the roads. how is it looking now? . well, we're on the inner loop of the beltway in montgomery county. take a look at the live camera. you can see the road conditions we're dealing with. we have moderate rain right now. an hour ago we had heavy rain. it is starting to let up a little bit. we are expecting it to go back and forth to light. what does this mean for your commute? when it rains, add some time to your commute. we are seeing some problems. not a major problem but a nuisance. 66 at the beltway, you can see the brain drops and beltway at river road. outer loop, very, very wet as you head into town. just be careful if you head out any time soon.

welcome back. metro's silver line striking gold with riders apparently. less than two months after opening the line is 60% of its projected ridership for the first full year of service. 15,000 are entering the the system on the silver line every week day. they are well on its goal to 25,000 riders after one year. metro may saop be headed in a new direction. the head of the agency will be stepping down. richard charles announced he will be retiring in january. he has worked through fare hikes, extensive delays but said things are better than when he started. he says he is approaching 70 and ready to spend more time with his family. >> the nats hoping for better weather. they will delay a delay/night

i'm richard jordan at the live desk. more protests in ferguson, missouri, even as federal investigators are there as part of the civil rights investigation. a crowd gathered at a university auditorium to express concerns following the shooting death of michael brown. well, apparently some people in the crowd thought investigators were not taking them seriously. that ignited further protest.

targeting air bags inside your car. it could cost you a a lot of money to replace. at least seven cars have been broken into this week along south 6th street near fort myer. insurance experts said it could cost $1,000 to replace the air bags. they can go for $200 on the black market. if you plan to bike to metro, they say it is safer to leave your bike at one of its stations than it was this time last year. metro transit police say there has been a 30% drop in bike theft the first half of 2013. crooks would use bolt cutters to take bikes right off the rack. metro is now offering bike lockers and recommend you use u locks on the front and back of the bikes. today you get to weigh in on
