today, her lawyers interviewed the many texts and e-mails between maureen and jonnie to show there was more than a business relationship. he insists his relationship was all business z. he gave them tens of thousands of dollars in gifts and loans in exchange for their help with his company's new product. defense attorneys hope a racy e-mail from maureen mcdonnell to williams suggests something different. they could not have criminally conspired to get the gifts and money because their marriagewas a wreck. the suggestive e-mail was sent in august of 2011 when an earthquake hit. the earth just moved and i'm not even having sex. it was one of 1200 texts or e-mails exchanged between williams and mcdonnell from april 2011 to february of 2013. some sent after midnight. >> what the content of the texts

a lawyer pleaded guilty today for causing a crash that killed two people in loudoun county. investigators say mark was driving drunk last october when he slammed into a couple riding a motorcycle. ricky was a navy veteran. he and his wife, leah, were killed. today, he pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter and one count of dui. he's out on bond and has to turn himself in thursday for sentencing. repairs are under way after a busted walter main spent gallo of water. crews have been working around the clock, but it could be days before things are back to normal. pat collins is live. >> the work is under way. it's a big hole, it's a big job. it's going to take big money to make things right out here. you know, they are dealing with a lot of old water pipes out here. the pipe that broke yesterday

was 73 years old. in fact, the wssc says it is averaging 1700 water main breaks a year. this is the story of one of them. good news. they managed to stop that big water main leak in hyattsville. bad news, there's still a lot of work to do. look at the size of that hole. it's nine feet deep. look at what they have to deal with down there. when this thing broke, it broke bad. it went on for more than three hours. the water came cascading down the street. route 1 looked like, well it looked like the rhode island avenue river. >> an 18-foot section of pipe, the entire section literally blew out from end-to-end and created a huge mess. >> reporter: they believe there's more compromised pipe

because of this? live in hyattsville, pat collins, news 4. now torks the latest developments on the quickly changing crisis in the middle east. tensions are escalating between israel and hamas after the capture of a soldier. 60 palestinians and two israeli soldiers were killed in fighting today, shattering the u.s. brokered cease-fire that took effect hours earlier. israeli forces are moving deeper into gaza to find the missing soldier. now, on capitol hill, a vote on the immigration bi is expected any minute. house republicans are trying to clear the way for the potential deportation of half a million immigrant children. president obama says it won't get anywhere. >> i'm going to have to act alone. we don't have enough reces. we have been very clear. we have run out of money. >> he's promising to veto the bill, warning he may take

together with time warner cable, we can bring the internet to millions more. it helped me a lot. comcast and time warner cable. together is better for more people. we want to bring you the latest in a sexting case surrounding a local high schooler, a case that got international attention. tonight, we know the fate of a manassas teen charged with two felonies for exchanging explicit pictures with his girlfriend. david culver was in court for the judge's ruling. >> reporter: trey sims walked into the courthouse with his aunt by his side, not knowing if he would walk out a free man. we introduced you to trey last month. they reached out to us, wanting to share his story. they claimed prosecutors were going too far to prove their sexting case. adding that police took nude

pictures of the minor to compare with evidence and threatened to take more explicit photos. they backed off that controversial search warrant and the judge ruled the first photos could not be used. today in court, the prosecution put forward pictures exchanged between trey and his former girlfriend. the alleged victim's mother took the standpointing out her daughter in photos. no one could prove it was trey in the pictures or that he sent them, even though they came from his phone. after more than two hours, the judge issued his ruling. instead of finding trey guilty or innocent, he decided to put the 17-year-old under probation. 100 hours of public community service, cannot contact the victim of family, no sexting or the internet. trey will not have to register as sex offender. he caught up with his aunt after court.

a privacy group is suing facebook saying facebook is violating the privacy of overseas users. they call themselves europe versus facebook. a spokesperson filed the suit in vienna, austria. they are asking for $670 because the group says it wants to call attention to people's rights. virginia congressman eric cantor is leaving capitol hill early. he announced his last day is august 18th. he suffered a stunning upset in june when he lost the primary election to david brat. cantor said he would stay until january. now he's asked terry mcauliffe mediely.he winner leave they are considering that.

some avid runners are in a fight with the army core of engineers. they want to put up a chain-link fence on part of the ireland trail in silver spring. they say the soil and the stream are contaminated with toxins and medical waste from a nearby landfill. the trail is near a medical research facility operated by the fort. residents say warning signs are enough and they don't need a fence. everyone seems to have an opinion about the redskins name controversy except for virginia's governor. he visited the training camp and spent time viz diting deangelo hall. when asked if the team should change the name, he said it's not his decision. >> i'm not in the business of telling businesses what to do. voters elected me to get jobs. this team is helping me get jobs. >> he said he understands that some people are offended by the

inspects poultry like chicken and turkey. under the new rules, they will focus on food safety as opposed to quality. the usda says it move could cut down as many as 5,000 food born illness cases each year. both the chicken and turkey industry praised the new standards put into place. sandwich shop, jimmy johns is the newest potential victim of a data breach. security blogs reported the breach. they say the breach could involve customer's credit card information. we called and e-mailed jimmy johns. they did say they are working with authorities and investigating this breach. tonight, three new safety recalls this time. hyundai recalling 400,000 cars and suvs to fix three safety issues. the biggest recall involved 200,000 older model santa fe suvs. the traffic administration says

redskins training camp in richmond. day nine already. guys after every practice the redskins walk over to the crowd and pick out a little kid right in the crowd there and they usually try to pick out the cutest kid, one that's crying or maybe it's their birthday. andre showed us today who he is looking for. >> they have to yell as loud as they can. hey, nine, what's up, man? you have to be done crying. you have to get a lot of autographs today, all right. kirk, we need you. come on, let's get out there. alfred, we need you. the long white shirt. signing autographs, we are going to run and huddle around heim and get his autograph. >> you have a ball and a helmet in oh, my goodness, you are a fan. >> reporter: there's no doubt they are using cuteness to their advantage. >> i'm getting spoiled. i'm milking it.
