11:16 am
differences. it's going to be about a $15 billion price tag. about $10 billion of that is for access to private health care for veterans who are waiting in long lines or have trouble getting to a va centering. the other $5 is for hiring nurses, helping with infrastructure and that. so since the difficulties last week, looks like they're coming together. we'll see them unveil this at a press conference later today. >> so the good news is they reached some sort of a deal. the downside the house has to approve a deal but their track record isn't good. >> this is one of the issues both sides really wanted to get done. there was overwhelm support for doing something about the va. both bills in the house and senate passed almost unanimously but trouble marrying the two together. >> you're optimistic about this? >> i think so. i think both sides want to pointing to at least something they have gotten done before they leave. sarah palin made an announcement this weekend. let's take a listen. >> this is a news channel that really is a lot more than news. this is a community where we're

11:39 am
actually can bond to tooth structure, which is helpful in either giving strength to the underlying tooth, which is really important, as well as the longevity. there's decreased leakage potential with time. >> how do you put on porcelain veneers? >> a lot of preparation goes on between myself and the dental technicians at the laboratory. we look at the bite and the chewing function. it essentially is a transfer over to a wax up, if you will. for instance, something like this where we really didn't configure where things belong. then we discuss that in the patients. the next step would be to prepare the tooth structure. of course trying temporaries. the temporary face is very important to try the bite, see how it feels, see the aesthetics and then we go on to the bonding mechanism. what's important to also understand with different formulas of porcelain, because there are, it's always important
11:40 am
to ensure that the bonding really stays into the enamel. as soon as we cross that enamel structure, if you will, and get into a dental, which is the underlying tooth structure, then we have a different strength, a much lesser strength potential. >> and this is a cosmetic procedure and you say there are things people should consider before they even think about something this serious. what are those different things that people should consider? >> things are, of course, that contribute to this are a healthy bone and gums and the architecture of the bone, where it is. and the gums always follow the bone. the next is a balanced and even bite. if you're going to restructure, the interior veneers are very thin so you want an even bite to be present. we want to be cavity-free and don't want a source of infection somewhere else and of course at the margins that we are dealing with and also the shade of the tooth structure that we're dealing with.
11:41 am
oftentim individuals may have staining and with these technologies we can improve and customize the type of porcelain to really give them a brighter, even up to six to seven shades difference. but of course everything has to be customized with the dental technicians. >> you really have to have everything in place before you consider things in terms of alignment and cavity-free and all that. >> it's a combination of science, expertise and art. >> all right, thanks so much, doctor. >> thanks for having me. a new tool for coffee lovers. the new idea no starbucks to let you walk in and walk out in less than an minute. and an exciting new lunch option in our area, but it's temporary so you've got to move
