football season for louden valley high school in virginia. the varsity coach was fired last week and some parents aren't happy about it. jackie benson reports they think it is connected to a big debate over tracking concussions. the louden valley vikings took to the field for the first game without their coach danny mcgrath who was fired days earlier. on the first day of summer practice, the parents booster club who purchased helmet sensors hooked them to the helmets to aid in concussion assessment. school officials cited krps including insufficient testing data and the fact that the devices voided the helmet warrantees said they weren't permitted. mcgrath didn't speak out on the sensors but ordered the team to take their helmets off, stopping the practice. >> want a free t-shirt?

this is a tropical system with moisture associated with it making its way up the coast, potentially hoving inland affecting us during the day on monday. this is looking higher through the evening tonight. future weather, times it out tomorrow. though problems. fog in parts of the region but not much. 4:00 in the afternoon though, here come the showers and thunderstorms out ahead of the front. very hot ahead of it, too, with temperatures in the mid 90s. it will feel like 100. the first line goes through. maybe a secondary line around 8:00 or 9:00. that's when i expect the stronger storms to come through with the frontal boundary. we could see storms tomorrow. any storms that develop could produce locally heavy downpours and winds. that's something we'll watch. amelia will have the latest on that. sunday, notice the cloud cover. watch the clouds just sit here. an easterly wind develops. northeasterly. we could deal with rain as early as monday morning.

on the diamonder tomorrow if your kid has sports tomorrow, baseball practice, k9d to 11:00 is the time to do it. warm and humid and 84. 3:00 to 5:00, it's hot and humid. 94. make sure the kids are drinking water. could see a couple of storms, especially to the west of d.c. out toward louden county, montgomery, frederick. 90 in martinsburg. 95 in fredricksburg. another very warm day across the region. it will complete the heat wave during the day tomorrow. by sunday we are only into the 80s. 81 on sunday with cloud cover. monday, once again 78 degrees for the high. i'm watching the system off the coast on sunday. watch it move to the north and bring in the moisture on monday. we could be in for a wet monday during the afternoon. that's something else we'll continue to watch. a lot going on. temperatures on wednesday back to around 82 degrees. if the system sits around and stalls out i have tuesday dry.
