more questions aboutt the nfl knew. the law enforcement official who says he sent the video to the league is now identifying the person he sent it to. the official claims he sunday a dvd to the attention of league security miller back in april. the official says he doesn't know if miller ever saw the dvd and that his only communication with the nfl was a voice mail from an unidentified woman confirming receipt of the package. tonight jeffrey miller released a statement saying, i unequivocally deny that i at any o and i had not watched it until it was made public on september 8th. rice was suspended indefinitely after the release of the video. he's appealing the ruling and his case will be heard, but no dateas been set. it's been all about football, but now the nba has to make some decisions about how it's going to handle domestic

violence. hornets player jeffrey taylor was arrested in michigan this morning, and charged with domestic assault. adam silver said he would review the league's abuse policies. right now, players face a minimum ten-game suspension. that's roughly equivalent to the first suspension ray rice faced. the nba does have the flexibility to come down much harder. a former government executive accused of out-of-control spending has now been indicted for fraud. his name is jeffrey neily. he retired from the general services administration in 2012. neily, seen here in the middle, was in charge of a conference in las vegas that cost taxpayers about a million dollars. it triggered a congressional investigation, three people fired or resigned over that scandal. now neily is accused of submitting fraudulent reimburre personal travel and expenses, also of making false statements. new tonight, county police

need your help to find a missing man. no one has seen him this morning when he left his vocational day program in maryland and never came back. police say he's diagnosed with autism and is developmentally disabled. he has run away before and in one instance, he was found 50 miles away in laurel. gray, cloudy, rain, but a change on the way. >> big change on the way. that change starts in as little as 12 hours. what a difference a day is going to make. first off, some rain across the area, upwards of 3/4 of an inch over the last 24 hours, in and around the d.c. metro area. some locations picking up a little bit more. but right now, radar is clear. however, still dealing with a little drizzle in parts of the area. that wl be gone tomorrow, but could see fog tomorrow.

temperatures around 60 degrees. then tomorrow afternoon, your commute, perfect, nice and warm, temperatures around 78 degrees. but that's not the biggest change. show you the weekend forecast in just a minute. >> thanks, doug. new at 11 tonight, a symbol of reassurance. new york city mayor bill de blasio and andrew cuomo both on a manhattan subway train today hours after word that a terror plot against the u.s. subway system had been foiled. that information came from iraq's new prime minister. he's in new york this week to meet with the united nations. several intelligence sources tell nbc news that there's no evidence of a current threat to the u.s. the isis plot, supposedly targeted subway systems in the u.s. and in paris. even though the iraqi prime minister didn't say where in the united states isis planned to attack, that alleged threat hit close to home in the nation's capital.

metro is aware of the report, but so far the agency has received no specific or credible threat. the transit agency says, because it's d.c., officers are always on high alert. >> on any given day, we have more than two dozen explosive detection k-9 units performing sweeps, in stations, aboard trains. we have thousands upon thousands of security cameras and other detection systems. >> metro recently sent an internal memo urging employees to be extra vigilant, but that memo did not specify a particular threat. attorney general eric holder announced today that he is resigning. he says he'll step down as soon as his replacement is approved. holder's tenure as head of the justice department, included the fast and furious gun scandal and the nsa phone records controversy. but he also took a leading role in supporting civil and voting rights, and same-sex marriage. >> work remains to be done, but

the three-alarm fire tore through a large ware house and destroyed a metal products company and an ice producer. firefighters say they had to deal with exploding propane tanks and ammonia in the air, but no one was hurt. a rescue was caught on kajra as a woman escaped on her roof to avoid a burglar. that woman huddled beneath part of the roof while the guy was above her, never saw her. she was calling the police. the intruder followed her and was just above her hiding when someone snapped a picture. that woman had been at home asleep when she heard somebody break in. an officer climbed on to the roof to help her get down, police arrested the guy up on the roof. >> that's pretty amazing. >> students claim some of their classmates have formed a fight club at a high school in northern virginia. that means everyone is going to see more security tomorrow.

in the morning, extra deputies will be on duty at fauquier high school. the rumors started when someone created a fight club twitter account, started posting about fights and making threats of more violence. that account has been shut down. and fauquier's principal thinks it's someone looking for attention. >> there's no such thing as fight club, everything that we've learned and found out, it's just that, a rumor. >> but some parents say the school isn't taking it seriously enough. in e last three days, t four which is more than the school had all of last year. >> over in prince george's county, officials are being accused of using segregation to fix rising dropout rates. the school wants to establish two new english-language high schools and focus on immigrants, specifically latinos. but the naacp says it's unfair and illegal, saying it separates a group from the majority and violates the 14th amendment.

apple has released a new operating system days after it yanked the last one. the company promised its 8.2 update will fix the problem. customers were complaining they spent hundreds of dollars on the six, only two find out it didn't connect to cellular networks and touch buttons didn't scan for fingerprints. apple says the update should fix the bugs. >> we've had, i don't know, kind of a yucky last day or so, but we're go to get help. >> the first weekend of fall is looking like a very, very nice weekend out there. it's the first official weekend of fall. but it's going to feel a little bit more like summer as temperatures will climb back to th 80s after highs today barely reach the 70-degree mark. it's been raining just about all day at the airport. but dry conditions now. cloud cover over the region. winds out of the north at 10
