possibly burning and trying to f figure out exactly what happened. just before sunrise to the left this morning. they found the fire on the first floor. it quickly spread to the second floor. now, three people and one fighter have been taken away. we're told all of the injuries are non-life threatening. folks in the neighborhood also say this is the second time there has been a fire here. the first fire or the fire before this actually started in the house adjacent to that and spread to this house. the adjacent house has been renovated. this house remains the same. didn't see this much damage. as much damage as it's seen now. some are telling us this is called balloon construction. you see a lot of this in the neighborhood. where you have air space in the walls. it is made to allow heat to travel through the structure. but it also helps the spread of flames. a fire started in the first floor will quickly spread upstairs because they don't have fire stops.

we last learned he was in serious condition. investigators trying to figure out what led to a double murder and a suicide in district heights. last night police found two women and a man shot at the pick wick square townhouse complex. this is on addison road south. police say the man shot the women before turning the gun on himself. neighbors were startled by all of the activity. >> they had a s.w.a.t. team run in the back area. they went to the front, they broke on the speakers letting the person know they coming out. they had ten seconds. no one responded and they kicked in the door. >> the names of the victims have not been released. what started as a peaceful night in ferguson quickly turned violent. after midnight, police suited up in riot gear again and tried dispersing a crowd with tear gas. three more businesses were vandalized last night.

including the convenience store where michael brown allegedly stole cigars minutes before he was killed. community members did step in to help protect the store from looters. tensions between police and this community still high after brown, an unarmed black teenager, was shot to death last week by a police officer. michael brown's family this morning is accusing the ferguson police department of demonizing their son. the family's attorney says the department is trying to shift focus from the shooting to brown's alleged robbery at the ferguson market. >> reporter: the world is just curious. why did you do that? why did you do that? of all of the things for the world to talk about and release, couldn't he at least released information on the justification for why this officer would shoot a person in broad daylight? >> reporter: attorneys for brown's family called the action nothing short of devious. and said the still photos

released by police don't accurately depict the situation in the market. >> why he would put the world through seeing the pictures when he had a video that was a better portrayal. >> we got a lot of requests for this tape. and at point it was just determined that we had to release it. >> reporter: brown's family calls the video smoke and mirrors. >> this is the universal call for i surrender. i can hear my cousin's voice right now saying don't shoot. >> reporter: brown's family is calling for peaceful protests despite their anger with police. >> please support us, stay with us, but do not get distracted. we don't want to see any violence in the streets. >> brown's parents asked the justice department to oversee a second autopsy.

he disappeared from his base in 2009. and former members of the unit say he walked away from his post. he was captured by the taliban and freed in may. that final report could be finished in a few weeks. the findings will determine wheth whether bergdahl. a couple were charged with kidnapping for kidnapping two amish sisters 7 and 12 years old from their family's farm stand on wednesday. they turned up unharmed thursday night about 15 miles from their house. rick perry's lawyer says he's outraged and appalled by a decision to indict him. the texas governor is accused of abusing his power by illegally vetoing funding. the attorney says perry had the authority to veto and it violates the state's constitution. the governor's threat to veto

after a da did not resign after being convicted of dui. when she did not resign, he carried out the veto. he is the first texas governor to be indicted in nearly a century. take a look at this. you've got to believe your eyes because this did happen. this house getting stuck on the bridge in louisiana. the moving company that was moving it say that they miscalculated the height of the guardrail. police had to stop traffic for an hour to get everything moving again. you could see it was slow work. but somewhat of a scary situation. it's sort of teetering over the side of that. >> that's incredible. they may look like something out of the flintstones, but these domes right there could save your life potentially. this is a concrete tornado-proof storm shelter. its dome shape helps it withstand extreme weather conditions. some rural communities in oklahoma where they see a lot of tornadoes have already started using them.

>> the wind goes around it. when you have an extremely strong wind splitter, it doesn't care about 300 mile-an-hour winds. >> the designer of the dome says the structures can really last forever. engineers say the domes can be expensive, but they're also very energy efficient. so a homeowner could eventually hopefully recoup the cost of having one of these built. and we saw the devastating tornadoes in moore, oklahoma. anything they can do to make things safer for themselves. >> who cares what it looks like, right? as long as it protects you. those things look pretty cool. >> it is pretty cool. here you would get into a basement. but because of the soil they have there, most of the homes do not have basements because it's expensive to dig under the ground like that. either an underground shelter or these outdoor shelters are a good idea. for us we don't need to worry about severe weather in our neighborhoods today. it's going to be a fantastic way to get your weekend going.

montgomery county. neighbors came to the rescue of a wounded warrior, his wife, and their dogs. the man is a triple amputee from his service in our country. >> reporter: jessica klein saw her husband do a year and a half of grueling rehab only to lose her home a few months after moving in. >> you know, we've been through worse. one more setback. >> reporter: thursday night a fire broke out in the garage. their neighbors saw it and rushed to save them and their dogs. >> no one was around so i called 911 quick. >> and the heat was coming off of it. and the dodge of thamage of thit was like a furnace. >> from the time i saw it to the time i couldn't see a foot in front of my face, it was barely two minutes. we were really lucky. >> reporter: she can use that word with real perspective. one of her husband's wheelchairs

burned in the fire. eddie klein's friends call him flip. he's an athletic overachiever who went to west point. klein stepped on a roadside bomb in afghanistan two years ago and lost both legs, his arm, and several fingers. i've been to that area of kandahar where it happened and it's a rugged, violent, part of the country. klein was being treated at walter reed and they'd finally been a i believe to move back into a home with their dogs. the landlord had even installed ramps all over the house. even a special stair lift so klein could get down to the basement. >> this house was perfect for us. we were really lucky to find it. and i don't know that we're ever going to find something like this again. so it's pretty devastating. >> reporter: but she said it herself. they've been through worse. jessica found a way to carry her husband out. neighbors rushed to help. and that help is likely to continue on this facebook page.

friends of flip where people are already lining up to find a way to get this family back on their feet. chris lawrence, news4. >> we wish them the best. in the wake of a deadly crash involving nascar star tony stewart, the racing association is now changing its rules. drivers now are not allowed to approach the track or moving cars after a crash. last week stewart's car hit and killed a driver after he had gotten out of his car and walked onto the tracks. the new rule formalizes an old rule given to all of the drivers. stewart has not raced since that accident. family and close friends preparing to say their final good-byes to robin williams. the small funeral is reportedly taking place in san francisco this weekend. williams lived and got his comedic start there. he killed himself on monday. he was 63 years old. this week his widow revealed the actor had been diagnosed with parkinson's disease. a public memorial is being planned for later.

new this morning, pope francis visited a community that cares for people with genetic disabilities in korea. he also stopped to pray at a monument for aborted babies. the pontiff told the crowds their ancestors' willingness to die rather than renounce their religion is for missionaries. but we still do not know who blocked people in china from seeing the pope in south korea. 50 people were stopped at chinese airports earlier this week. china's central government offered no clarification on this. china and the vatican have no formal ties.

this just in. we have learned the name of a man and two women killed in a double murder/suicide in district heights. prince george's county police identified the suspect as leroy johnson jr. he is accused of shooting and killing his estranged wife angela johnson and another woman. police believe the man shot the two women and then turned the gun on himself. the shooting happened yesterday at the pick wick square townhouse complex on addison road south.

charlestown went and dumped ice water all over themselves for a good cause. now they're challenging continuing care communities all around the world to do the very same.
