in the lower courts. in just a few hours the maryland students and staff will have a new resource to help them through the school's massive data breach. 330,000 people's private information has been exposed. we'll tell you how the school plans to help out with the start of an offering. that's coming up. and storm team is tracking e
