at 6:00 a.m., news4 is following a water warning in parts of northwest washington. many people should not drink their water without boiling it first. we are live learning what parents in the affected area need to know before sending your children to school. this morning, a lot of you in northern virginia are still dealing with some snow. >> some students will go to school a little late. this morning, culpeper, page, orange county schools will open two hours late today. >> meteorologist tom kierein here with a cold start. >> yes, indeed. temperatures below freezing throughout much of the region. now we are in the 20s. and right now storm team 4 radar scanning the sky, don't have any snow or rain. but this time tomorrow morning, we're going to see that perhaps moving in from the south and east. coming up, next weather & traffic on the 1s, that's at 6:11. i'll show you the timing on that. right now, we have partly cloudy skies. it's only in the 20s in the nearby suburbs.

just teens farther north and west of the rural areas of maryland and virginia. hour-by-hour forecast for this thursday, colder weather moving in. on a northerly breeze, we'll have temperatures staying below freezing between now through around late morning. tell just be in the mid 20s by -- it will just be in the mid 20s by 8:00. at noon, near the freezing mark and partly cloudy. partly sunny during the afternoon. highs only reaching the mid 30s. danella, any new problems? >> well, right now, tom, an update. i was talking about the broken down car in rockville on -- sorry, the car that veered off the road. west montgomery avenue at nelson street. it is broken down, but that's because it's stuck. looks like, again, it exited off of i-270 heading northbound on to west montgomery avenue. as soon as you take the ramp, that's where the car is. now, because of that, folks traveling northbound on i-270 at this time cannot take the exit ramp because police are on scene blocking the ramp. they're waiting on a tow truck to come and remove the car. keep that in mind. elsewhere on i-270, we'll head

up now. checking normal delays, frederick, maryland, southbound folks are slow. no accidents on i-270. you see just a bit sluggish. good news, clarksburg road, easy, clear commute to rockville. >> thank you. 6:02. right now many of you should try to pack your kids' lunch for school. several schools in northwest washington are affected by a boil water advisory. those schools include hurst, janney, lafayette, and mann elementary schools, as well as merch elementary, and wilson high school. we have more from in front of wilson high on what to expect. david? >> reporter: we want to prepare parents and students this morning for what they should expect at those seven schools that you mentioned. here's the list of what's going to be affected. for one, there will be no breakfast served at those seven schools because of that boil advisory. also, lunches are going to be limited today. so as you mentioned, those parents should maybe pack something extra for their students and staff at the
