news? we're breaking it here today. savannah had a baby. >> vale guthrie feldman. born yesterday, august 13th. that means she had one day off. she was here monday, went to the doctor tuesday, and the baby came yesterday. >> 8 pounds, 5 ounces, 19 1/2 inches long. here's how savannah describes this cute little baby. has blue eyes, a little bit of blondish hair, and the chubbiest cheeks you've ever seen. she says they are overcome with happiness, gratitude and joy. we are practically levitating in excitement. >> look at her beaming. >> i think we found heaven in this little hospital in new york city. i love that. >> something about that picture. >> what a statement. >> i'm here and i'm going to make a mess. >> congratulations to savannah. she's got to be exhausted but she looks so happy and the same with mike. we were watching it in the makeup room when it came on at 7:00 and literally everybody was

and watch "the giver." i had the dvd and i wanted to give it back today. haven't had a chance to get to it. and i went out to let the puppies out and i literally gasped to the point that my husband and son came running out. and cody then took this picture of what we saw. look at that. that was a double rainbow. and that doesn't even show the colors. we had a sudden thunderstorm. we thought all the rain was gone. thunderstorm comes up. in 20 years of living there, never seen -- >> i've never seen one that went all the way. usually just part of one. the mountain or whatever. >> i know. i just wanted to share that with everybody. we had a couple of miracles everybody. a little baby and that rainbow. >> lk what happened to me. i was running in the park, la la la. >> running with visual. >> i like to show it. and this old guy stopped me. while i was running. crack of dawn. he goes, stop for a second, i want to tell you something. >> oh-oh. >> he said, have you ever heard

of itzhak perlman? the violinist. i said sure. he said, i'm going to tell you a little story. itzhak perlman got onstage to perform, lincoln center or something, he was getting ready to perform and just as he started one of his strings popped. he had three strings left. he said everyone was looking around, the place got quiet, they were trying to figure out if someone should bring him a violin -- >> a bow. one of the strings from the violin? wow. >> he cued the conductor to play. and the conductor and the rest of them kept going. he played his heart out. when it was over it was silent. the whole place erupted in applause. he stopped and he said, "sometimes you have to play with what you have." wasn't that a great lesson in a stranger in the park. i looked at that guy and i thought, sometimes you have the hand that you're dealt and you've got to do the best you can with it. >> yeah, what was his point?

gripping. fascinating. i've seen the first three episodes and after each one i'm like -- i get frightened watching it. >> you know what's happening. >> i know what's happening but i get frightened watching it. in a good way, though. there is something wonderful about being chilled in an intelligent suspense way. >> dark. >> that's where it works. you're not prepared for it. you think you've got it all down. and then something happens quite quickly. >> there are so many surprises. it doesn't go in any way that you would expect it to. there's so many shocking things that occur. it's kind of -- it was a great range to play. from vulnerable and broken, to very strong and machiavellian and passionate. >> look at you, big words. we're confused. >> you're not with woody allen, you're with us. >> all right. we need to talk about another part of your life. you're a huge star trek fan. >> i am. >> trekkie.
