three new speed cameras are up and running in northeast d.c., this one is minnesota avenue. if they catch you speeding, the district can fine you up to $300. but there is a 30-day warning period before they start issuing the tickets. two of the cameras will make sure you're driving 25 miles an hour. another one enforces rules to protect pedestrians. d.c. is now operating more than 170 speed cameras. well, it's been over 20 years since metro opened a new rail line. but in just one week you'll finally be able to ride the silver line through northern virginia. today we got a closer look at its new parking garage. the wheelie/reston stop has 2300 parking spaces, 45 kiss and ride spaces and 15 bus spaces. there is also a locker room for 200 bicycles.

new video from inside a shep wreck will be evidence in a historic manslaughter trial. this is footage from the costa concordia, the cruise ship that ran aground in 2012. 22 people died when it capsized. italian officials charged the ship's captain with causing the wreck and then abandoning the ship. he'll go on trial soon for manslaughter. but right now crews are still removing the wreckage, they expect to tow the ship back to port by monday. a florida jury has slammeded a tobacco company with one of the largest verdicts ever. they're worried more than $23 billion to the widow of a long time smoker who died of cancer. jurors came to their decision late last night. michael johnson died 18 years ago from lung cancer.

you don't see very many people just run away with a major from start to finish. >> no. >> it could happen. >> it happens sometimes. you see it sometimes with tiger woods back in the day. we're seeing it this weekend with rory mcilroy. he was deemed the next big thing in the world of golf right after he won his first major tournament back in 2011. now at the age of 5, rory mcilroy currently has just two majors on his resume. in comparison now, tiger woods had six major tournament wins under his belt at that same age. however, mcilroy and tiger are heading in completely different directions this weekend at the british open. mcilroy trying to bring home his

first open championship. early on, it was rickie fowler actually turning heads. here he is on 11 with a long putt for birdie. he has the line. and also has the distance. fowler nails it. ricky pulled even with mcilroy but now sits in second at 10 under. not a great weekend for tiger woods. but on one, woods' approach shot is pretty good here. gets the roll. this is going to stop just a few feet from the cup. he would bury the first hole he is currently at three over for the tournament. on 16, rory showing off his short game. a long putt for eagle. and mcilroy making it look easy this weekend. that dropped in the 15th. then on the 18th. rory's approach shot, pretty much sums up his weekend thus far. it's nearly perfect. nice roll here. another chance at eagle. how about that? on 16th, rory's putt, he's going to find the cup once again for
