i can't. i found her. >> reporter: she found her sister dead inside their two bedroom apartment on july 4th. did she have enemies? >> no, nothing. >> reporter: police detectives were called her at 11:30 in the morning. she said the night before she ate dinner with her sister, watched tv and they went to separate bedrooms to sleep. she found the body the next morning, strangled to death. >> reporter: you didn't hear anyone come inside? >> no. >> reporter: were there signs of forced entr tri? did someone try to break the lock? >> no, nothing. >> reporter: the woman moved here from ethiopia nine years ago and worked here for five years as a cook. she had no kids, no husband. >> she's like a mother to us. she's the finest person you can ever meet. >> reporter: she worshipped at this church.

>> please find my sister's killer. please. >> reporter: tonight police continue to investigate the case. they urge anyone with information if you have been in contact with her over the last six months, give them a call. or if you have information, detectives want to hear are from you. >> two men staged a violent home invasion in prince georges county and got away with it. tonight investigators went back looking for clues to help find them. the men broke into the home and demanded cash from the woman who lived there. then shot a man who tried to stop them. he is in critical condition. police passed out flyers hoping to generate tips in the case. >> tonight we are learning about a boy killed at camp during severe storms in maryland. his name is justin digs. he died tuesday when a tree fell on him at river valley ranch.

this picture was taken the day the storms hit. justin and a hundred campers were in an outdoor pavilion, trying to run to another building to take cover. the falling tree injured six other campers. justin's family released a statement that described him as a happy, upbeat young man. >> just in a major shakeup in the gaming industry. our sister station in philadelphia is reporting another atlantic city casino is set to close in the wake of oh record revenue for maryland casinos. sources say the trump plaza hotel and casino could shut its doors by september. the showboat casino is slated to close at the end of august and the atlanta club shut down in january. this week we reported that the maryland live -- that casino revenue hit a record high in june. maryland live has become the top

earning casino on the east coast. >> d.c. investigators took a long look at how everyone responded when a man started shooting and killing people at the washington navy yard. there are shocking problems and there could be changes in the d.c. police department. we have reaction tonight from the police chief. >> reporter: the report is 83 pages long and paints a chilling picture of what went on here that day. this is a black and white diagram of one section of the maze-like 600,000 square feet of building 197 at the washington navy yard. it gives a feeling for how the cops who ran in to save lives found themselves in what seemed like a violent video game made real. the report on the incident that claimed a dozen lives reveals the nerve wracking race to stop the gunman was made more difficult by obstacles including

the door to the room that contained internal monitors was locked by a security guard who didn't contact police. police chief cathy lanier spoke by phone. >> those cameras would have been helpful. the lack of access to internal cameras is specifically why we thought there was a second shooter. >> reporter: the report recommended there be go bags with maps, access keys and key cards are where they can get to them. the navy yard shooting is an example of why local law enforcement agencies and military installations must coordinate and train together. >> if you have done a training inside the walls i think because we made the assumption that because it was a military base everybody there was armed. >> reporter: it's important to mote the report says access to the security cameras would not have are presented loss of life.

ten of the 12 victims were dead in the first six minutes of the rampage. at the washington navy yard, jack ary benson, news 4. >> a prince georges county police officer is facing charges accused of hitting another man with his gun during a fight in front of howard theater. corporal michael brown is suspended with pay pending an administrative hearing. he was off duty at the time. the police chief said he's taking the allegation seriously. brown is a 12-year veteran of the aviation unit and an internal investigation is under way. >> crooks have been hiding special devices on local atms, stealing enough information to get into bank accounts. police are looking for three men using so-called skimming devices. these are photos of the three cooks. atms at three different sun trust banks have been hit since june. the devices can copy bank card information allowing thieves to get money out of the account.

one man carried a pizza box with hill as he attached a skimming device to an atm. >> new video shows a look at the man who robbed the parents of d.c. candidate for mayor and council member bouzer. police have video of him in the home on 7th street. he identified himself as mr. joe, said he was from the cable company and needed to reboot their tvs. once inside, he stole two cell phones. >> tonight, three billionaires say they could work out a deal on immigration. why can't congress? obama supporters warren buffett and bill gates and conservative sheldon adelson don't share a lot of beliefs but they say they are taking more pride in beating opponents than helping america. a lot of the illegal immigrantses are children

crossing the border. congress is hung up on the request fighting over whether the kids should get a full court hearing or be immediately deported. >> tonight the centers for disease control is shutting down labs after mistakes that could have exposed people to live smallpox and anthrax. the head of the cdc is furious revealing two of the vials of smallpox discovered contained the live virus capable of contaminating people. they should have been destroyed 40 years ago. cdc workerses were exposed to bird and anthrax from mishandled samples. >> i'm astonished this could have happened. i'm upset, actually. i lost sleep over it. i'm working around the clock to do everything possible to resolve it. >> no one was infected in any of the cases. >> today was calm compared to most of the week. our storm is making a comeback

chest. concert security spotted the infant and were concerned about her getting hurt. the woman argued the baby was asleep and said security was targeting her for breastfeeding in public. the officers gave her the option of moving or having her ticket refunded. the mom decided to leave. >> the national weather service says a weak tornado did hit the virginia coast yesterday. winds got up to 75 miles per hour. 12 people were hurt in the storm. it damaged homes and businesses. >> after a wild weather week we are ending with a beautiful full moon tonight. >> it's called a buck moon. it's also a super moon. do you know what that means. >> it might go on forever.

another storm system well to the west, but in between, tomorrow, nothing but sunshine out there. it will get warm. high temperature around 90. close to where it was today. 92 toward fredricksburg. it will be a little bit warmer there. warm and muggy. not a bad saturday at all. typical for what we see for the normal months of july. for saturday, almost no impact at all. nice and warm. saturday is fantastic. sunday, a different story. we get to 90 tomorrow. sunday, a high of 95. we have a 30% chance of storms as well. most of the day on the dry side. hot and humid with a heat index close to a hundred. we have a chance for isolated afternoon storms. it won't be a washout of a day. that could come on monday and tuesday. not just a better chance of oh storms but the potential for severe weather on monday and

his talents. remember where you were on july 11 around 12:15 today. lebron announcing his return on sports illustrated's website. he said, when i left cleveland i was on a mission. i was seeking championships and we won two. my goal is still to win as many titles as possible, no question. what's most important for me is bringing one trophy back to east ohio. lots of anger there four years ago when lebron left for miami. dan gilbert wrote a letter to fans bashing lebron. tod miami heat's pat riley said, i'm disappointed by lebron's decision to leave miami. no one can fault another person for wanting to return home. he said lebron is a fantastic leader, athlete, teammate and person. so everyone showing a lot of class today starting with the with announcements for lebron to the fallout afterward.
