according to the latest report, omar gonzalez made it much further into the white house n service first said. the wast post says he made it into the east room before he was tackled. gonzalez is in jail right now. te post also reported an alarm box was mental crueltied and an officer fail box was muted and an officer failed to lock the front door. >> pearson so far appears forthcoming. already accepting responsibility for the incident 11 days ago when omar gonzalez jumped a fence in the white house and made it inside the executive mansion with a knife. he's are live pictures of the house oversight committee unfolding right now. we heard some of the issues when it comes to protecting the mansion. they say six people have jumped the fence just this year. back in 2011 bullets hit the

very seriously injuring her. it happened a little before 8:00 right near the entrance of the forest park apartment. police say the suspect tried to rob the woman and became violent, stabbing her. investigators say there were witnesses in the area. they came to her defense, calling 911. but the suspect got away. now we spoke to a monowhose sister it happen. he didn't want to be identified on camera. >> >> she said she witnessed the the the dude trying to grab her. he stabbed her a couple of times. i was glad that she was sai. the woman didn't die. so that's luck. we hope she's better. initially it appeared the victim was going to make it. she had very serious stab wounds. however, once she was taken to the hospital they were able to

stabilize her and she is expected to pull through. anybody with information about the whereabouts of this armed suspect, you're asked to call police. megan mcgrath, news 4. students at the university of maryland are on alert after a pizza delivery man was robbed. this happened late last night at a student apartment complex on boteler lane. an armed man came up to the delivery man and showed the gun and demanded cash. the delivery man was not a student and was unarmed police sent out an emergency alert on campus to warn students of the incident. and we are waiting to learn the specifics of the evidence linking suspect in the uva student hannah graham's .isappearanc we break down how police came to this big break. ch. >> these cases span nearly a decade. in 2002 jesse matthew was expelled from liberty university. prosecutors tell us they inve

i'm richard jordan at the live desk. a school shooting in north carolina, this is just east of charlotte. two students getting into an argument before school this morning. one shooting the other in the leg. this happened at albemarle senior high school. haven't received information on his or her condition. the other student was taken into custody. police say he did not resist. we still don't know what this argument was about in the first place. barbara? >> thank you, richard. american airlines is examining a plane that blew a tire. 140 passengers didn't arrive until after 1:00 this morning. they were supposed to get there about 8:55 last night.

new developments out of hong kong today. prodemocracy protesters say the government has one day left to meet their demands for election reform. hundreds of thousands spent

another night in the streets bringing one of the financial hubs of the world to a standstill. they want hong kong's chief executive to step down and for officials to hold democratic elections. the government says it won't negotiate with protesters and will continue prescreening candidates for city elections. well, some of the protesters in hong kong are labeling this movement the umbrella revolution. demonstrators are using the umbrellas to deflect pepper spray and tear gas deployed by local police. american officn hong kong to sh restraint and stop using tear gas on the citizens. rjs australian authorities arrested a man during an anti-terrorist raid. he is australian and gave money to an american who joined isis in syria. he's accused ov giving $12,000 to the u.s. citizens. investigators say it was used to fund the american's travel to syria. police say the two men connected on social media. they do not believe the man who

was arrested was plotting any attacks and say there's no specific threat to the public. meanwhile, syrian fishes are blasting president obama. they say they've been trying to warn the u.s. about the threat from isis for three years. syria's deputy foreign minister told ann curry ha the assad government would welcome cooperation against ter rich. on sunday president obama said u.s. intelligence officials underestimated isis in syria. but the president also said stabilizing syria would only come if ast saud left power. american troops will stay in afghanistan after the end of this year. the day the u.s. and the afghanistan signed a deal to allow 10,0 troops to stay through 2015, signing this deal was one of the first acts of afghanistan's new president, who was inaugurated yesterday. the u.s. and the former afghan presidents had never come to a deal on allowing troops to stay in the country.

still a mostly cloudy sky. there are breaks of blue starting to appear before the sky. current temperature is at 70 degrees. high humidity at 73% and a light south wind at 6 miles per hour. the humidity fall and the south breeze inreesing, but we're not going to break suit into full beautiful sunshine any time soon. and on the west side of the blue ridge, finish sunshine in shenandoah county, page county. all sunshine for now. east of the bridge, leesburg into fairfax and falls church, prince william county, all still sitting in the clouds this morning. and these clouds may take a while longer before they burn out. they're not rainmaking clouds but they're sun blocking clouds to say the least.

i'm richard jordan. olympic gold medal swimmer michael phelps busted for dui last night. tmz just broke the news on their website. phelps was arrested last night in maryland. we don't know what jurisdiction just yet. of course, phelps is from the baltimore area. back in 2004 he pleaded guilty to driving under the influence. he struck a plea deal with prosecutors at 18 months probation. we are waiting to find out more about this latest arrest last tmz reporting michael phelps was busted for dui. tomorrow breast awareness

month begins. and tomorrow a woman helping women around the world deal with breast cancer. she knows how it feels firsthand. she was diagnosed at the age of 32. we have more with what advice she has o other women. for being here with us. >> thanks for having me. >> why don't you tell us quickly what it was like. >> my mom got me to do my breast exams at 13 years old. i've been doing them for 18 years. i never thought i would have breast cancer. i have no family disease of it at all. at 31 i found a lump in bring breast. came back false negative. which meant it wasn't cancerous. but i had never had a lump before. i pushed for a biopsy. i was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. mostly aggressive in black women and women of jewish decent as well. my life turned upid down.

>> and how long have you been battling. does the balt l continue? >> i had to have a lumpectomy. i lost my hair, eyebrows. eyelashes. it was a challenging year. i had radiation after that. i'm officially eight years cancer free this year. >> congratulations on that. >> thank you. >> and you want to help other women to be aware of the possibility. so at what age do you think women, you said you started -- >> my exams at 13. >> well, women tend to need reminders. if you begin a healthy lifestyle practice at 13 years old when your breasts form, you learn which lumps are there because it's your period or because it's your body is getting more cystic. if your find a lump like i did at 31 years eeld, i nudely it wasn't there before. i nudely to seek professional help and tell my doctor the mammogram came back false negative, but something is wrong with me. i have to get a bipsy.

>> teenagers, women in their 20s and 30s don't think they're e awire of your breast health. knowing your parent's genetic history is important. eating healthy is important. exercising and doing your breast exams on a regular basis. perhaps once a month. in your 20s start doing clinical brea exams at your doctor's office. mammograms are really good tools for breast cancer. >> people say they hurt. but cancer hurts more. so i tell people that all the time. and because women have denser breasts under 40, it may not work for women who are younger. i would say also do ultra sounds and 3d mammograms as well. >> you started the tiger lily foundation. >> i began that as a blog in chemotherapy to help women understand the risk of breast cancer. my doctor told me i did not have breast cancer. to go home and come back in six months. i want to get doctors aware of the issue, women aware and the
