his remains are on an aircraft, have already left a military base in germany on the way to dover delaware. once the body arrives in dover, there would be a transfer ceremony. he was killed on tuesday. a gunman opened fire shooting him in the back. there were 15 other service members that were also injured in that attack. the greene family is from the area. this will no doubt be ap krn emotional day for them. the capitol hill press secretary accused of bringing a gun to work will be in court today. they say he had a .9 millimeter semiautomatic hand gun in his briefcase. it was not loaded, but there was a magazine in his briefcase, too. he says the bhol thiwhole thing accident. if convicted, he could get up to

five years. and investigators are trying to figure out what happened when a tree trunk killed a worker. they say a worker was removing some logs from property on rock spring road near the washington country club. neighbors hood a heard,0 a loud thud and then some screaming. >> an adult male was crushed bay a tree truck. the section of the trunk rolled off, ultimately crushing him. >> other workers tried to free the man but could not save him. the deadly incident has been handed over to inspectors from osha. we have breaking news. president putin fighting back against u.s. and european sanction. this morning russia released a

we're on top of breaking you news. a murder investigation in anne arundel county. chopper 4 over the crime scene right now. this is the exxon gas station at route 175 and ridge road. we have confirmation from anne arundel police that one person was found dead there at the gas station. you see it is blocked off as police conduct their investigation. still waiting to learn what the circumstances are. perhaps a robbery attempt. and who is dead there on the scene. but again, we are on top of this. we also know that there are additional officers that have been called out to join in the homicide investigation. so as soon as we learn more, we'll let you know. but a murder investigation unfolding now at that gas station. closing arguments are under way in the pistorius murder

trial. this is a live look inside the courtroom in pretoria. the chief prosecutors is delivering his final arts right now. he says the pistorius lied while on the stand and the defense presented two different arguments. he added that the defense has promised to call witnesses to prove pistorius sounds like a woman when he screams which never happened. the defense will give their closing arguments tomorrow. the double amputee is accused of intentionally killing his girl friend. pistorius claims he shot and killed her by mistake thinking she was an intruder in his home. lawyers for the suspected boston marathon bomber say he has no chance of getting a fair trial in massachusetts, so they will try to get his trial moved out of that state. in july a judge gave attorneys until today to make the case. tsarnaev is a waiting trial and faces the possibility of a death penalty. this morning police in prince william county are asking

for your help to find a man who tried to rob a bank in woodbridge. police say this man rode his bike up to a driver-through teller claiming to have a bomb this his backpack and demanded cash. thist a bank of america branch on old branch. no one was hurt. two public schools are being called out for the way they treat students with disabilities. according to the "washington post," pace east and pace west frequently restrained, a clute a clutsed and removed children from classrooms and deny the students with disat as free appropriate public education. education officials says there was no evidence that students were physically harmed. back to back major storms are headed toward hawaii.

two hurricanes churning out at sea aiming correctly at the hawaiian islands. hurricane iselle expected to hit tonight and julio could hit sunday. one of those upgraded to a category 2 in the last hour. the state's governor declared a stafts emergency, as well. and as hawaii gets ready for those systems, we'll get an update on the atlantic hurricane season today. government meteorologists will release their new hurricane outlook for this year. the initial forecast called for 8 to 13 named storms in the atlantic. that is almost below normal. so far we've seen two named storms. hurricane season runs through november 30th. we're celebrating rockville this morning. and it has a special relationship with a city in a different country. angie goff is live this morning with a look at what that is all about. angie, pretty picture outside behind you. >> reporter: good more thning. i have to point out this beautiful mansion behind me built in 1926.

tracie potts live on capitol hill. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. that is the question that everyone has here in the u.s. including lawmakers. what is the risk here in the united states? the cdc and other health experts have said extremely low because unlike the west affarican count, we had a quick public health response. and himself talso the fact we h ability to convictiquickly isol patients. the cdc has upped the alert to a level one, the highest possible level. they're concerned about whether or not this will spread from western africa. they're sending 50 more people over there over the next month to try to contain that virus, to keep it from crossing the

turn. such a dangerous practice there. we're told that he has a severe head injury. this morning we know the name of the man killed in a violent crash in northeast washington. police say 24 maurice kirkland died after he lost control of his car. he hit a pole on h street northeast and slammed into a truck. the car burst into flames. he died at the hospital. investigators are still trying to figure out how he lost control of his car. later this morning, the son of marion barry will be in court. christopher barry was arrested last month for driving on a revoked license and possession of synthetic marijuana. this is his fourth arrest since the beginning of may. uber says it's testing a new idea that could save you some money. it's called uber pool. you put your location in and where you want to go and uber pool will connect with you somebody else traveling a similar. you calit the ride to save

taking it very seriously. the governor got the proclamation yesterday. schools are closed. people have been basically pulling food and water off the shelves like crazy. we're in downtown hilo. we had a little light rain. the worst will probably come in over the next 8 to 12 hours. that's when we'll get if you will the landfall. the problem is if you go along this area where there are so many shops, probably about two out of 100 of these shops that are bored up. and here is why they probably should be. if we're going to get 85 to 90-mile-an-hour winds, this kind of glass, any debris flying around has a chance of shattering this glass. and obviously causing major damage. so i think today you'll see a big ramp up of that this morning once people get up. remember, it's almost 1:00 in the morning here at this point. so people have settled down for the day. but they're taking this
