from massachusetts when it crashed in deerfield virginia. it's in the western part of the state. officials are saying the pilot made a report of an inflight emergency just before contact was lost. a short time later dark smoke was reported near the aircraft's last location. police arrived and confirmed there was in fact a crash. chopper 4 was over the scene earlier this afternoon and no word on whether the pilot ejected before the plane went down. >> we have breaking news now. it looks like a second american was fighting for isis in syria. a law enforcement ofci confirms to nbc news, quote, it appears to be true that a second american was killed in the same incident as douglas mccain. nbc first reported yesterday mccain was kill over the weekend in a fierce battle between isis militants and rebels from the free syrian army. now it appears a second american was also killed in that same
