>> reporter: these thieves were very determined. they saw the huge condenser units that supply air conditioning to the church building. they still had services this morning. it was very hot. so they decided to cancel the afternoon services for the safety of the congregation. >> this is or cage where we hold all of our air conditioning units. >> reporter: associate pastor daniel ray shows us the damage. >> came in and methodically dismantled four units. >> reporter: they supply air conditioning to the sanctuary. about how hot did it feel in here? >> at least a good 90 or close to 100 degrees in here. >> reporter: pastor ray says the thieves climbed the cage and ripped out the units. >> it was well planned, well executed. >> reporter: they weigh hundr of pounds a piece. >> the fence was went a little

bit. could have been a rope or something that they used to pull them up. not sure. >> reporter: pastor ray believes the thieves we aer the copper inside the condenser units can be sold for cash. >> people are desperate and it didn't hear whether it's a church or commercial property, people will do what they want to do. >> reporter: the morning service di go on with the help of handheld and oscillating fans. >> the service was very hot, but we did have a good service. something that we had to endure, but we did it. >> reporter: and while parishioners suffered through the service, pastor ray says he's thankful no one was hurt. the units can be replaced. here is his message to the thieves. >> and that's what we want to let everybody know that we love them, we forgive you whoever you are, we forgive you. >> reporter: and that is what everyone said that we talked to here, that they do forgive the people who committed this crime here. the good news is that this church has insurance, so it

the scenes look today. the netflix series usually films in baltimore. it came to d.c. for a motorcade scene. they had a fake presidential limo complete with a realistic seal. it will be there until about 10:00 tonight. believe it or not, summer is winding down and local kids head back to class in just a few weeks. that's why prince george's county held its ambac to school fair today. it was a one stop shop for parents. they can register their children, buy supplies and get their shots. the school ceo says students can expect more rigorous lesson plans this fall. >> one of the parents said he saw the new elementary math and he was very pleased and said it's the right math. so makes you feel like we're going down the right road.

some of the biggest questions of training camp always have to do with not how a guy is playing, but who is hurt. you have to keep people healthy. making sure they're ready to go. a few quick updates from richmond. jordan reed missed practice because he was sick. running back roy helu junior has a mild knee spranin. he's listed day to day. jason hatcher practiced the

first time the entire training camp. he's one of the key defensive free agents brought in from the cowboys. the nine year rowe had been recovering from knee surgery. he was placed on thes if will he unable to perform list at the beginning of training camp. he did not participate in team drills, but he did some individual work. coming off the injury, hatcher is slowing his way back into the rotation. >> just the mental point. my knee is good. just go out there and playing as hard as i can. once i did that i was able to get over it mentally. from the looks of it, we will have a great against and that's exciting to me. so that kind of motivated me to work hard. this is a special group of guys and they want to win. >> i would wait until week one. but i'm not the head coach. but we all know what hatcher can do. we need him 100%. so we'll be ready to go. we'll be loetded.
