the murder of a shop owner. we'll report what is being done to calm fears as the search for the killer continues. >> and capturing the fiery aftermath after four children were killed in an israeli air strike. but first, hundreds of vials of the potentially deadly germs found alongside forgotten smallpox samples of national institutes of health campus in bethesda. the investigation found a total of 327 vials in a cold room. the vials are being tested right now. this comes just days after lab workers found viable samples of the deadly smallpox virus created back in the 1950s. >> patients say they were shocked, a highly regarded neurologist in our region was arrested for allegedly giving out phony precipitations. this comes on the heels of a major drug bust operation in a local county. pat collins with more.

>> reporter: so was the doctor's office a crime scene? well that is where he was busted. the charge, precipitation fraud. pain specialty dr. sam oraee, charged by police with two counts of precipitation fraud. the doctor arrested at his office where police say he was handing out scripts for painkillers without doing the proper exams. >> so basically people are just going in and getting these medications, without really even justifying a reason to need them. >> no exam. >> no exam really no anything. >> prince william county police have really been cracking down on the illegal use of precipitation painkillers. last november it was operation blue dragon. they began rounding up people using those illegally precipitation drugs. last march it was operation dragon slayer who began

arresting people distributing the illegal painkillers. as a result of that they got a tip about dr. oraee and took a close look at him. dr. oraee is out on a $5,000 money wobond. i tried to talk to him but had no success. >> no he can't. goodbye. >> were you here when he was arrested. >> reporter: on the neurological center of northern virginia's website he's described as a highly sought of doctor of neurology and pain management. today i talked to some of his patients and they seemed surprised by this police action. >> totally ridiculous. he's been -- he's been very professional, excellent doctor, i think. >> reporter: tonight this warning from police. if you are involved in the illegal use of precipitation painkillers, they say they will track you down.

floo live in prince william county, pat collins. now the crisis at the border. americans are more concerned about immigration. 17% of americans believe the border crisis is one of our nation's top problems. that was just 5 percent last month. it is a virtual tie with overall dissatisfaction with the government. more than a 50,000 undocumented children have classed the border since last october. 000 the end of this year. >> later today hundred of people ral lid outside the white house. asking him to stop tearing parents away from their young children. those protesters are only a few of the voices trying to be heard in an emotional debate. kristen wright at the white house now. >> reporter: besides the children we've been talking about, we know there are many

immigrants. they are also formed by americans. like their children are bornd here. why not give them a chance to stay with their children. >> reporter: the recent surge of children at the border is as controversial as the recent immigration of adults. amnesty only encourages others who are undocumented to make the journ journey. these protesters chose to be at the white house today because president obama met with the white house congress to talk object possible solutions to this ongoing crisis. at the border. in the district, kristen right news 4. maryland governor finds himself in the middle of the debate. he stood by his criticism of the white house last week. it was time he said he believes america has a long tradition of providing protection to refugees and the white house should not try to speed up deportations. the governor was questioned after a report was leaked which said he asked a white house adviser not to house the immigrant children at a site in

westminster maryland. that site was recently vandalized. the governor told cnn there are already hundreds of undocumented kids already being housed in maryland. an actress and mother of six now headed to prison. shannon richardson sentenced to 18 years for sending letters laced with ricen to president obama and michael bloomburg. she mailed three letters and initially place the blame on her estranged letter. she pled guilty back in december. >> it appears a man shot and killed his wife and then killed himself. it happened today at a home in wood glen drive in hughesville. detectives say the homeowner found his son in a bedroom dead from a gunshot wound and lying nearby was that man's daughter-in-law. officers also recovered a shotgun at the scene.

more scrutiny over the expenses and management of a subsidized complex in d.c. t irs is now involved and it could be a political embarrassment for candidate for mayor. >> the political supporters of bouzer ran this complex until the city was forced to take it over. >> the high-rise park southern is home to 700 low income residents who had to hire a lawyer because of the run down conditions and mismagnet. >> health and safety conditions residents have reported for years, rodents, flooding mold. those clnt complaints have gone ignored. there's also complaint of the collection of rent, security deposits and money available to pay for needs. >> one long time resident says it's been terriblily mismanaged.

