>> so they did release -- you know when he was arrested, he was pulled over for they said speeding and he had some illegal substances in his body. anyway, they released this video. this is of him walking the line in his orange kicks. and if you watch, you can see he's not -- he's not all the way perfect. anyway, they did find out after some drug tests that he had marijuana and some xanax i think in his system. >> and not enough alcohol to be legally under the influence. but he is also a minor. so there are lots of issues. you know what's fascinating about this? they took ten -- they gave way for the public to see ten hours of hanging with the biebs in prison. >> in jail. >> they had ten hours. i guess freedom of information act. >> yeah. all those -- >> everybody wants to know what's going on. >> all the cameras are rolling. he pleaded not guilty to dui. resisting arrest and driving with an invalid driver's license. his blood alcohol was below the legal limit, though he's not legal to be drinking at all. but the urine test did find marijuana and xanax in his

there's a tension naturally. we kind of pull each other in different directions. >> that can be good. >> we love it. >> now, this show's gotten raves since it started a few seasons ago. and i think a lot of people are probably thinking gosh, if i right in? haven't seen it yet can i jump the answer is yeah, you can, right? >> absolutely. i think it's really inviting. the characters are really warm. the sketches. it's not "game of thrones" or "mad men." you can start in season four and get it. >> their very own little contained episodes now. there's no -- and that's a change of some sort a little bit, right? >> yeah. because we see audiences like to see things in segments, you know, online or whatever. so i mean, that's kind of the way i like to see things too. so we can chop things up and just switch them around. >> and you guys are shooting there all the time or -- >> mm-hmm. >> you do? >> six months out of the year. >> how are you able to do that now with your new gig? >> yeah, well, i'll just go do that when it's time to -- you know, to write "portlandia," i'll start that. >> carrie, how is it going to work? >> he's in denial about how busy he is, but it's true.

welcome back. >> i think it is fun you poke fun at yourself in the title. you had an accident, a farming accident when you were 6 years old and lost your leg. >> yes, yes, i did. and i adapted very easily because i was a child and children tend to adapt more easily. i almost died. so my perspective was always i could have died. so this is nothing. >> everything's relative. >> it is. the reason i wrote the book was to send that message that, you know, you can get through anything. you can -- any challenges that come your way, as long as there is breath there's life. and you can do anything. >> we've been talking about that all week long, attitudes about ourselves and our body image and such. was that an extremely painful time for you as a young woman going through puberty? was that the hardest time to just accept yourself? >> very difficult. very, very treacherous. you know, as a teenager you just want to be like everybody else. you know. and i was different. and it was challenging. but i was obsessed with being like everybody else. >> interesting. >> and i think that that obsession is what carried me today to not define myself by my leg. i define myself by my family, my friends, my philanthropy.

when i get a pedicure. >> she gets pedicures on both sets of toes. >> you were very close to your mom. you talked about how your mom watched kathie lee and regis with your mom. >> yes, i'm so sorry, and you did lose her. and you dedicate your book to her. she struggled really badly with alcoholism, didn't she? >> yes, she did. and it's such a terrible disease that affects so many of us in our country. if not us personally, we know someone, a friend, a relative. and i think the takeaway is for me that seeing her just, you know, spiral downward so quickly and so horrifically, is that if you know someone who's suffering, make them hit rock bottom quickly, as quickly as possible, so that they can get the help themselves. >> they have to get help. >> otherwise, you know, alcoholism takes your brain away. my mother actually became -- had dementia toward the end. >> and alzheimer's. >> yes. but that was from the alcohol. yeah. >> the book is really interesting.
