we are expecting thin things tt to slow down as the afternoon progresses. big time for people to get away. thousands of people, 840,000 people in the washington area, are going to be leaving town for the long holiday weekend. now, that is the most since labor day 2008 when the recession was in full swing. most of those folks are going to travel by car. nearly nine out of ten people will actually be hitting the roads. so if you are going to be traveling, the adviviadvice her leave early or leave late. in terms of the choke points, 95 north and south, beltway also another trouble spot especially at the 270 split. a lot of people also going to the beaches. so keep an eye out for traffic along the bay bridge corridor. they have a lot of traffic cameras. you can take a look at th online. but with the bay bridge, same thing. leave early or leave late if you want to miss the traffic.

back to you. >> thank you, megan. today a teen accused of opening fire outside the national zoo will be in court. police say a 14-year-old shot two other young people outside the zoo on easter monday. they're believed to be members of rival gangs. the teen has been charged as a juvenile. he faces attempted murder. police say the gun used in the shooting last her been found. montgomery police are calling a gaithersburg scientist disappearance strange and they're waiting for more tips before continuing their search. search dogs were brought in yesterday. last thursday martin john rogers never showed up to work at the national institutes of health in rockville. that same day, surveillance caught him checking into a hotel in la veil, maryland. investigators say there have been possible sightings near poolesville and as far away as cumberland. his family is concerned for his health. >> this is like a bad dream that you read about in the newspaper and if you try to pick someone

a toddler is expected to be okay despite falling three stories from an apartment window. it happened around 8:00 last night. firefighters say the 3-year-old boy fell about 25 feet and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. he is expected to recover. police are not calling the fall suspicious. police say two men killed and dismembered their roommate and one of the suspects is on the run now. investigators say one admitted to his involvement in the murder of perez. perez' body was found in two bags. police say an argument inside the apartment escalated to violence. they are still looking for

another roommate, cruz vargas. canadian tour bus may have been speeding before it crashed in british columbia. 56 chinese tourists were on board the bus when it hit a median and rolled over. every single passenger was hurt in some way there. list say they got 911 calls of a speeding bus going downhill on the highway before that crash. a new lawsuit in missouri claiming police used excessive force on innocent bystanders during the ferguson protests. one of the plaintiffs says she and her 17-year-old son were arrested after not evacuating a mcdonald's quickly enough. a 23-year-old man says he was shot multiple times with rubber bullets achnd calmed racial slu. one man says he was arrested for filming the disturbances. the lawsuit seeks $40 million in damages. scientists at nhi are developing a vaccine for ebola. starting next week, 20 healthy volunteers will be given the