until the spring it was run by joyce scott and ms. jones. a washington post detailed how the rundown building has more than $600,000 late in mortgage payments and money in escrow was unaccounted for. the city seized control of the property this spring. today bouzer whose running for mayor denied allegations she improperly tried to help the former managers regain control of the building. she asked fuse tuesday for a full inspector general investigation. >> the facts are the facts and if there is anybody who's been accused of wrong doing i'm quite sure that the inspector general will get to the bottom of it. >> may vincent gray's included a

wider probe will be done. now all of these investigations may take a while but they also might raise more questions before the november election. jim and daureen. >> thank you. after months of wondering people forced from their homes after the landslide will finally know what's next for them. they will reveal the options at a meeting tonight. in may the landslide left six homes unhabitable and 22 others impacted. officials say it will cost more than $20 million to fix the problem but the county could decide it is better to pay people for their homes and knock them all down. right now crews are working to repair a water main in the district. this is along stanton road. a water main broke earlier causing a big hole to open up in

now both both sides are battering each other with missiles and artillery. several foreign journalists were right next to the beach when the boys were killed. minutes before the blast nbc's reporter was kicking a soccer ball with the victims. here is his report. >> reporter: it was a scene of karnage and devastation. we witnessed for ourselves. abou 4:00 local time we heard two loud explosions believed to be israeli shells that landed in the vicinity. and we saw smoke billowing from a hut on the water line. and at that point we also saw children running and screaming. it became apparent there were casualties and fatalities. several of those young children injured were rushed through our hotel loeb into the pack of an ambulance before going to the hospital. at the hospital we found one of the mothers there. she was looking for her

frantically. and heard of the air strike and didn't know whether he survived. one of the relatives came out and told her your son is dead, pray for him. and the mother broke down. she was overwhelmed with grief. couldn't move and was pulling on her hair and wailing and very emotion. in total there were 7 children playing by the sea port. four were killed. first cousins from the same family. all between the ages of 9 and 11 years old. four boys now dead. the bodies have been released to their families and funerals have taken place. and life here goes on in a very sad way. and just one of the hundreds of the famils who've lost people over the course of the last days. just minutes ago president obama spoke at the white house about the violence in gaza. >> we've all been heartbroken by

the violence. especially the death and injury of so many innocent civilians in gaza. men, women, and children who are caught in the cross fire. that is why we've been working with our partners in the region to pursue a cease fire. >> here are the details of that cease fire. israel has greed to stop firing at gaza for a five hour window tomorrow so food water and other supplies can be delivered. it is being called a humanitarian pause. however palestinian militants have not revealed whether they will respect the brief cease fire. the center for disease control is one of the most prestigious health agencies in the world. tonight lawmakers put the center under a microscope after nearly 80 employees exposed to anthrax

criminals out loose out in the streets. >> reporter: on july 4th two masked men walked into the market, beat the elderly couple who owned the store and fled. james oh died a few days later. his brother-in-law visited and told news4 his family is sad and continues to pray for the lost loved one. many of those at the meeting were hoping to hear police made an arrest. but they hadn't. they are hoping for a break. >> without somebody who witnessed the suspect, knows their face who can say i recognize those guy, i know who those guys are or i will recognize them again if i see them again, and we don't have right now because the faces were covered. >> one of the things the business owners complained about was being unable to keep a gun for protection. there was already this one surveillance camera on the

internal revenue service calling to collect a debt she wasn't aware of. >> i answered had phone and it was a prerecorded mental. >> this is the irs, to avoid further legal action, call this number immediately. you hear irs, legal action, and your mind starts racing. >> but the brookville, maryland woman says she and her husband did not owe money to the irs so she did not call the phone number. but not everyone is as cautious as ralph. calls like the one she received are hitting homes across the country demanding money for tax debts and financial information over the phone. >> they are nationwide and they are growing in sophistication, often these callers will call and seem to know a lot about their intended victim. >> sometimes scammers even in spite of the phone number to make it look like the irs toll free number on the caller id. the irs says there is one major
