tragedy to hit this family in ah matter of days. >> a house customized for a wounded army veteran destroyed in minutes. >> i couldn't see a foot in front of my face. >> how his wife and neighbors came to the rescue. >> demonstrators hit the streets of ferguson, missouri. the family of a dead teenager accusing the police chief of a smear campaign. >> announcer: news 4 at 11:00 starts now. >> family members are grieving tonight after a gruesome discovery inside a maryland home. good evening, i'm doreen gensler. >> police found three people shot in the apartment on add son road south in district heights this afternoon. all three died. now investigators say it looks like a murder-suicide. jackie benson is live with the latest. >> no names have been released. relatives tell us one of the

women is a woman in her 30s who lives in that home. we do not know her relationship to the man who is believed to have shot both her and another woman. >> well into the evening, investigators continue to go in and out of the house on addison road south in district heights. just before 5:00, gunshots were heard in the pickwick square townhouse complex. someone called 911. this neighbor saw the response. >> there was a swat team toward the front. it broadcast on their speakers to let the person know they're coming out. >> neighbors say the woman who lived in the house had been living there alone since her mother's death of natural causes a week or so ago. nikia braxton lives down the road. she was at work.

the community again. brown's family said it is an attempt to assassinate his character the. here's more from ferguson. >> reporter: for a second night after several days of violent demonstrations a peaceful gathering in ferguson with highway patrol captain ron johnson in the midst of the crowdment a welcome sign after tensions swelled friday when new details sparked new questions in the shooting death of 18-year-old michael brown. police released the name of the officer involved, darren wilson. >> he's within a police officer for six years. had no disciplinary action taken against him. he was treated for injuries which occurred on saturday. >> reporter: police made public this convenience store security footage police say showed michael brown minutes before he was killed, allegedly stealing cigars and pushing a clerk. ferguson police chief tom jackson said the officer wilson who stopped the teen and a. companion from blocking traffic

>> neighbors come to the rescue of a wounded warrior, his wife and their dogs. we showed you the devastation at this montgomery county home. the man who lived here is a triple amputee. he serveded our country in afghanistan. tonight chris lawrence talks to his wife and the neighbors who helped him get out. >> reporter: jessica saw her husband through a year and a half of gruelling rehab, only to lose her home a few months after moving in. >> we have been through worse. just one more setback. >> reporter: thursday night fire broke out in the garage. the neighbors saw it and rushed to help save them and their dogs. >> no one was around. i called 911 real quick. >> and the heat coming off of that and the damage of this thing, you know, it was like a furnace. >> reporter: the fire was engulfing the house and jessica was inhaling smoke. >> to the time i saw it to the time i couldn't see a foot in front of my face was barely two

minutes. we were really lucky. >> reporter: she can use that word with perspective. one of her husband's wheelchairs burned in the fire. eddie klein's friends call him flip. he's an athletic over achiever who went from enlisted man to west point. he stepped on a roadside bomb two years ago in afghanistan and lost both legs, an arm and several fingers. i have been to that area where it happened in kandahar. it is a rugged, violent part of the country. klein was treated in walter reed. they were able to move back into a home with their dogs. the landlord installed ramps all over the house. even a special stairlift so klein could get down to the basement. >> this house was with perfect for us. we were really lucky to find it. i don't know that we are going to find something like this again. it's pretty devastating. >> reporter: she said it herself. they have been through worse. jessica found a way to carry her

husband out. neighbors rushed to help. that's likely to continue on this facebook page, friends of flip, where people are lining up to find a way to get this family back on their feet. chris lawrence, news 4. >> new at 11:00, now an indictment tonight against possible presidential hopeful and texas governor rick perry. he's accused of abusing his power, illegally vetoing funding for state corruption prosecutors. the republican promised to veto $7.5 million for the public integrity unit if the leader, a democrat, didn't resign. she had been convicted of dui. when she didn't, perry carried out the veto. his attorney said it was legal and the governor will fight the charges. >> 15 days into the corruption trial for virginia's former governor and his wife bob mcdonnell calls it crushing to be part of the case. he's ready to present his side of the story.

>> a d.c. man faces charges tonight for allegedly scamming an 89-year-old woman out of nearly $9,000. michael adams offered to to paint a small scratch on the victim's car back in march. for months he told her to meet him in a home depot parking lot for other repairs. he demanded $5,000. she paid it along with $4,000 in gift cards. adams is not a certified mechanic. an inspection of the victim car revealed no work had been done and thor car needed $460 in repairs. >> it's happened again. the company that owns shoppers food stores is warning consumes about a data breach. super value says hackers accessed a network that processes payment cards. payments between june 22 and july 17 at 180 supervalu stores here in virginia and maryland.

a new player is about to start casino wars. today we got a sneak peek inside. it features the first in the state outdoor gaming area for smokers and restaurants owned by celebrity chefs like guy fieri and aaron sanchez. they hope it will be a destination not just for gamblers. it opens tuesday, the 26th at 9:00 p.m. they are still hiring. >> as another casino opens in maryland atlantic city's newest casino is planning to close a week earlier are than expected. the revel casino opened two years ago marketed as the savior

of the struggling casino industry. it's been unable to find a buyer. it was supposed to close september 10 but will shutter eight days sooner. by the end of the year four of atlantic city's 12 casinos will have closed. >> tonight from the news 4 i-team while fares are rising the number of people trying to sneak onto metro trains is dropping. police show a 33% drop this summer. they are using plain clothes officers to crack down on people. the i-team got images of more than a dozen passengers trying to sneak onto the trains. >> why is the number going down? >> we attribute it to a lot of things. good enforcement. making people aware. we see a lot of the bus operators there so we put
