pouring into the news road right now. >> as you can see on this map of the area, most of the delays in yellow are in virginia, fair backs, loudoun, prince william, stafford and faulkier schools, culpeper, king george and manassas park and fredericksburg schools. >> in maryland, calvert, howard and st. mary's schools open two hours late. >> with temperatures below freezing, there are found be slick spots on the roads as you head back to work today. megan mcgrath and danella sealock tracking the travel spots to cause some problems. but first, we'll go to storm team 4 meteorologist tom kieran now for more on the conditions we are dealing with right now. tom, good morning. >> good morning. storm team 4 radar showing no snow around the metro area. we are getting a little bit of light snow in far southern maryland in southern st. mary's county and then across the potomac into the northern neck of virginia. this area in pink is a little bit of light freezing drizzle east of richmond forward virginia tidewater.

that's advancing to the north and east. there could be a little patch of freezing drizzle in the eastern neck over the next hour or two. farther west, just a few scattered places of some light, freezing drizzle. that's south of fredericksburg where we have a winter weather advisory in effect until noon today. watch out for that in calvert, charles, st. mary's, northern neck and spotslvania. a little freezing drizzle is possible otherwise clouds just coming through. and the other threat is the snow that melted overnight and created some moisture on the roads. it has begun to freeze up a little bit. this area in red, much of maryland and around the district, much of northern virginia where all the snow fell, that's where we could have some pam chi ice and slippery spots. stay tuned for that. coming up in the next ten minutes, weather and traffic on the 1s at 5:11. your hour-by-hour forecast for this tuesday, aaron.

megan mcgrath is out looking for the icy spots on the roads this morning. she's live on route 50 in fairfax right now. megan, how is it looking? >> reporter: well, aaron, we haven't seen anything too bad out there. so that's good news. but very, very cold. take a live look here at the road, we're on route 50. it is just 28 degrees outside. so, of course, anything that isn't treated there's the potential for it to ice up, especially bridges and overpasses. although driving around this morning we are not seeing any real problems. you can see that the road is clear. we're not even seeing snow on the sides or the shoulders of the roads. they did a good job of clearing everything up, but keep in mind there's the potential for icing, just keep your eyes open and take it easy out there. now with more on traffic, over to danella. good morning, megan. that's what i'm seeing myself. and a lot of the cameras here, the road is pretty dry, which is good. they did an excellent job shoveling. we'll take a closer look at i-66. here's a live look right now for

folks making the trip past prince william parkway. the shoulder ramps are clear. yesterday, in fact, we saw it was covered with snow. so still keep in mind that like everyone is saying, anything that's not treated can ice over. so keep your speeds down if you're about to leave the house any time soon. 66 outside of the beltway, inside the beltway as well, no accidents or delays. a military trial for joshua tate was supposed to start yesterday and was delayed because of the snow. tate is accused of assaulting a person outside a party in 2012. the woman was too drunk to remember what happened, but she heard that she had sex with multiple partners. three former naval football players were originally accused here. tats the only one still charged. disturbing statistics to be

announced. federal officials will announce the results of a major investigation involving online child pornography. this investigation has been working on an international level examining a child pornography website. it is now 5:03. a maryland nonprofit group says its identified a hacker who stole information on thousands of its clients. service coordination says someone stole social security and medical information for about 9700 clients. the group says there's no evidence the hackers used or released the information. the service coordination provides services to the developmentally and disabled marylanders. today those in virginia will hear several perceptions, and one is from george mason university. they want to create a master's degree program in computer design. george mason currently has an undergraduate program on that

topic. and new political action committee is called common good virginia. politicians -- supporters say that would help prince george's county compete with montgomery county's i-270 technology corridor. route 50 is back open this morning in bowie after a tanker truck crashed. police say the driver suffered a medical condition. he hit the jersey barrier, flipped the truck on its side and blocked both sides of the highway last night. it took hours to remove the truck. the driver was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay. 5:05 now. new this morning, china the

latest country searching its territory for signs of the missing malaysian jet. 27 countries are now involved in the massive search operation. malaysian police are investigating the pilots and ground engineers of the plane. they are also investigating the possibility of hijacking, sabotage, terrorism or issues related to the mental health of the crew and all the passengers. the plane disappeared on march 8th flying from malaysia to beijing. coming up on 5:06, news4's molette green is following breaking news from the live desk. >> aaron, there's a possible hazmat situation going on right now on the campus of georgetown university. d.c. police and fire and ems already on the scene in the 3700 block of o-street in northwest. what we can tell you is that they are investigating a powdery substance that was found in one of the buildings, but police are not telling us yet which building they are looking at. our melissa mollet is headed there and will bring us more on this developing story in just a short bit.

welcome back. you may want to watch what you post on facebook because it just may be con teenage owls. a new study published in the journal plus one found that emotions can spread on the social networking site. positive posts tend to spur more positive posts and negative posts tend to bring on other negative posts. the study found the positive posts were found to be more contagious. just like a smile or a laugh. how you live is very similar to how you travel. the four seasons looked at the habits of people who stayed at their hotels to find that nothing really changes. the study finds 75% of people sleep on the same side of the bed in the hotel as they do at home. i do that. 51% of people like to watch tv before turning in for the night. 32% of travelers dim the lights before going to sleep. and 31% of people take a shower before going to bed. >> i definitely -- i can't sleep on the other side of the bed. it feels weird. >> and i sleep alone. >> and you still sleep on your side of the bed?
