beaches saturd and sunday and even into the labor day weekend it looksikth beaches will be much much better. but even now the storm just south is east of our region. with that the current advisory, 75 miles an hour winds, moving north northeast at 15 miles per hour. expected to co that track. as it does it is expected to remain a hurricane and with that rough surf up and down the coast. around our areas, rip currents today especially through the day thursday and maybe even into friday. west coast it is the same thing. let's look at some video along our coastline. first we're going to head down around jacksonville beach, florida. where high su advisories continue. up the beach just a little bit or maybe a couple hundred miles towards virginia beach. this is that area. red flag warnings once again in that regio 'een a lot of rip currents threats around the virginia beach area. again in ocean city, of course rehoboth up to the new jersey

tonight a former police officer is facing time in prison after admitting to killing his girlfriend's puppy. and now his laer says he's remorseful aft the puppy's death in their silver spring home, the officer sent his girlfriend a text message. it said he killed the dog because it soiled their rug. news4 chris gordon with more on what happened court. >> reporter: news4 was there after alec taylor walked out of

court moments a pleading guilty. he resigned from the police department whe served more than six years. in february his girlfriend reported he had beaten and killed their 7 old jack russell terrier puppy. >> has mr. taylor expressed remorse? >> yes. obviously. all the way around. not just the charges but it was the break ouch a relationship that meant a fwoit him. >> he texted her saying i almost killed rocco. well i want to. paraphrasing he made a mess all over the carpet after i let him outside. taylor then sent avenilla a pho of rocco lifeless on the carpet. told her that he was pretty much dead and he was going throw him out. avilla asked if this was a sick joke. she found the dog's body on the
