in prince george's county, there is a manhunt for the suspect who shot and killed a 3-year-old girl in her own home. this man, 25-year-old devon wallace, pulled the trigger. the shooting happened yesterday afternoon in broad daylight on forest terrace in landover. zachary kiesch is live in land skroe over. >> reporter: good morning. it you want to fael lieel like safe in your own home, but that did not happen here. you can see the home behind me, bullets pierced through this home. again, killing a 3-year-old girl. police say devon wallace pulled the trigger. today he is a wanted man. again it all happened yesterday afternoon on forest terrace and landover. wallace got into an argument outside the home. at some point he left and

returned with a gurp. gun. he shot up the house and killed a 3-year-old. he's 25, police say he is an acquaintance of somebody who lives in the home. if you have have any information, contact the prince george's county police department. wallace is wanted for the 3-year-old murder. the young girl was in her upstairs bedroom when it s happened. zachary kiesch, news 4. u.s. officials have begun directly providing weapons to kurdish forces. the u.s. previously had insisted on only selling arms to the iraqi government. will comes as the u.s. launches its fourth round of air strikes taking out armored vehicles and key more tore positi positions. state department says a limited number of staff from the consulate in erbil and embassy in baghdad have been relocated as a precaution. this morning settle of state

john kerry is urging iraq's prime minister not to obstruct the formation of a new iraqi government. kerry says a new iraqi government is critical to the country's stability. today in montgomery county, a man convicted in a brutal beating will be sennc. e deshs h repeatedly stomping on a rockville man's head last year in april. the good samaritan stopped the at takings but not before the man's eye sockets were crushed. he could face up on 30 years in prison for attempt murder. former virginia governor bob mcdonnell had the weekend off, but he'll be back in court today. he and his wife are on trial for corruption, but say they couldn't have conspired to trade political favors for gifts because their marriage was falling apart. however, a close friend of the couple doubted that claim while on the stand. that friend was also their stockbroker. prosecutors want to use his testimony to show the mcdonnells

chances this week in your weather and traffic on the 1s at 6:21. we're following a developing story near st. louis, missouri this morning. a vigil for a man killed by police over the weekend turned violent. thousands of people crammed the streets of ferguson, missouri to remember 18-year-old michael brown. brown was unarmed when he was shot and killed saturday during a scuffle with a police officer. after the vigil, people looted a convenience store and other businesses near the shooting scene. small fires were also reported. no one was hurt, though. a $25,000 reward is being offered for information about a woman's murder in prince george's county. she was found shot to death yesterday on sycamore lane. police say the shooting was not random and the woman may have known the gunman. police in frederick arrested three men from breaking into an abandoned mall, frederick towne

mall. a security officer says he saw one of the doors pried open. officers went inside the mall and arrested the three burglars. all three are in their 20s. they have been charged with burglary and trespassing. investigators trying to figure out what caused a fire that hurt eight people including a firefighter in new york. the fire broke out last night in a high rise in the tribeca neighborhood. everyone is expected to b. a rescue effort is under way off the hawaiian coast. the operation is happen building 400 miles north of oahu. that is a 42-foot sailboat crews are looking for. the sailors septembnt out a dis call after the boat took on too much water. on board pumps complaian't keep with the flooding. a florida man is behind bars after alledgedly crashing in to a storefront because he was

screaming, women started crying. >> three children were treated for minor injuries after evacuating the plane. nobody was seriously hurt. the faa now investigating. 6:19. a florida woman stashed nearly $41,000 in her clothing and carry-on bag when she tried to catch a plane to the philippines. that is according to a federal complaint filed friday. customs and border protection officers stopped the woman at the detroit airport in april. agents searched her and found $2 it is,000 hidden in her girdle. the woman said she did not want to wire the money to the philippines because she thought it was safer to carry the money there. even though the woman hasn't been charged, the federal government wants to keep that money because she did not disclose that she was carrying more than $10,000. well, it was a spectacular sight to see all the way from the west coast to the east coast. >> an eye popping view for sky watchers. super moon happens when a full moon coincides with the moon's close he is approach to the

no major incidents on the beltway right now. things running very smoothly. we have major slowing 95 northbound out of spotsylvania county, looking at 24 miles an hour approaching route 1. and again as you're approaching the beltway, looking slow again. you're looking at an 18 minute ride between the prin william parkway to the beltway. back to you. in news 4 your health, there is a new study about your kid's safety on the field. researchers looked at a lot of high school football injuries and discovered you're more likely to faint if you're hit on the top of your head. they say you can receive a concussion from a head injury at any angle, though. that study was published in the journal of pediatrics. we found ways that you can lower your insurance bill while covering your teen driver. they can qualify for discounts for getting good grades. laura adams from insurance quotes.com explains.

gas prices are falling across our region. one of our producers found gas for $3.03, $3.04 if you count the nine there, per gallon near spotsylvania hospital. aaa says the national average has dropped 20 cents since june. a spokesman says crude oil is trading well below $100 a barrel. that is leaving pump prices nowhere to go but down.

davon wallace charged with murder in the death of a 3-year-old girl. zachary kiesch is live in landover with the manhunt. >> reporter: she was in an upstairs bedroom, she was in an upstairs bedroom which raises the question if you can't be safe in your own home, where can you be safe? here in landover yesterday, it was anything but. we're looking at the corner unit right here again in landover. and that is the home that bullets pierced through and killed a 3-year-old girl. police say davon wallace pulled the trigger and today he's a wanted man. this all happened yetft heren forest terrace. police say wallace got into a physical argument outside the home. at some point he left and returned with a gun. he sprayed the house up, killing the 3-year-old. he's 25, police say he is an acquaintance of someone o lives in the home.
